Nah, the team just isn't ready. New staff, no spring, can hardly field a team due to covid... It's just our reality right now.
From a covid perspective...UCF hasn't been affected to the same degree as us or a bunch of other teams as well...this is almost comical at this point...if we play the game in a couple of weeks I would be ok...but Friday is no bueno...

Sad. I seem to stand alone in wanting to play our rivals. Anything can happen, any game. If you don't want them to play don't watch. I do.
For some people USF football seems to be about winning every game, every season, and if we have to rebuild then we suck and we should shut it down.
I don't get it.
If we are on an equal playing field from the standpoint of bodies that can play (along with a qb other then McCloud starting) im good...if that doesn't happen, I'm out...

The QB who will be starting out next bowl game is not on this roster. CJS just needs to find a competent QB who can allow him to evaluate the other 10 positions on the field.
Heck, its possible we have seen our last USF football game of the season anyway. This certainly feels like a throw away year in many ways.
Doesn't appear that way...although in fairness Marsh is still pretty young...

Ok I get cancelling for COVID and safety. No issues with that but you guys who are glad we aren’t playing so we don’t lose??? That is a crazy mindset IMHO
I don't think anyone is thinking that...we were at last week just over half of a roster...it doesn't really make sense just to throw whoever out there when you have that many players out...there were a bunch of walk-ons getting meaningful playing time...hell, we only had 3 cornerbacks practicing for Houston and that was before KJ was injured...this is just insanity to play at this point...

Good, we barely could field a team at this point...just cancel next week as well

Simple question. Is Marsh the long term answer at QB. Have you seen enough, or do you need to see more?
I wish he hadn't got hurt, we could have seen more of him. I like his arm, he can get the ball down the field.
At this point, I want Johnson playing, but am still intrigued by Marsh. Do you want to see more of Marsh and can he be the answer?
Haven't seen enough...not nearly enough...plus is he is very raw...in my opinion though if Noah or Cade can't go...play him the final two games to get him experience...

It can when you run off at the mouth and then try to hedge your bets so you can say "I'm always right" .....
Did they come back and eat crow when he turned it around?
I remember a few doing that...just a few though...some would still try to critize even when things were turned around...

My point is that the coaching staff or fan base can't simply blame today's performance on Covid. They deserve some of the blame.
I agree Johnson is the better QB, but we shouldn't have been blow out 5 minutes into the game. Team was not ready to play.
Ah got it...agree

The incessant use of McCloud, who is demonstrably not talented enough for this level, especially with this O-line mystifies me. It's my one knock on the coaching staff.
I was going to say exactly that...if I had one critique against this staff, it would be that...McCloud playing any further is pointless...even if they didn't feel Marsh was ready enough I would have started him...there were guys getting significant snaps today that aren't on scholarships...Atkins? Who the hell is 31 on defense lol? That is how thin this team was today...

McCloud was the coaches choice for QB to start the season. Johnson has started one game. I wouldn't call him the starter. We really don't have one.
Stop lol...Johnson is better then McCloud and would have started today...he actually brings life to the offense...this is significant...him not starting sucked the life out of the offense before the ball was even kicked off...according to your logic we should have had a similar performance on offense last week but we didn't...because...drum roll...we had a better qb back there

With the exception of Ford, this would have been the starting offense. The OL Is in tact. No reason for this level of ineptitude.
Our normal starting DL and 2 of our normal LBs are still starting. With the exception of Davis, our starting secondary is out there.
If we faded late in the game I would say it was lack of depth, but no excuse for the first half to be so disastrous.
And little thing called a starting qb which didn't play...and by the way, the backup has a way of sucking the life out of the offense...

Team mentally gave up as soon as he was announced as the starter...

we are going to get embarrassed
when we stopped playing them this was the beginning of leavitt's downfall
No...hitting a player and allowing Judy to make her move in the power struggle was THE downfall...

I am going to post my predictions for next year:
1. McCloud transfers out during offseason
2. Johnson stays for next season, but loses his starting job early in the season
3. We win 6 games and go on to a bowl game, where we lose
4. we beat UCF next year in an upset
5. All of our commits stay and don’t flip to other schools
6. we get a surprise 4 star transfer.
Pretty solid analysis...Not sure about Johnson though...he may still hold onto the job...

We should immediately add 7 transfer quarterbacks and let them battle it out Royal Rumble style.

do you you really think you are being fair to the first year coach in a year where there is a pandemic?
No lol...but fan is short for fanatic so it was going to come...this actually isn't fair in a non-covid year.

Having and carrying a gun concealed with cwp is legal. It is illegal though per UCF campus rules. Nothing wrong with carrying if it is legal where you are. This is the equivalent of bringing a gun to a court house or inside of a football stadium. If you guys watch the video you will know they accused the cop of pretty disgusting stuff and even tried to use do we know who we are to threaten him.
Yep, there next actions is what doomed them...I don't blame them though...this behavior is enabled in our society where accusations can be made and if you kick and scream loud enough you get away with it...it is sad to see someone come face to face with the actual reality of the situation...

Culture change won't happen overnight...I am glad everyone basically had a throw away year...this helped us more in my opinion then a good bulk of teams...we needed a year just to practice, figure out who can play and hone their coaching skills...

I would not be surprised if they skirted the rules around Covid during the football season as well...with their history of low moral standards...I wouldn't be surprised if they could have sat more players out around football (contact tracing), but didn't...
