i dont think that is really fair to brett.  i'm sure there are people o ut there worse then him.  but i will agree that greg makes brett look bad because greg does such a GREAT job.

but Brett always does a good job of "telling it like it is" type of reporting.  obviously ANY beat reporter who does that isnt going to win many hearts within the program or people who are diehard fans of the program.

so you gotta ask yourself....what is a "beat" writers true job?  to get fans excited about the team/program or to report the news as it happens?

greg does a great job at both and that is what makes him special.  brett reports the news as it happens (although sometimes a few hours behind greg)  i think they complement each other nicely and i am glad we have both.

greg is clearly more of the glass is half full reporter while brett is the glass if half empty (which can be needed, specially with our fanbase, to try and help keep fans grounded)

i cant wait for this team to prove Brett wrong though.

the problem is Brett has some issue with USF and the trib is the "offical" paper of USF and that in its self is a problem.
