I'm on board with the notion that getting back to bowl eligibility is doable and would be great progress, but wouldn't go so far as calling that one of the greatest turnarounds in CFB history if it comes to past. Not even in the conversation, IMO. Hell, Connecticut went from 2 wins, to 1 win, to 6 wins last year and no one is calling that one of the best turnarounds in history. Probably happened a dozen or more times in the past decade.

Rentschler field is where USF dreams have been dying since the Big East days. It's a sleepy low lit energy vortex.
It’s where a stoppable force meets a movable object.

With the less competitve conference, I would expect mostly improved results across the board. Is that wrong?
I was able to add more reps to my bench press! All I had to do was take weight off the bar! Looks like I'm getting stronger!

I think CAG would be better served if he slowed down the offense a little bit to save the defense some heartache

If USF beats UConn then I like their chances of beating both Temple & Charlotte. To me that would be a solid first season.
Yes. Increasing our win total from 1 to 3 is nice, but meaningless if all we do is finish by getting blown out left and right. The wheels haven't fallen off, but they're wobbling. UConn is 1-5 and coming off their only win (vs. Rice, ha) and a bye week. This is Golesh's chance to set himself apart from Scott. We need this win to get back on track and salvage the season -- another blowout loss and we're back in the ditch.

The 8 or 9 DC's we've had in the last 4 years cannot have been this bad. I think we're going to need a couple of recruiting cycles to fully assess ..... and yes, the portal should help, but at our level it's not like free agency at the professional level. It's more like an expansion draft.
We've given up 253 points so far in the first seven games. The only season we've started worse than that was last year (263 points). We've allowed 225+ points to start a season only four times in our history and all four were the past four seasons.

There's 133 FBS teams, we're definitely getting left out.

The bar is so low we doubled our fbs win total from the last 3 years. How should we celebrate if we hold Uconn to 42 or less points?
With USF marketing's history, we'd probably print it on a UCONN-blue shirt, get the opponent wrong, misspell something, and only print 10% of the amount needed.

It doesnt matter if we lose a bit of money in the short term, the erosion of our brand is far more damaging. We should be independent playing as many away games against power 5 teams as possible.
We can turn ourselves into the CFB equivalent of the Washington Generals and change our fight song to Sweet Georgia Brown.

Six years ago the University hired an AD with no experience in running a successful athletic department. When it was time to make his first major hire said AD decided to hire an unproven HC with no experience and no real OC experience. After this hire flames out in epic fashion said AD decides to go and hire another unproven HC with no experience and questionable OC experience. Failed leadership at all levels.
And we wonder why we’re in the state we are.
Don't forget about the AD extending said Football HC after a 3-18 start as well as the Basketball HC after a 64-89 tenure as well as the rest of the underperforming athletic department. No one brings out or rewards failure quite like VPMK.

There was talk last week about whether this game would be a new rivalry; and all that played out in the press, and we have handed that notion to them onto a silver platter.
The last two times we’ve played them, we’ve lost 10-28 and 14-56. We have a lot of work to do before this would be considered a rivalry.
Right now FAU is our rival in the same way a lion is a rival to a gazelle.

He needs to recruit and get his own guys in. We can't just keep banking on these leftovers from P5 programs that can't make it. It's impossible to keep asking for patience but it is what it is. We have a big shot next week to be 4-4 going into November and despite getting dogged these last two weeks by CUSA teams, everyone would've taken 4-4 going into November at the start of the year.
UCONN, Temple, Charlotte. Figure it out, temporarily patch this thing by beating those three and no one can be disappointed with 6-6 after the last several years. Heck, lose one of those and 5-7 still beats Vegas expectations and is more wins in year one than the last 3.
Tom Herman didn’t need to wait to get his guys in to whoop our asses.

Wish we wouldn’t have thrown back to the Sterlin Gilbert offense and the Raymond Woody defense.

So why did we hire fau's fired dc twice in row?
We hired their crappy coaches away so they could hire good ones and then whoop our asses

Yes! There is a 12 step program to get over USF football:
- Blowout loss to CUSA
- Struggling win against FCS
- Close loss to Top 10 team
- Nice conference win
- Frustrating conference win
- Anomalous blowout loss?
- Consecutive blowout loss?!
...
And so on until you've reached the 12th step which is probably a blowout loss and voila! You're over USF football!
Until next year.

We don’t have to worry about the media talking about us collapsing at the end of the game like Colorado, UCF, and Miami since we just do our collapse at the beginning so no one talks about us at all.

Todd Orlando’s UConn defense against USF (2005-2010): 20.5 ppg
Todd Orlando’s USF defense through 7 games: 36.1 ppg
Raymond Woodie’s USF defense: 31 ppg
Brian Jean-Marie’s USF defense: 28.4 ppg
Chuck Bresnahan’s USF defense: 27.8 ppg
Chris Cosh’s USF defense: 27.4 ppg

It's irritating me to see competent teams.
I'll probably flip back to the Lightning after the intermission.
Watching USF lessens my enjoyment of college football as a whole.

Just trust the process. Pay no attention to the Jeff Scott behind the curtain.

Bit of an understatement. We struggled to score in the way that a paraplegic struggles to walk.
