Thanks for the great tips! Any good local breweries or beers recommended?

I don't live in SJ, but I spend a bit of time there for work. These are the places I like in the area. Just to name a few. There are quite a few more I'm sure I missed. Northern Cali has some pretty awesome craft beers and breweries.

    San Jose -

Hermitage Brewing Company https://hermitagebrewing.com/ Their Single Hop Series is excellent. There was a taco truck outside the last visit.

Mission Creek Brewing Company missioncreekbrewingco.com Once again, hop forward beers mostly. They're inside of the Wholefoods, so food is around. They also have a decent list of other local-ish beers ie... Drakes, Fieldwork, Devil's Canyon, Bike Dog, Ale Industries etc...

Strike Brewing Co. and Warehouse Taproom http://www.strikebrewingco.com/ More IPA's. They close pretty early.

    San Jose Tap houses -

Good Karma http://goodkarmasj.com/ This place is a craft beer/vegan restaurant. So, if that type of food isn't your thing... I'd only go for the beer, to be honest. Their tap list is mostly Cali beers and outstanding.

Original Gravity Public House http://www.originalgravitypub.com/ This is my favorite place in the area. Huge tap list and amazing bottle selection. Tons of rare and harder to find (limited Cali distribution etc...) beers. They have some pretty good gourmet sausages and such.

Greater San Francisco area - If you had more days and wanted to venture out there are endless breweries and things you could do. Sante Adairius (Capitola), Russian River (Santa Rosa), 21st Amendment (SF), Mikkeller (SF), Cellarmaker (SF), The Rare Barrel (Berkeley), Almanac (SF), Drakes (San Leandro), Torpedo Taproom, Sierra Nevada beer (Berkeley), Lagunitas (Petaluma) and on and on. Hell, Sacramento (Track &, Moonraker) and the Central Coast (Firestone Walker, Barrelworks, and Libertine) have some amazing breweries as well.

I'll be looking for beer from Sante Adairius, Cellarmaker, Fieldwork, and a few others. I will be there Friday night August 25th and will definitely be around SJ. Beer will be involved. Hope to see ya!

What's the best way for us out-of-towners to buy tix in the Bulls section with y'all season ticket holders/

I called them last week with that exact question and they said they will be available once single game tickets go on sale. And yes you can purchase them in the USF section. They told me to check back in June. I am Northern California based and plan to do just that.

    Hope that helps.

Only time I ever saw USF gear the 3 years I was down there was at LA Alumni watch parties and events to be honest. Silver Lake was our night time park; since they were open til 10 and getting from Sherman Oaks to K-Town at 5 usually meant we were there well after dark. Weekends were Runyon and Laurel Canyon dog park.

I know what you mean regarding just saying South Florida; to this day I say I went to University of South Florida and every once in a while people will be like "oh USF?" I tend to not take those for granted as they're usually few and far between.

I lived over the hill in Silver Lake going towards Los Feliz. Mostly morning or afternoon walks. That hill was a killer. The lack of really good sports bars used to drive me crazy. There were a few cool little spots but basically 1 or 2 tv situations.

I find that people up north are well aware of who we are but are usually surprised to hear anyone discuss the Bulls. Other than a game actually being on at a bar. But in reality trying to get a Bulls game on when any Pac 12 game is happening is futile. As you are well aware I'm sure.

  4. Living in Northern Cali it's really bad. I basically have to call it South Florida. I see USF (U of San Francisco) license plates regularly. I've had 1 guy say "Go Bulls" to me in the last 5 years. I said, "did you go there too?" His reply "Nah man."

I used to walk my dog at Silver Lake dog park too. Never saw any Bulls gear, ever.

  5. I would be happy with a different attitude on the field. The play I saw could best be described as listless or apathetic. The quality of players that choose to come will be what they are with the occasional coup.

I think that a smart, disciplined and tough team will be a great start. Then, maybe those types of players will be attracted. The above also applies to the coaching staff. Please no more wishy-washy end of half drives coupled with piss poor clock management.
