  1. Slightly off topic, but Busch Gardens is also about to announce a new ride. It's going to be a 500 ft drop tower and will be the longest free fall in the world by 100 feet. They are set to announce to the media on June 11th. Also heard from a different source that it will only be 330 ft. Either way it should be fun...

  2. I like the sound of him in the interviews. Kind of sounds like he has his head screwed on right. I am sure he knows by now CWT will give him the straight skinny. Good luck to him wherever he goes.

i'm a little afraid everyone here has fallen a little too much in love with nomenclature. PSQB vs DTQB, etc. Athletic ability goes a long way toward refuting those titles and also  creating the same said titles.Watch the play at 2:15

Reminds me a lot of Grothe with a stronger arm or Daniels with a more accurate arm... Sign me up!

  3. I think we should lock this thread halfway thru the 199th page...

      :stirpot:

I am on record somewhere in this thread as saying that we should do at the 199th page, 19th post.   :D

There's an Auto Lock function where you can limit the number of pages in a thread to preserve space and it has been activated for this one. It will never see 200.

I just want this thread to be done so we can quit talking about this dumbass!

I was unaware attending USF was something that needed to be "toughed out" by our players. Speaks very highly of our program, bull-71.

BJ needed to step it up a notch with the poor offensive line showing. poor QB protection..More sramble etc...He  did this and it toughened him up (took some hard hits) and the reward IMO was being drafted by the 49ers

AW Dad did nothing but worry about his son getting hurt and his future...more like an attitude of don't expect him to get in the trenches in adverse situations......

Sucess is measured  by  doing/making the best of a bad situation through motivation etc. .  Our previous coaches failed in this area.. and I have not seen this in AW yet...So I have serious doubt..on his future in the NFL..

I observe a tough it out attitude in  Steven Bench...and I hope he comes to USF and gets our program moving forward again..

    Go Bulls

I'm not sure which of your statements is the most ignorant, but I'll see if I can rank them for you:

I'd say praising Steven Branch's "tough it out attitude" in light of his transfering to a new school upon being passed over for the starting spot would be #1 (and thats not a knock on him, he wants to play football and his best chance is somewhere other than PSU and I'm hoping that place us USF).

But your stance on AW not showing you tougness by virtue of him picking a school other than USF shouldn't be overlooked, I'm torn. I love me some hypocrisy, and praising one player for making a personal decision and transfering while simultaneously saying its a character flaw in another is good stuff.

Then again, your BJ commentary is great, but you're also the guy who thinks he got drafted because of a coach he never played for. This is too close to call.

Why do you even bother?  Honestly ... ?  If it's about the hypocrisy bit, I get it, otherwise, all I can think of is that you got one of those secret decoder rings as a kid and broke it back out to try to decipher just what in the hell bull-71 is talking about.

I will say that is does make for good entertaining posts between the two of you.   :D

  5. They need to bulk up quite a bit. Our RB's are quite small compared to other teams. A 180 lb RB does not fit well in a power running game. Taggart already said the team is going to hit the weights hard over the summer. Hopefully they can gain an extra 15-20lbs over that span. We saw how much Lindsey Lamar improved after he hit the weights (no longer taken down by arm tackles).

He will not be coming to USF, his parents advise him to go to another school.

    link?

Read the article posted by Greg Auman on Twitter.  You will see what I mean.

I read that article a couple of days ago.  And I came away with the opposite impression.  His parents will support him no matter what he decides to do, even if he decides to give up football.  Sounds like great parents.  Interesting that Bench made a comment a few months ago about how nice it would be if Penn State were located somewhere with warm weather, like Florida.

Must not be the same article I just linked ... Only thing it mentions about parents is that he's the son of a long time coach.

i'm thinking it was this article, but I didn't see where it said we were out of it:

could be the wrong article too

Did Greg link to that article at some point? Even if he did, still don't see anything to back up Riz's assessment .... did see that he's more suited for a spread option offense. That's not what CWT's going to run, is it?

     Yes, 16 hours ago.

He was probably talking about this statement:

“Dreams don't have to be about sports. I've said this a thousand times since Steven was a little boy. I don't care what he chooses to do and to see himself doing. I don't care.

“What I care about is that he sees himself doing something big. I don't care what it is. I don't even care if it's about his job. It's about him seeing himself successful at something, whatever that is.â€

Where the dad is talking about wanting his son to be successful, not that he is against his son going to USF...

I read the article and have no clue what you are talking about... Are you literally trying to read between the lines??
