  1. Seth left during C-USA right?

Is he saying AAC wouldn't stack up?

Maybe not with L'ville gone. Would have to look. But, I think he's wrong there.

Would be a pretty good debate ... Top programs in old CUSA: Marquette, Louisville, Memphis, Cincy ... The American: Memphis, UConn, Cincy ... then assess the rest of each conference.

Id say the top of the AAC next season will be:

    Cincy - NCAA

    SMU - NCAA

    UConn - NCAA

    Memphis - NCAA

    Tulsa - NCAA/NIT

    Houston - NIT/CBI

    After that, its a log-jam

Don't sell USF short. We will be in that Tulsa/Houston range as long as the new coach keeps everyone on board. If you do, you aren't paying attention. Collins back, the Freshmen getting bigger, stronger and becoming smarter players.

When you have a coach, and the recruits say that...OK...but you don't and they haven't.

I will say Masiello is a FAR better choice than someone like Andy Kennedy or Pel.

  3.

the bronx school is doing what usf  FOOTBALL should have been doing for last 10 years

    THEY RECRUIT THEIR FERTILE CITY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NYC HAS A TON OF TALENT

The Bronx and Manhattan are two separate NYC boroughs, so Manhattan can't be "the Bronx school."

Manhattan College is in the Bronx.

kinda like USF isn't in South Florida.

  4. Those shooting #s are atrocious, it has to get better, right? Memphis is a middle tier AAC team, we play them at home...this game should be winnable...right?

Hopefully its a case of playing down to our competition. We shall see

lol, you go right on thinking that...
Just shook my head when I read that, too, hoping there weren't any Memphis fans lurking about to read it.
They've only been to the tournament 18/20 years, or something like that. Handful of Sweet 16s and such tossed in there. No biggie.

Course, you do have to admit Calipari's gone now.

And they've got a .760 winning percentage under the new coach with back-to-back-to-back tourney appearances and conference championships since he left. Not so bad.

Not bad at all. Only time will tell if they can maintain.

Memphis is an amazing roundball town, so I'm thinking yes, but you never know..

I am not debating whether Memphis was an elite team in previous seasons, the evidence is there...This team to me looks good but not elite.

PG - Joe Jackson (five-star, senior)

    G - Chris Crawford (four-star, senior)

    G - Geron Johnson (four-star, senior)

    F - Austin Nichols (five-star, freshman)

    F - Shaq Goodwin (four-star, soph)

    ------------------

G - Mike Dixon (Mizzou transfer, Big12 6th man of the year)

F - David Pellom (GW transfer, senior)

five REALLY talented seniors...two gifted young big men...top-20 ranking...yeah, we're terrible.

  5.

Houston caught us looking ahead to Temple. We'll be ready for USF.

    I hope you're kidding.

UCF is an excellent team, and plays well on all facets.  But Houston was right were it wanted to be:  10 point underdogs, but with 1st & goal, down 5, at the end of the game.  They had 4 shots to win, but except for one narrowly missed TD pass on 3rd down, they didn't come close to winning.  UCF stood their ground at clutch time, and earned the big win.

Memphis, I'll say it again...the most underrated team in the AAC.  We may be favored by 4-5, since both records suck, and we're the home team.  But the Memphis D will harrass MWhite a lot more than Houston did, so we'll see how quick he develops.

I'm looking forward to seeing how our team responds to 2+ weeks to get ready, and a chance to salvage this season.  3 games are winnable, but not easy at all (SMU's offense is really good...maybe the widest open we'll see, save Miami).  RU will be tough, in NJ.  It'll take a miracle to beat UCF, but that's why they play the games.

Our defense is pretty **** good...so are special teams...but the offense is terrible. (penalties and turnovers are killing us)

we also haven't had much luck this season.
