Naw, Rich Rod was ****.  It was the magic of Pat White, Slaton, Devine and Owen Schmitt (hard to find guys that bash their own heads in with their helmet and can play Fullback anymore).

WVU came into town, like the New York Yankees and were handed a loss due to very poor officiating if I recall.  You mooboys got lucky that night.

Going on 10 years and you are bringing up "officiating?"......Nah, that had nothing to do with it. Nice try though.

    I can't fault him, but....

It is very possibly just me, but College Football is slowly dying to me. The inequalities of the haves vs. have-nots is quickly taking all of the joy out of the sport for me. In the space of a week, the AAC has now lost ALL THREE of its top coaches. I'm slowly concluding that it's basically impossible for any of the G5 schools to get into "big time" football because no one else wants any more "P5-level" schools. Not the media companies, not the other schools, and not the other fans. Basically, the only people who want G5 schools to move "up" are those very G5 schools and they have no actual power to make it happen.

So the G5 schools are now stuck in a system where they will be continually poached for coaching talent... over and over and over again. This will ensure that the P5 schools keep getting an influx of good young coaches, and it will ensure that the top-level G5 schools will stay there in the G5.

It's all by design. ESPN/Media and the P5's colluded to ensure this. It's a "stacked deck" which in turn goes against the grain of what sports should be about....It is all based on greed to ensure their success. Pathetic. There are negative parallels relating to season tickets, trying to grow the fan base and overall excitement in the area. Programs with a history of success will bounce back pretty quickly relating to these areas but the USF brand is fragile and it will be interesting to see how momentum is affected.

ESPN talking heads are lame, except for live sports I don't watch ESPN, especially hate it when one of the affirmative action lesbians are calling football games.

ESPN is a joke. Nothing more than Enhanced Social Propaganda Network. The broadcasts and shows consist of nothing more than repeated soap opera dreck (ad nauseum),hypothetical questions, over-the-top exaggeration and phony exuberance. Sports talk radio and local news (tv) all follow the same script. It's all a joke.

  4. Put me on record as supporting the extension 100%.  This is not a Holtz-Woolard situation by any means.  3 years in, I was done with Holtz.  3 years into the CWT era, I'm having more fun watching USF football than I have, perhaps since 2009.

Your post jogged a memory. I remember the first game of 2012 when we played Chattanooga, we ended up winning 34-13, however, I could see something was terribly wrong with Holtz's coaching style. The players were lethargic, had no emotion and you could see the smoke (ala' the last days of Pompeii). We should have won that game by 45.

  5. The debt will be a burden in the short-term. However, to gain traction for an invite to a larger conference, the stadium will be a factor, subsequently, more revenue will be generated in the long-term (via' the conference upgrade).

One can't help but ponder the fact that UCF just hired (allegedly, per the reports this a.m.) a coach that won a Natl. Championship in the Big 12, He may be able to add some influence as it relates to expansion. Consider our situation compared to UCF's.
