I haven't seen a UCF commercial since Football season but if it's a new one about being the most desirable University in Florida that's more a shot at UF and FSU then USF. UCF is so far ahead to care about USF, that would be like taking a shot at FIU
Ahhhhh, I remember USF fans talking about UCF that way. Shoot, I remember the first thing my Gator buddy said when I told him I was going to FSU over UF for grad school... "Have fun watching terrible football the rest of your life." We saw how right he was.
It's cyclical. Enjoy it while you can Knights....and I honestly mean that because y'all are kickin some ass right now. Hopefully USF has something to say about it in the near future.

Can't believe I forgot about Shouppe. I even went to a couple FAMU games this season to check things out and it's extremely impressive what he has done there. I was hoping they'd make a run in the MEAC tourney.

Mike Bell should be the number one target, but it will be tough getting him away from FSU.
-
You've got a good 60+ years to see good USF football.
That's the problem! Haha

Students will come when we win. The current classes in there right now haven't seen great football in years. To some of them, USF has sucked since they arrived at college.
The oldest students remember 2010...maybe 2009 if you've hung out an extra semester or two.
Win football games and the stadium will fill up, plain and simple.
I graduated this past spring so I saw some solid USF football and upsets in my day. I would be telling the younger kids on campus "We used to be good! The stadium used to be pretty full! I promise!" Im 22 and already afraid that USF football has peaked in my lifetime. Sad.

It was Devonta Freeman because he put up "the U" after scoring, but the moron posted a picture of Tim Jernigan from a couple years ago also throwing up "the U".

Kid was one of the best HS kickers in the country coming out of HS. A friend up here at FSU played HS soccer with him and couldn't believe he chose USF over some of his other offers on the table. Good for us, though!
Edit: he also couldn't get into UF, so that didn't hurt our chances either haha.

Thanks for the insight. I'm not around anymore to follow too closely. I checked the RPI and we're 85th (before the draw with #119 SIU-E). Hopefully next year we get back into the top 25!

Was the drop off this season expected? It's a very down year by the standards Coach Kiefer has built for this program.
-
As someone who graduated in May and missed one game in my 4 years (for reasons out of my control) and traveled to a few, that student section pisses me off. If I was still down there I'd be in that stadium every dang weekend.

after the 1st game a 10
after the 2nd game a 3
after the 3rd game a 10
after the 4th game a 3
That sums it up for me, as well. With this roster just win the games you should win, but apparently that is asking too much.

Lol some UCF grads I met in grauduate school UCF was an after thought.Right.... I have family that graduated recently from UCF.... there is no culture of pride there. LOL
Not kidding with this one:
I'm in grad school at FSU and one of my buddies in the program once claimed he is prouder of his diploma from Cypress Bay HS than UCF lol. He loves Orlando and the environment down there, but not so much the actual school.

Wait, here's a better idea. Can we get USF into a Juco league?
-
Oh ffs. I give up.
ALL OF THE JUCOS
-
Difference between adding a stud to an already solid team and adding a stud to a team of misfits. Gotta build the base for this program all over again.
Edit: I understand bringing in juco guys to a young team like ours. Just talking more to the fact we need a total rebuild, not just a few plug-in players.

Short term bandaid won't fix a gaping wound.

I see. So how many butts in seats did you guys have for those games.
2005: 45, 139 at Raymond James Stadium
2006: 46,708 at the Citrus Bowl
2007: 65,948 at Ray Jay
2008: 46,805 at Brighthouse Networks Stadium
Attendance numbers actually are pretty close to butts in seats for these games.
This year will be a sellout in Orlando and next year will probably be a minimum of 50k in Tampa.

Similar to the score from last year.

At Doak they have signs around the concession stands advertising that 70 cents of every dollar spent on concessions at Doak goes right back into FSU athletics or to Seminole Boosters. While USF obviously wouldn't be selling as much due to the smaller crowd, that money would still be huge for USF.

Sporting News just came out with their basketball preview mag and has us finishing dead last.
1. Louisville
2. Memphis
3. UConn
4. Cincinnati
5. SMU
6. UCF
7. Houston
8. Temple
9. Rutgers
10. USF
They list Egbunu as one of the top 10 newcomers in the conference.

Aren't we on sanctions ourselves? Does that offset any Penn State excuses?
Y'all have 13 more scholarships than PSU, so not quite.
-
Not trying to flame, but besides that Georgia bowl game, has UCF beaten a P5 team that wasn't on some sort of sanction by the NCAA?
NC State in 2007, and Boston College but forget the year.

I'm not one to say whether someone is a, "true fan" or not, but I'm not sure how you can consider yourself, "a hard-core, diehard, fan" if you want to get a boat so you can do something other than support your school and team.
I "want to" get a boat. But I can't seem to let go of the ticketes because I want to support my school and team even more. That's how I can say that.
Many on here would say you can't possibly be a "true fan" if you're harboring those feelings. "True fans" go down with the ship...or so the argument goes lately.
Screw that, if the man wants to buy a boat, buy a boat. If you know you and your family would enjoy a Saturday on a boat more than USF football games then do that. Don't let the idea of being a message board 'true fan' stop that. And just because you get a boat doesn't mean you can't grab tickets to a game or two a year. I mean, we have some realllllly cheap options for single game tickets.
No baseball coach is apparently no problem for recruiting

Valdes has actually been committed for over a month now. Good to see the coaching change didn't sway him to look elsewhere.
