  1. Per article - "Look at Sam Cassell, he looks like an alien mated with a human and then smashed it's face in with a brick at birth." That's just F'd up. I personally wouldn't sleep with the guy, but c'mon he's not that bad looking of a guy. Well when you're rich and famous it doesn't matter how you look. Some of the finest females on the planet will think you're a beautiful person. Look at Tyrone "Tea Time" Hill. As one article said, "he's the walking definition of ugly." Yet this guy had a beautiful wife and gets to cheat with many other women.
  2. Like Nike says, "Just do it." You can never have enough talented back court players. I'm surprised his dad's alma mater, FSU, isn't recruiting Jr. **** right just do it. Jr is going to play PG in college and I sure don't want him at UCONN or UCF lighting up our PGs over the next few years. Jr has blown up so much these last few months that 1 website has him rated in the top 25 prospects for the class of 2012. On another note 2013 prospect Steve Haney a 6-6 wing out of St. Thomas Aquinas (FL) took another unofficial visit to the campus about a week ago. He is also being recruited by Stanford, Oregon St, Drake, Akron, ISU, UCF & FAU. He did visit Michigan and Detroit but those schools are not in it.I believe USF, UCF, or FAU for him right now.
  3. Like Nike says, "Just do it." You can never have enough talented back court players. I'm surprised his dad's alma mater, FSU, isn't recruiting Jr. Per Rivals, they are ... The way this article is worded, it looks like those listed are newer schools with interest. Yeah UCONN has apparently turned up their level interest. Jr also has his dad's jumper and form which is that fade away on every shot. It isn't how you would teach someone to shot but as long as it goes in at a high % who cares. Well Jr has hair on his head and is a little darker which helps, but you can definitely tell he's Sam's son.
  4. he 6-foot-2 Cassell Jr. went for 40 points last Friday against Winchendon and is now hearing from UConn, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech, USF, UCF, Washington, Maryland and Seton Hall, Hurd and Cassell Jr. said. “I think I can bring energy to a team along with some scoring,†Cassell Jr. told SNY.tv. Said Hurd: “Everyone’s calling on him now. He’s played himself into being the best available guard. He’s blowing up.†http://www.zagsblog....-is-blowing-up/
  5. Package duo pops for South Florida In recent years, South Florida has relied on junior college transfers perhaps as much as any program in a BCS conference. That may be changing as coach Stan Heath seeks to add stability to the Bulls program with over four seasons under his belt now. So-called package deals are rare in college basketball recruiting, perhaps occurring less often than the average fan might believe. The Bulls though, have landed a duo that is unquestionably a package deal in the 2013 class, current high school juniors, as evidenced by the fact that the players live within the same household. Team Georgia Elite teammates Drew Davis, a 6-0 guard and John Egbunu, a 7-0 center, both attend Eagle’s Landing (Ga.), but do not play at the school, instead playing on the Christian schools tournament circuit, for long-time AAU and high school coach Linzy Davis, Drew’s father. Egbunu is a native of Nigeria that resides in the Davis home. While Davis is thought to be a decent shooter, the prize here is Egbunu. He had plenty of high-major interest before pulling the trigger for South Florida. He’s an active and potential filled interior player that could rise up the charts. With three junior college players already signed for next season, Egbunu will be given the opportunity to develop behind an experienced roster as a senior, and could be a strong player in the decimated Big East. I think it's safe to say that USF will probably sign another PG for the 2013 class with Dority leaving and Davis not considered that great of prospect at this point by the recruiting experts. At least I haven't found anybody other then his father that considers him a great PG prospect. We'll just have to see. http://beyondthearc....jarnell-stokes/
  6. We'll find out more next spring and summer. Ofcourse living in Georgia I found out first hand how good the basketball can be. Frankly I never understood why USF doesn't put more money into recruiting that state instead of way up north, and those youngsters will leave the state to play elsewhere. Like I already said there is nothing wrong with getting the son of a well known and powerful AAU coach to come play at USF. There will be benefits.
