Courtney Williams is the nation’s 10th-leading scorer, a 5-foot-8 guard who can single-handedly change the flow of a game. She is coming off one of her most prolific performances of the season, pouring in 31 points to break her own school postseason record. And despite her size, she averages more than eight rebounds per game, and leads her team with 29 blocks. That’s the player that the UCLA women’s basketball team will try to slow down on Monday night at Pauley Pavilion. “She’s like the Energizer bunny,” Cori Close said. “She can go and go and go.”......... Hopefully, we can work the ball inside but also have Kitja start lighting things up from the outside.

If we cant balance the scoring, we lose. Need Stringfield, Jenkins, and at least one more (Laura or Laksa) to be major contributors.

We can't let what happened in the opening quarter against CSU to happen this time. We need other players to step up.

Although Stringfield tends to take too many shots for her not-so-Courtney level of talent, it really will benefit the team as a whole if she starts hitting open shots quickly tonight so Courtney can have some more freedom. If they shut CW down, it'll be up to Stringfield to drop 20-25 points and Jenkins to grab 20 rebounds. CW will need to recognize very quickly tonight if she is able to get things going or if she is simply outmatched. She'll need to use herself as a decoy, crash the boards and get out in front when running the floor after a defensive rebound. She may be going to the WNBA, but she needs to play each remaining game wholeheartedly because when she loses, she is done playing forever as a USF Bull.

Player Minutes Points Ferreira 40 1 Jespersen 27 0 Jenkins 40 5 Stringfield 39 7 Laksa 13 3 Williams 35 31 Another interesting stat from the CSU game was free throws. CSU went 1-2 from the line while USF went 9-14. Hopefully we can keep our fouls and turnovers to a minimum. A repeat of Courtney's performance would be just fine.
