Why hesitate then bring it out?

3rd down and long. Automatic ... 1st down.

BJ takes a bad sack. 4th down.

Good stop. Bulls have it back.

I don't know whether excited is the word I'd use. I'm more anxious than excited, but that's how I approached most game days.

Regardless of our record, why did everyone think that we'd have many fans going in the first place? The road game most of our fans will go to is Miami.
If memory servers me right, we had a couple of hundred there in 08 and 2010. Granted, that is not Miami numbers, but given we have few alumni in the area, compared to UofL alumni here, I think we do pretty good.
-
This the first time we've missed USF vs UofL since 2006. Wouldn't have been able to make it this year, regardless of record. Those that were able to go, I appreciate it and I know the team does.

Wonderful, now our safeties are going to be overly aggressive and break on balls they shouldn't. Big plays are about to kill us against Louisville..
Holy ****, Batman. I guess we're ****** either way, then.
Keep your arms and legs inside the vehicle at all times. Enjoy the ride.

The free tickets passed out by corporate season ticket holders to friends, family, employees, and clients fill Ray Jay so nicely, now.

Some good stuff from Greg's blog on the lack on interceptions. Coach Smith lays it on the feet of the safeties.
"The reason we don't have interceptions is our safeties do a terrible job of seeing the quarterback throw the football," said Smith, who said he expects a defensive back to be able to cover one-third of the distance of a pass once it's been thrown. "I took about six plays from pass-skel (drills) Sunday night and I said 'Habits are what we become.' Six plays where I had two or three people not breaking on the ball. That is a habit I've allowed to develop. That's on me. That's coaching. Not looking at the quarterback is coaching. I have to take responsibility for that. I'm trying to get that corrected."
Unfortunately, one of his incentives may have a negative effect.

And while the effectiveness of the incentive may be questioned, you can't argue with how much that first interception will mean to Smith, who has already told his players what's coming to whoever reels in that elusive pick: A kiss, on the mouth.
It'll be fine as long as he doesn't give tongue.

Yes, Gollum. He's looking at Frodo(Skip) now. Personally I think Frodo falls into a crack in Mt. Doom this time.Orlando!!!!!!!!!!!I'm strangely drawn to hoops threads... basketball season can't get here soon enough.
Stan picked a great time to make the basketball team relevant.
You think Stan had anything to do with this?? You think it's a coincidence that we have our best hoops season in history and, in the same year, we may have our worst football season in history? .... The Eye of Sauron has shifted its' gaze.
People who grew up watching basketball have no clue what u guys are talking about.
If you know of any, have them PM and I'll explain it to them ....
Send them my way, Trip. I read the Lord of the Rings Trilogy before most of you puppies were born and I grew up in Kentucky, where you eat, ****, and breath basketball.

Then there is always Kentucky, where they don't even want conference titles, just a couple of conference wins and a bowl game. Joker Phillip is toast there. Oddly enough, the UK faithful are talking about the same coaches we are.

Works for me.
At least we won't be eating pulled pork for breakfast.

Never heard back from the BoB manager that was going to try and get me in. To far to drive to go on a chance.

Season tickets are a great entertainment value, especially if you get the $99 package. Tax tag and title for 2 tickets and a season parking pass is about $367. That comes to a shade over 20 bucks a game for 2 people. You can't hardly go to the movies for that now-a-days.

Been to the last 2, but not this one. Great turn out last time.
If memory serves me right, the 08 game was a 3:30 start, but it was overcast near the end of the game. Ricky, you are correct, however, the visitors do face west.

This team needs more religious presence in the locker room.
Gene Chizick's wife blames Satan for Auburn's rough start.
There you go.

Might want to read the full article.
Ramil said he likes Holtz as a coach, was "totally impressed" with him in his personal interactions, and he fully supports Woolard's decision in June to give Holtz an extension through the 2017 season despite a 1-6 record in the Big East in 2011, citing interest from other top programs in hiring the coach away."He was a person in demand," Ramil said. "There were a couple of significant openings where he had ties to. I think it was a good, smart move. If we'd have lost him at the end of the season, the reaction would have been, 'Oh, my God, he lost four or five games in the last minute, he's got a great record. Why'd you let him get away?' "
Ramil said he often points to USF football's academic progress under Holtz, how nearly all the team's seniors will have graduated by December, how that improvement parallels higher standards for the university's overall admissions in recent years.
"Right now, given everything in balance, while I wasn't happy after the game, I think I should be patient. I think we all should be patient," Ramil said. "I think Doug Woolard's plan to work on things we can during the season and assess at the end is the right thing to do."
I wouldn't wave good-bye too hard. Not just yet anyway.

Should be getting our season tickets next week or the week after. I'm ready for some round ball.

Great, he understands. What's he going to do differently against Louisville?
I'm sure Louisville would like to know, too. He should have a special news conference to outline plan of attack. The Cards won't watch, seriously.
Not at all what I meant, but your snarky comment was funny. I'd be ecstatic if Skip really tried something out of the norm on both offense and defense against Louisville. If we're going to stink, I'd still love to see some creative fight in this coaching staff. I just don't think it's in his nature. I sincerely hope I'm proven wrong.
Rush 5 every down please. Rush 6 on 3rd downs. Just be f'ing aggressive.
He has to do something. We know it. He and his staff knows it. The players know it. If and what he does, we can only speculate. That's what makes this place GREAT!!!!

Thanks, you just reminded me to cancel the Trib subscription. 50 cents a day is way too much to pay for a crossword puzzle.

Wonder what mutt is wearing today. Probably the same as what he wears everyday, USF gear. Nobody gears up like mutt.
-
It's Homecoming. We'd be there if the team was 0-50, because Homecoming is more than about football. We'll be at most all of the homecoming activities.
