  1. I’ve seen all I’ve needed to see from Golesh to say I was wrong to judge him so harshly as “yet another offensive coordinator”

Specifically, the raw emotion he showed in the postgame on-field TV interview. Genuine emotion, without a hint of performance. That’s a players coach.

At the same time, he’s so confident and composed on the sideline, and has injected life into our offense, the kind that took Willie two and a half seasons.

    Team Goach.

  2. Alright, i've been out of the loop all offseason. My apathy towards this program has reached new heights. I've had literally no interest in the past eight months of this program following the hiring of "yet another offensive coordinator".

So, what's the word on Golesh so far, his approach to coaching/player recruitment and what he's shown as a recruiter? Real talk only please.

  3. As a Miami-born Colombian background USF grad, I was a futbol fan long before I was a football fan, and seeing the college football environment, even as little of it as we had at USF, and those free games at RayJay, the whole gameday experience, was a crucial component to me becoming a college/pro football fan above any other sport.

So maybe let's not disparage the notion that diverse cultures can become football fans through the college experience... not worth the level of nitpicking that I'm seeing here.

Kevin Patrick has removed FAU references from his Twitter profile and hasn't retweeted anything FAU related in the last week. I think he might be the guy.

They fired his team's HC, leaving the whole coaching staff in lingo, not to mention him not retweeting FAU a week ago came long before we ended up picking Golesh.

I'd stop promoting my current school on Twitter also if they just fired my boss and I thought I was on the chopping block.

  5. So after fully digesting the Golesh presser, here's what I like about him: He wears his heart on his sleeve. Willie had the heart of a used car salesman, Chuckles' was D.O.A., and Scott had a heart but not much of a brain. The hope is Golesh brings both. But I have 0 doubts right now about his qualities as a human. He's raw, he's genuine, and that will make him beloved if he puts the other pieces together. This press conference was a man unafraid to show his emotions in front of a large ballroom of random people he now works with. I like that.

So I've found a big selling point that can bring me around to understanding and accepting this hire.

TAMPA, FL – USF Director of Athletics Michael Kelly has issued a statement encouraging USF fans to lock the "Deion Sanders" thread on TheBullspen forum.

"We are very pleased with Alex Golesh as our new head coach and are confident that he will be a great leader for our football team," Kelly said. "We understand that our fans may have had their hearts set on Deion Sanders, but it is time to move on and support our new coach. To that end, we are asking our fans to lock the Deion Sanders thread on TheBullspen forum and use their energy and enthusiasm to cheer on the Bulls and Coach Golesh."

It's a ******* blessing in disguise, said one USF fan. When we heard Sanders' press conference, we knew that he was all about himself and had zero interest in our beloved Bulls. We dodged a ******** bullet by not getting him, and now it's time to lock this forsaken thread. Do it, Brad. You won't."

Work day? Stopped that nonsense 18 years ago. We may go. We've attended some of these in the past including Charlie Strong's. The place was bonkers that day. We know how that worked out. So maybe someone not so smooth will do better as a coach.

I attended Charlie's, I attended Willie's before that. IIRC, Willie's was in a press room at the LRS center. Proper venue, proper turnout. He came off as an honest earnest family man coming back home. Chuckles was intro'd in the main MCS ballroom. Big party atmosphere. He was dull though. 100% coach speak, which I expected but was hoping for some sort of unique spin. Wasn't any. Holtz's was before my time but looked like a coronation ceremony in the amphitheater behind the MSC. I don't remember where Scott was introduced.

I wonder where they will be rolling out Golesh tomorrow...

Does Dabo have a system beyond recruiting stud QBs and throwing jump balls to first round WRs?

Sell me on the Huepuel system and what Golesh's role in developing and/or executing that was.

I say that earnestly. I want to be sold on our new HC, because I am and will always be a proud Bull, unfortunately or not at times (in terms of football).

Fair points from a marketing perspective. But what does he bring to the table? The offense that everyone in college football is trying to get their hands on….the Briles/Heupel mix. Sell that in year 2

How did that work when we tried to import the Dabo system? Or when Willie Taggart came in with his Harbaugh style before he junked it in year 3 for the spread?
