we really looked intimitated.

Yeah, an edge was not set the entire game. Needed to go with 3 or 4 linebackers and have them spread out wide. I thought we would do that second half but nope.

They ran to the left like 4 times in a row late in game. 

I'm not a defense guru but seems like that's a player position adjustment that should be made.

You aren't going to stop Cook the entire game.  Or the Seminole offense, for that matter.  But you have to get some stops.  Which means you have to take chances.  They will beat you whether you take chances or not.  So who cares if they get a couple of quick scores?  Gets the defense off the field, and if you can stop them a few times you are still in the game.

Trying that prevent crap against the Noles means they score anyway, your defense stays out there longer and they score a higher percentage of the time.

This isn't quite there, but it is starting to look like the Cosh defense.

I am not sure if it what the coaches are teaching or what the players are doing.  Last year and this year the defensive ends did not hold the edge and instead rushed in at 45 degree angle thus taking them out of the play. I would have expected USF to switch to a 4-3 so the DEs could rush vertically and allow the LBs and SS to file the hole a la WVU @ USF2007. IMO rushing in at angle took them out of the play.

Although there were some big passing plays it was the inability to stop the run that loss the game from a defensive perspective.
