Then you and many on this board were delusional. You couldn't have stacked the deck against improving any more than it was against USF. We had at least two games that shouldn't have been played due to Covid holdouts. For a team without depth, without practice, without an identity, that is just too much to ask. I hope you and everyone else can be fair about the situation that we find ourselves in. If anyone is expecting us to beat NC State, BYU, or Florida next season you need to get your head checked. We aren't likely to beat SMU, Tulsa, Cincy, Houston or UCF either. Not to say we might not steal one, but it isn't something that anyone should be expecting. You can't build the second floor before you build the foundation. If you want to understand just how badly CSS damaged the program just reach out to Tyre McCants on Twitter and ask him.
This...it is maddening that you have to explain this to someone...

Against a terrible defense...he will have to step way up to hold the starting position
I will give him that though...at least he played well against a terrible defense...there is a ton of competition back there now...

When this class is re evaluated we will be better than 67. Now you saw 109? From 109 to 60 something. I’ll take it.
Plus the transfers aren't attributed to the score...we landed some really good talent from the transfer portal...

Sanford Seminole duo Timmy McClain, Jimmy Horn Jr. sign with USF
For those that don't follow recruiting very closely...this is pretty big...he was slated to sign with Georgia...

Maybe nobody died because 118 games were cancelled preventing the outbreaks that would have resulted in mass casualties.
Maybe the actual data tells us the likelihood of dying for that age group is less then the flu...

I actually read up. Seems like he was a highly touted prospect, in regards to our program, and then he was injured and CWT just kind of left him on the bench
There is a 5000 page thread on this topic if you want to study up on him...

Going into tonight's game against Apopka his stats (according to Maxpreps)he is 98 of 158 for 1405 passing yards and 78 carries for 440. His overall stats (Freshman-Senior) is 411 of 636 for 6227 passing yards and 234 carries for 803 yards. Kicker is that he has only 11 interceptions!! Some
Man, that should be a great matchup tonight...

Solid analysis...Scott is building a solid base...let's see what transfers he get bring in to contribute next year...

That’s not what they said. They said Georgia offered Seminole WR Jimmy Horn Jr. (who we also offered).
Thanks

Im excited about the future transfers. Hopefully we can get another Patrick Macon or Slade. CCS wasn't the best coach, but he snagged some decent d-lineman from the portal. So far CJS pulled in Demontrey Jacobs and Thad Magnum (I hope he comes back) who pulled their weight this year. I would dedicate half of our transfers to our D-Line.
Macon was a heck of a backer...too bad he was here for just a year...

I gave, but the team and coaching staff let us down. Hopefully we don't let them down. I hope the future is more bright, but CJS has not given us much hope. Year ZERO was a disaster, and lets hope year 1 is better.
I have a ton of hope...this year was about changing the culture and Scott accomplished that...we played with a severely limited roster the bulk of the season...there are a lot of bright spots here...

"Earned a shot at competing?" Every QB on the roster has earned the shot at competing or they wouldn't be there.
He has earned the starter position going into next year, until if/when someone beats him out. And based off what I saw this year, the guy with the ability to beat him out is not currently on the roster. A random 3 star freshman recruit is not going to beat him out either. Sorry to burst your bubble.
All the qb's will compete for the starting spot...you didn't see enough from the other qb's to give you an indication they can beat McCloud out because there was a quandary of injuries and covid related factors that kept them from getting enough snaps during the season...the coaching staff took pretty much the entire year to make a determination of who the starter would be and my guess is there will be a competition this off-season as well...

He's earned a shot at competing for the spot...by no means it is a lock that he will be our starter though

We have McCloud, who looked like a different guy today. We have Fortin, who looked great for one series. We theoretically could have Noah Johnson back. And then there is Marsh, and hopefully McClain. Of we get a real spring practice and real fall camp with a full squad, our QBs will be fine. Our receivers were on fire today, and we had two RBs run for over 100 yards. We need depth and more talent on defense and we can win games next year
I am really excited about the qb coming in this class...he could end up being our starter next year...

According to your logic we shouldn't even be doing that though...

My biggest takeaway is that CJS and Weis can coach up their side of the ball. I don't care if JM is the answer or not. The fact that he can put up 400 yards on any defense shows what the coaching staff can do on that side of the ball. Now we need to find a decent DC
We do have a decent dc...we just don't have any depth and that will come in time...

In an article on the front page of the TBT USF says they are trying to right some wrongs against indigenous communities. They acknowledge that the school was built on land once occupied. I won't link to the article since everyone hates the TBT and people don't want to pay but it may be worth the time. Maybe it will be the start of a good basketball season at the IBG.
Are you serious lol...if so, this should have been rectified years ago

Not all players on deck, several players have opted out for surgery and to get ready for the draft.
So you are missing roughly half of your team? Because that's our current situation...
