What if we are 6-0 heading into the FSU game and have won by an average of 20 points? And then we beat FSU? I think fans would be convinced by then and start showing up.
Problem is: the atmosphere will live and die with the student section, and after FSU - students are gone for the winter. So, that probably means better atmosphere for conference season.

Not in any order, here is my prediction for the rest of the games:
A blowout loss
A close loss
A close win
A blowout win .....
then a bowl game!

Free tickets and free parking, so just show up.

UNC and Virginia aren't getting left behind if FSU and Clemson leave. You can probably add Miami to that list as well.
UNC is probably gone, agree on that. Not so sure Virginia goes.
I would think UNC would be appealing to both SEC and Big 10, (maybe more than FSU or Clemson)
Miami is interesting. I think the Big 10 wants into Florida, and Miami is probably the choice, but I am not sure Miami can buy itself out of the ACC, and may be stuck.

That would still be 17 regular season wins ....
You can't see the implied words?
17 regular season wins, plus possibly more wins in the postseason

17 regular season wins, plus maybe more depending on what happens in the post season.

We played years with 7 PM kicks and the Bucs at 1 the next day.
It may impact how the field is painted, but if its not on TV, I'm not sure I care that much about the paint job.
I should mention, I personally love noon kicks. I am also hoping Ok State at UCF is at 7, so I can go to both ...... but I spent too many years worrying about attendance, and I know noon kicks kill the crowd.

I love the fact that going into November, there is still a mathematical possibility that USF will gets its first ACC win before UCF gets their first Big 12 win.

With the Buccaneer's game against the Titans that Sunday at 1:00pm, a night game may not have been entirely feasible (although you'd think 3:30 could have been).

I tweeted this out over the weekend. I was at Wake on Saturday, loved their berm. (it was pretty steep, as was their seats, everything right on top of the field) ....
side note, Wake was a 31,500 seat ACC stadium.

Another streaming game . . . and breakfast tailgating!
This is one of my biggest complaint with the AAC's ESPN deal. If ESPN doesn't want to air the game on one of their 12 cable channels, then the home team should be able to pick the kick time.
Making us play at noon, and no tv is wrong.

What year were they introduced?
2003 I think or maybe 2004. I did merch for football for the 2004 season, and they were new that year.

Athletics used to do the big sales at Fan Fest, problem is that our old Under Armor deal gave us lots of gear, our Adidas deal does not, so there hasn't really been much surplus. The last time we did it was dumping all the Under Armor stuff as that contract expired.

Was the shield even around then ......... maybe Woody is being targeted erroneously.
Shield was around, introduced with the iconic U, President Genshaft asked for a cartoon bull in some form, when we went with the U as a secondary logo.

Two things..
Vs. Marshall, I believe USF sold less than 15,000 tickets and only half of those people showed up. I know there is some pent-up demand to attend a bowl game now but not sure we'd sell that much more this time around.
I still say the kids should get a chance to play anywhere else but home. Yes, they normally are not tourists but at least for a bowl game, they get to go to a couple local events/activities. With the Gasparilla Bowl, that's probably a trip to Busch Gardens and a maybe a morning at Clearwater Beach. They've all "been there, done that". If they do play at RayJay, I at least hope the swag is worth it.
That Marshall game was a game our fans didn't want to be in. We had come off 2 great seasons, we had lost 5 or 6 in a row, the team was falling apart. We had coaches fighting with players on the sidelines. No one was happy to be there.
We won 1 FBS game in the last 3 years combined. Our fans should be happy to be there this time. That makes a huge difference.
And 15,000 tickets sold for a Bowl game is awesome (I think we sold a lot less for that Marshall game).
We have had bowl games where the sold number is 1500 or so. When we sell a small number, we take a financial hit.

I agree. Be careful not to fall into the delusion of grandeur trap. Realistically I believe USF to the ACC has the best chance at happening compared to other rumors. Maybe the big 12 if the ACC raids them of a few schools and ACC doesn’t want another Florida school. The big ten a lot of crazy events would have to happen but it is not impossible. SEC is not an option. Besides I don’t think USF is even close to a good fit for those schools.
I agree, but also think the Big 12 is still an option, if the ACC stabilizes. The Big 12 isn't done expanding, and if they can't pull any ACC schools, I think we are a good fit there too.

Anyone have any idea what the tipoff time will be for the MBB vs. FSU game on December 9? Still TBD at the OBC site. Trying to work out travel plans. @John Lewis any insider info on this or based on OCB history? Are we the first or second game? So many questions!
Onsale email today says tip time 1:30 PM*
Then said * game time may change.
The way they set up the ad, makes me believe we are the first game.

You don't think they want to travel to a different bowl venue? Never thought about them being home.
One thing I'll say as a person who loves to travel. When college football players travel they don't get much of the experience of visiting a city. Their time is so regimented, not much time to explore or be a tourist.
What it comes down to (in my opinion) that makes a Bowl game a better or worse destination is the activities the bowl sets up for the players. From this perspective, I think the Gasparillia Bowl is probably a pretty good destination.
I also know money is tight, and much of a Bowl game payout to the school is in the form of tickets, so financially, staying home where we sell more tickets is a good thing for us.
With all that said, I have no idea what Athletics (and football in particular) want, and how they feel about the home game.

Fun Fact: every time USF has played at Army it was the site of ESPN's gameday, which I assume will continue, contractually.
Our 1 trip up there, was also the day before the last every baseball game at the Vet. I was up in the cheap seats as I watched this lady spend the entire game trying to take apart her seat with a screwdriver to take it home with her.

From a draw/ticket sales perspective, that is a very good schedule. (hope for lots of Saturday at 7 PM)

All I see is AAC
The C isn't part of the name, I just copied a piece that noted we were the champions of that particular year.
I was just referencing the use of Atlantic in the name.

Thanks guys. One more question. Will we get the opportunity to purchase tickets from USF or should we just go to ticketmaster. The onsale is in 2 days.
Last time USF had a block (at full price) ....
I can suggest following the Orange Bowl on social media, as last year they ran lots of sales (buy one get one free).
If you want the absolute best seat, no matter the cost, go ahead and buy. If not, you will be advised to wait. (USF vs. UF was in a 80% empty building)

When we played in it 2 years ago we tipped at 1 PM (second game was 3:30 I think, but it was canceled due to Covid)

I think we blowout Temple, but honestly, just get 2 wins and send us to a bowl game and I'll be happy.