  7. Barring a miracle only a step below of the parting of the Red Sea, Heath won't get to coach these boys at USF. Coach Roc might but Stan... Now getting a commitment from the son of a well known and powerful AAU Coach like Linzy Davis does have it's benefits.
  8. IF he does then he'll be the head coach at USF for years to come. Right now I have a hard time seeing Heath coach past this season. Also with bringing in so many Juco and transfers Heath is really going to handicap the next head coach in future recruiting.
  9. Just be thankful that we have Coach Cox on the staff. Just think how bad the talent would be if he wasn't pulling some of these JC players we are getting.Yes Donnie Jones is a rising star and he is doing it the right way at UCF. I'm confident that we will start getting good HS talent in our program too...just have to wait a little while longer.
  10. UCF should be invited to the BE. The basketball rivalry in and out of season will be heated and generate a buzz throughout the BE. Both teams would benefit Nationally with more exposure.
  11. Exactly bullgrad10. STAN HEATH HAS FAILED IN THIS RECRUITING SEASON! Good Lord, quit being so freaking melodramatic ... yesterday was signing day?? Plus, based on past history, a better headline woud be "USF HAS FAILED IN THIS RECRUITING SEASON ..... AGAIN!" To deny that this doesn't go beyond the head coach is to admit you haven't been following USF hoops very long. What's even more perplexing is that DW came from a hoops school .... IF that is true, maybe the out of state talent is/was worth waiting for .... and what is this "we" stuff? I thought you came out of the closet as an SEC fan? Well I like SEC FB and I see no crime in that. I also use to like the USC Trojans FB team under Pete Carroll too. Right now I'm following USF, Auburn, and Bama. As for Heath's recruiting...yes I understand the problems in the past at USF, but once again USF wasn't in the Big East which that along should help recruiting be better then what it has been. Everybody doesn't have a long history of winning and/or great facilities. The reason why I write the stuff I do is because as a fan of Stan's I'm worried about his and the program's future. You win with players in collegiate sports and I'm afraid that we won't have enough to do that in the near future. Toro I haven't totally thrown in the towel but I have lost confidence in this staff to land good HS talent. He's a list of guys that I hope we can still be a player for Mike Taylor Shane Larkin Greg Lewis Phil Greene Kelvin Amayo As you see that is a very short list. I search all through recruiting sites and sources and I can't find any more good HS players with any interest in USF. Right now I would be happy with a trio of Greene, Larkin, and Lewis. I like Amayo but if we get him then that would mean no Larkin.
  12. Exactly bullgrad10. STAN HEATH HAS FAILED IN THIS RECRUITING SEASON! No one can defend him this time as he had a fair shot to impress the Harris family along with 6 other schools and quite simply he swung and missed effectively ending any hope of having just a solid 2011 class. I followed this closely as I was trying to put a finger on why USF is so terrible at closing. The in home visit is the most critical area of recruiting. That's when the HEAD COACH, not an assistant coach, but the head man himself gets to sit down face to face with a prospect and sell his university, area, team, and himself. A huge USF fan talks to me at work and he can't understand why Heath doesn't recruit the state hard and early instead of going out of state and attempting to sign players that are not much better or might not be as good as the home guys. Central Florida's HC is adopting that strategy and having success. They have commits from 3 of the top 6 players in state and USF did have interest but instead wanted to make the guys wait to see is we could secure some out of state talent. Last year, this year, and the next year had or has enough talent to fill all of USF's needs and I'm not sure we will get any of them. Well Shane Larkin is the only one left that we know can play in the Big East. He's not a project like what we are likely to sign again.
  13. 3 of the top 6 rated where? http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketball/recruiting/prospects/_/class/2011/state/fl
  14. I'll start a topic on him soon, but PG Shane Larkin had an in-home with Colorado today. Rumor has it that Boston College, South Florida, and Col are three schools very high on Larkin's list. In some bad news UCF has struck again. They got a commitment from PF Wayne Martin today. That gives the Knights 3 of the top 6 rated players in fact numbers 4, 5, and 6 to be precise. USF had interest in all three btw.
