Well this is rock bottom but honestly I feel a little bit of peace being here. We all kinda knew this was coming in the back of our minds and now, we can languish in acceptance. It cannot get worse.

So where to go from here? Looking back to the past literally does us ZERO GOOD at this point. Let’s forget about the #2 rankings and wins over big programs. The former rivalries and standout players. The great times we all had at Ray Jay or on road trips during an abbreviated aberration that was past USF football “success”.

    It’s time to reset.

For better or worse, and without placing blame on anyone, it’s time to get back to the early 2000s mindset of USF football when we barely existed. Because that’s pretty much where we are now, and the only way we’ll pull ourselves up is to renew that sense of optimism that we had back then.

Our football program is in its darkest spot ever, and needs hardcore fans like you like it never has. Don’t bail now. Stay and support Coach Scott with everything you have and you’ll be able to say you stuck around for an incredible redemption story.

This is hell, gentlemen. And we can stay here and burn individually, or climb ourselves back into the light as a unified fan base.

This is well said and most of us have stuck it out for many years. We keep renewing our season tickets, attending home games, paying our Alumni Assoc fees but at some point we need a little be of requited love. Keep in mind I will be sticking it out forever but the average person will not. Until they start putting a product on the field they are going to struggle with attendance. Until they start doing things to make people excited for game day people won't head up there. Keep in mind my group and I have our traditions. We tailgate the entire available time with our tailgate trailer, cornhole, TVs, we have things to bring people and attention to our tailgate. We chant the S O U T H  F L O R I D A as we go up the escalator at every game. But these are all our traditions. There needs to be something that binds us all to game day, to the tailgate etc. I know there is the teams entrance but there could definitely be more fanfare for that.

I am just saying we HAVE been loyal and it is time to start seeing some fruit from these efforts.

  2. I have used the digital option for Bulls games last season and Bucs games. There has been no back up at all. Truth be told the security at the gate seems to be a ton faster. It is just a matter of dealing with it ahead of time. Download the app. Send the tickets (parking and game) to your Apple wallet or Google Pay. Then it is already there when you hit the gate and you dont have to worry about network slowdowns. A little personal responsiblity goes a long way.

You should get lot 5, and front and center, just to show that bad boy off.

Maybe we should start a tradition of Tailgate Trailer Row.

    Make it happen John.

I would definitely be down to participate. We could call it something cool like "The Paddock"

As promised...maybe 90% the way to completion but Rocky's Hideaway is close enough to make it's debut on Saturday. Started as a flatbed in February 2020 and I thought it would take 2 months. In my defense, we added quite a bit to it...and also I am an accountant, not an engineer. It has a grill, 2 TVs, 8 barstools, a 9 foot bar with green/gold epoxy. It is dedicated to Big **** Cousin Rick(y) and inspired by Puc as an ode to the exalted CJL who also started in a trailer. Looks like we are going to try to beg for as much space as we can get in Lot 9.

That is truly an awesome sight. I am also an accountant and your trailer is far more creative than mine. lol. But I did mine this way so we could lock up all of our toys and such when going into the stadium.

I think I've seen your rig many times from across the path in lot 6 (although we never get to park in the same spot, we are always in the same general area).  Nice setup!  Excited to start tailgating again.

Thanks. Any and all are welcome to stop by. Just BYOB. :) Go Bulls.

How about on like Tuesday? It's not done yet! Big push this weekend!

Sounds good. We built ours a few years ago. My buddy and I got the trailer a few weeks before the season began and worked on it every night before the first game. Every year we try to find something else to add to it.

  7. I have been parking my truck and tailgate trailer at lot 7 for a few years now. my trailer is smaller so it allows more room behind the trailer to tailgate than one would have behind a truck or car. We are usually one of the first cars in line to get into the lot. They can't park you in the first row because it is single car only. So we usually get shuffled to the 2nd row since it is a pull through spots. The only arguments I have had with parking is convincing them to allow the cars following us (if there are any friends wanting to park with us) to park next to us. After years I have made nice with the guy that runs that lot. (no money exchanged hands).

It is true you will have to pay for two spots. This year I have actually prepaid for my spots in lot 7. It saved me $10 a game versus what I pay at the gate. Let me know if you have more questions. @chrisdashley and I have been doing this for years.

I think this intimates more is coming ..... maybe I'm wrong.

Recently, you should have received an email from UPS about tracking information for the first Season Ticket Member gift of the 2021 season. We are working hard to ship every package out quickly and we expect them to be delivered at some point next week.

I must have missed that one word that definitely changes the context of the sentence.

  9. I have been a fan of USF football for many years. I have felt the exuberance of the wins over Notre Dame, Auburn, FSU and the like. I have felt the burn of a horrible defeat. It seems over the last several years we have been in limbo. I was excited with the addtion of CJS. I considered last year to be Year -1 for him as you can't really blame him for the s*** show he inherited. I feel like they have made good moves and in the right direction since then. Do I expect a 360 degree turn around this year? No. That is unrealistic. I am however excited to see a better product on the field. I definitely want a win over UCif this year.
Like my friend always says even on the bad games the tailgating is always awesome.

I reached out the Alumni Association and they indicated there would be no block party this year due to the limited time post-COVID to plan. I am, for one, rather disappointed as it appears UF and FSU will both be having theirs.

Seriously? That's rediculous. There has been plenty of time.

  11. I am checking in to see what updates we have for football this fall. I know we will have our season tickets back, stadium will be allowed to be at full capacity and tailgating is back. I am curious about the other items like below.

    1. Bulls Fest - Will there be one this year? If so when and where?

    2.  Season Ticket packets - Now that Covid is behind us (ish). Will we be getting the boxes like we did the couple years prior to covid? Will it have another bobble head?

    3. In 2020 there was a Season Ticket holder reception at a basketball game.  Obviously Basketball is over and no so is baseball.

    4. Are there any other events that people have heard whisperings about?

John, I appreciate the response and your time as always.

Can you tell me if there will be any pregame activities like there normally is when it's on campus or is it bare bones this year? (which im totally fine with. Dialed back is better than nothing at all imo.)

Following for this answer. I have a small group coming with me and want to know if we just show up at game time or if there will be fanfare or something going on ahead of time.

  13. I do not understand the mindset of "Don't play because we will lose." That reminds me of the kids growing up that would be losing and they grab their ball and go home. Man up and play the game. If you think this team can do with out extra game time experience your are sadly mistaken. Also if Marshall and field a football and play a season after losing their entire team to a plane crash we can do the same after CCS. I have 8 tickets for Fridays game and will be there in my green and gold.
