I hate to keep saying it, but style points matter!  If you watched ESPN or some of the other networks, the only mentions that USF got were for their insane number of penalties.  

For those that say wins are all that matters, then you should not concern yourselves with the polls.  However, with another G5 team nipping at our toes, it seems pretty clear that in the G5 world how you win is critical!

On sirius xm they do a sports update like every hour and saturday they said #22 USF blitzed Illinois...

Does anyone think that those who are voting do not realize that this team is 14-2 over the last 16 games (with a bowl win over an SEC opponent and we have almost everyone back) with our only 2 losses coming against a #13 FSU team and a Temple squad on the road that ended up 10-4, winning the conference championship..we also currently lead the nation (That's right, every single D1 football program) in scoring 30+ ppg...we are WORTHY of a Top 25 vote, can't believe some of those genius writers don't think so.

I certainly had predicted the outcome of this game wrong.  But, with good reason based upon the first two games of this season.  Our guys played with good intensity and enthusiasm on both sides of the ball.  That's a first for this year.  Let's hope it continues.  Less penalties and more discipline, though.  Manhandling a Big Ten team, even a lower tier one with just three days of focused practice now justifies our being ranked in my opinion.

The next few weeks will weed out the pretenders. So many teams are overrated and just waiting to fall. I thought we would take a big leap ahead this week with so many teams ahead of us losing, but the P5 bias rears its ugly head. Memphis and Houston should also be ranked.