  15. Tyler Harris will visit Providence on Oct 15th after Keno Davis wowed him with a home visit yesterday. Stan Heath is in the Harris home today so we'll see how he does. Also add Cincy as another lower level BE school having a great recruiting season.
  16. It will take someone with real in depth basketball recruiting sources to find any players other then the 4 or 5 we know about that USF kinda has a decent chance of getting. It is very, very hard to find anything on players rated outside the top 250 to be able to tell who they are looking at. Right now it's looking more and more like that's where USF will be recruiting to find a big man. Although I would expect us to bring in a JC big and/or transfer sometime in the spring. Greg Lewis might be our only hope at getting a Big that at least is considered a high D-1 prospect. I'm not certain but Waverley Austin might be a 2011 recruit now so maybe USF gets back evolved with him.
  17. Tyler visited Uconn yesterday. Nothing really noteworthy to report. He stayed a short time, played pickup with the players, and met Calhoun.
  18. I agree with you on what we need the most with this class and on Reggie Hanson. Frankly other than Cox no other assistant coach has brought talent in for their boss.
  19. USF is on that list. St. John's, North Carolina State, Wake Forest, Providence, Iowa, and Connecticut round out his seven. Harris will have in homes with all 7 schools and sign with one of them this November. Also in my bottom feeders on the rise update. Rutgers just got another blue chip commitment with PG Myles Mack(12th rated PG) now joining Kadeem Jack(8th rated PF) who committed yesterday. In 2 days they got a highly touted Big man and PG. That's how you big a winning team right there. Outstanding job by Coach Mike Rice and I now expect Mike Taylor to join train.
  20. In order for that to have happen USF would have had to taken Marcus over Mike Burwell and that would have been a down grade imo. Marcus Jordan was not recruited by a single hign major school until very late in the process. He really played hard down the stretch to earn the offers he did and UCIF was a good choice by him. He'll represent himself well there. Jordan Dumars didn't need to prove himself late and already had his school chosen.
  21. You my friend are the biggest idiot on this board. I also must be the most powerful person on this board since you and others took the time to go through registration just to attempt to slam me. Maybe it is my magnetic personality. Nope sorry, you're not that important, I registered on Oct 25th. The **** that you write down hardly makes you the most powerful. You would have had a better case if you would have registered on Oct. 25 2007 I might have to agree with Old Coach you are here because of me. I do believe that I have been upsetting the Knights' fan base before the 25th of Oct. You know if you weren't so smart...cough...cough... to paste that info I would have never looked it up to prove a point. You actually could have got that by me.
  22. Vega, they are here because of you mostly. Your ignorant posts about UCF on the recruiting board and how "USF will beat them by 25" gives them all the right to come here and pay you back. If you were not such a fool, they would simply be here for a day to gloat and go way, but you can't seem to give credit where credit is due. Gus Gilcrist - the hiring of a street agent and giving him an unposted job in this economy where budget cuts are costing Universities to cut jobs only raised a red flag on a coach that was thought to live in the grey area at Arkansas. With both VT and Maryland asking the ACC President to look into this situation, the NCAA will not be far behind. Now Vega and others will disagree, but facts are facts and what I posted above are just that. You should really learn a little more about college athletics before you put out a post like that. To call someone else post ignorant and you put out a post of facts with none attached is just stupid. I will admit I don't follow VT but I know a little about Maryland and let me tell you they have far more problems internally and on the court then to be tossing dirt on USF. If the NCAA believed their side of the story then Gus Gilchrist wouldn't be playing this season at USF period. Like I said earlier take some time and catchup on your college athletics and get an eye opener about recruiting you will see Stan broke no rule when he hired Woody. Now this is the 2nd time you brought up Stan maybe playing a little dirty at Arkansas and I'm CALLING YOU OUT ON THIS. Tell me what do you mean by that? If you are going to throw dirt on the man then have a reason to do so. Let me warn you that I know all about Stan at Arkansas and going back to his MSU days as a top recruiter and the Kent State situation. If you have the nerve to post some dirt on Stan I will know if it's true or not.
