I know Alex McGough (of Tampa and FiU) and been cut by the Texans days before season started and then got a tryout with the Jets.  Looks like Mike beat him out.

McGough was a good QB for FIU.

Got paid a couple of rookie/miniumum contracts. One with Seattle, then Jacksonville and then Houston last year. Was on practice squad most times but spent some time on rosters.  Don't think he's landed anywhere yet. He had just leased a place in Houston and within a few days he got called in for the bad news. He was fully expecting to be the backup.

It would appear so.  I actually do know his father though I do not see him or talk to him really anymore and if I wanted to gamble I would say CR knows him as well.   The family is from the Wesley Chapel area, but I think they moved when he was in high school.   He was a good baseball player also but wanted to focus on being a QB.

His dad is my lawn guy.  The younger son is the center at FIU.  They started the St Pete Bowl together, the QB as a senior and the center as a Fr.  It lasted a few plays when Alex (QB) separated his shoulder (or something like that).

By your comments I figured there must be a connection somehow.

That's what I figured.   He was mine for a little while before I went back to doing my own.  We got him to do my aunt and uncle's house here in the 'hood.  He's a good guy.  Alex played baseball for my dad for a year before he moved over to Gaither to pursue the QB dreams.

He is. Just hasn't been here in 11 days though.  When he travels to see the kids play things get behind.

We've talked about getting back to being the toughest, most violent people out there. Let's be the best version of ourselves and really get back to the culture of how we (USF) used to step across the line and play anybody. Let's hold on to the culture of when they were tough … and they (opponents) knew it was going to be long damn day for themselves.

With the climate going on in NCAA athletics, you’re either moving forward at a hard pace or you’re not. I think what intrigued me the most is they’re very determined to become a big player nationally.
