And the refs called us UCF.
That explains a lot…

We can enjoy the struggle that UCF is having in the B12 as we would for any of our foes. That's not saying that we wouldn't trade places with 'em. I don't get it.
Agree with this statement. I’m just having fun with it.
A big-time UCF fan that I work with stops by the office once a week. Teased me about Beatrice a couple of weeks ago. Had fun this past week with him - when I saw him, I started coughing and saying “choke”. He just hung his head down and shook his head.
He confirmed my comment that with Gus, all you’ll get is 8-4 and a minor bowl every year. He also mentioned that the Auburn fan base warned them about him. I took the high road and said that the Texas fan base warned us about Charlie also…but I’m thinking that after the past few years, I would not mind 8-4 and a minor bowl for a while.
He also made the point that the UCF fan base will find out what kind of team they have when they play Kansas - guess they found out!
Think I’ll tell him this week that Owen Twelve’s younger brother, Owen Kansas, must be on campus in Oviedo, along with a cousin, Owen Conference.
Not taking the us vs. them argument seriously, and just having fun with it.

That's the Darwin fence. It's to keep idiots from jumping off and diminishing the UCF gene pool. Bad idea, in my estimation.

I wonder if Timmy’s dad has called Deion yet. Maybe Jimmy can put in a good word for him…lol

When we went up to Annapolis in 2015, we went on a sail boat charter (74 footer) the day before the game out on the Chesapeake. Was a lot of fun, especially since most of the people on the boat were USF fans. As we can back in, we saw some middies out on their boats. Very impressive sight!
It may be too late, but if you’re going up for the game early, try to go for a ride.

Been thinking the same thing. Don’t think so, but definite improvement.
The Syracuse game was one of my favorites. There was a ‘Cuse fan a few rows down from us, and kept giving us dirty looks as the game went on. My wife and I started cheering louder and making obnoxious comments just to annoy this guy even more. He eventually left in the early 4th quarter.
Good times! Go Bulls

We have to replace the pirate ship with something....
What? No pirate ship? But it’s a USF tradition…(sarcasm font)
We should have a temporary pirate ship available if we ever play UCF in our OCS. Their fans are always talking about it…lol
A more important question - what do we name the live mascot?

Hard to grade him fairly vs proably the best defense we have faced in football in like his 5th start. Luckily for Brown it gets way easier now.
But we do need more talent at receiver. Maybe they unleash the freshmen vs Rice? They should add much needed speed to offense.
Oline considering injuries did pretty well vs Bama.
OC Is my bigger concern. Absolutely no creativity at times.
With all of the runs up the middle, I thought that Sterin Gilbert was our OC again…

Thanks. I must have forgotten. I looked at future schedules just the other day. I’d fail a quiz.
I used to be stationed at Camp Shelby and am familiar with the area. Even went to a USM game once. Saw them play some team called “Rice”, and they had a nice ceremony for Ray Guy at halftime. Compared to Ray Jay, their stadium sucks. However, it’s on campus, and the place had a true college game day atmosphere. Going to try and make the game if at all possible. Hope to see Bulls Nation there!

Yea. That's never happening.
Never say never… I’m sure that are people out there that said that UCLA would never be in the Big10,, and that Stanford would never join the Atlantic Coast Conference. Just sayin…

If it is between them for conference champ, just push our championship game to that weekend?
Agree! If Army/Navy is also playing for a conference championship, then that game will be even more special. This retired soldier would like to see Army in the conference. I’m just surprised to read about Army joining a conference, given that they have publicly stated their preference to be independent.
Here’s a question I haven’t seen discussed recently- assuming that Army joins the conference for football only, does another team then join the conference for the other sports (similar to Navy/Wichita State)? Had read a couple of years ago that VCU would be a candidate.
If nothing else, maybe we’ll get a few more pages in our drive to 4000!

I have not missed dealing with their fans. Let's not reestablish a bad relationship. I'd like people to never think of us and UCF together.
NationalGuard’s posts in the State of Florida College Athletics Forum is a good example of what the worst of UCF fans can do. Don’t miss dealing with (most of) them at all.

How did you guys do against the mighty Hilltoppers yesterday? This new coach going to work out for you? LOL
I’m sure the families of the 4 dead and 9 wounded that day don’t think that it’s overly sensitive. Perhaps the UCF Athletics staff (especially their social media personnel) need to take a remedial course in American History. They do teach history at UCF?

I had an opportunity to observe CAG at yesterday’s practice. He’s an active, intense, in-your-face type of leader. Heard him drop quire a few f-bombs, and was quick to get in a player’s face when they did something wrong. He would have been a good drill sergeant…
I didn’t see the same leadership style from CJS. There was some USF Athletics booster event a couple of years ago at the Pepin ballroom. CJS spoke/rambled on for 45 minutes about stuff - he lost me. If that is how he talked to his players, then he probably lost them also. Not a knock on CJS; I heard from athletics staff that he did everything right - except win.
I have no idea if CAG’s leadership style will translate into wins, but I like what I saw yesterday, and something had to change. Hoping for better days ahead!

I can't speak for UCF, but to me it's not a huge deal because we've been going as far as Texas and Oklahoma for about 20 years with a fraction of the conference revenue and prestige. The only time we've likely had close trips was before we joined football playing conferences and had our non football sports in places like the Atlantic Sun. As an FBS school we've always been far from everyone else. Before the AAC and USF, I think UAB was our closest geographic opponent.
I’m sure the UCF Athletics Department has considered this, but unlike most of the AAC schools, not all of the Big 12 schools have direct flights from Orlando. As a result, if your programs travel commercial, then connecting flights are required (probably DFW). I used to travel to Lubbock, and always had to go thru DFW. I also learned the hard way that DFW means Delayed For Weather. I haven’t done the research, but I suspect that there aren’t any direct flights from Orlando to Waco, Stillwater, Lawrence, Manhattan, and Ames. I flew into Lubbock once with the K-State women’s tennis team on the flight. Two flights to get from Manhattan to Lubbock? Ugh! Charter flights save time, but at what cost?
All of this travel has to have an impact on student athletes. Jet lag? I’m sure that the UCLA Volleyball team is looking forward to flying to NJ to play Rutgers (sarcasm font). It’s all about choices, and understanding the impacts of those choices.
On a different subject, I appreciate your commentary, and how you respond in a professional and respectful manner. You represent UCF well, and I wish that your UCF peers would act similarly on social media. Good luck to your school in the Big 12/16.
I spent 3 years flying from Tampa/Orlando

They do have a nice stadium… Funny story - used to work at a place where the admin assistant also worked at SEU. Guy didn’t know anything about athletics. He told me that free tix for an SEU football game were available for me, but I had to go meet someone named “Will Call” to get them (lol)…smh

Won’t be going up this time, but it is a fun trip worth doing. Suggest that everyone do the trip if they can. In 2015, we stayed in Academy lodging. The Navy lives well… Also went out on a 74-foot charter the day before on the Chesapeake. Boat was full of USF fans, which made it even better!
Hope they can win this year.
