  1. Will this be on espn3?

Yes, but not in an area that it's picked up by a local provider. If you're in Tampa/Orlando it'll be on Bright House and blacked out from ESPN3.

Unless you watch it through your ipnone, then it will work on espn3. the watch espn app on the iphone does not take into account blackout rules. I watched all blacked out games my home pc this way last year. I am not sure if it works with an ipad. You may have to tether it to your iphone not your home wifi network.

  2. A real problem I do have on occasion (IE9)

After writing my internet drivel I hit post. The little waiting animation will start and the post will never post. I generally just select the whole post (Ctrl+A), copy it (Ctrl+C), refresh the page (F5), and then paste (Ctrl+P) it back in. I don't think I've had the error happen after refreshing the page, but it does happen quite often.

Ditto, I employ the same fix as well.

  3. From a recent ESPN story "The amount the Big East receives for its new media deal could be a huge factor in attracting BYU, Air Force or Army, sources said. Media estimates have projected the Big East's deal annually will be worth between $60 million to $130 million. Those figures would translate to between $3 million to $6.5 million for each football-only member and $4 million to $8.7 million for each full member."

Anyone else think that seems kind of low?

His "media estimates" = my ESPN bosses told me to say this.

the whole article was written for 2 reasons, to further devalue us as a conference and to CREATE bad blood between the BE and BYU. the infamous "industry source" has emerged again to wreck havoc.

  4. Bingo!

I read the artcile this morning regarding adding BYU. The artcile pissed me off for 2 reasons.

    1. It makes it look like BYU and the BE are some jaded ex lovers and that they are going to come crawling back once the new TV deal is in place...... The best part is it a quote from the famous "industry source" aka this is ESPN's way of trying to add fuel to a fire that is not there. They have been doing this to the BE for years now.

    2. The per school payouts seem really low. How can a "respectable" journalist entity remain objective when they are reporting on an entity they are engaged in contract negotiations with? Of course they are going to devalue the product publicly in order to make it look less appealing so they pay less for it. Are we the SEC, no, but we are definately on par or close to the ACC. The problem ESPN has is we are the last conference in the market and they dont want the competition to get any additional programming.

I think the BE is going to NBC and will end up with weekly primetime BROADCAST TV games and possible afternoon games. All of the other games will end up on NBC sports. This is great visibility for all involved and an upgrade to all involved. Even if full members get $12-15M per school and Football only members get $7-10M per school. This would be an upgrade for all BE schools and BYU if you were to join. We could use the $45M in exit fees to buy BYU out of the Football portion portion of the TV contract, and they can renegotiate the TV deal for BBall and all other sports. Better tv deal, more exposure, and a possible BB scheduling agreement makes this a win win for all of us. Trying to schedule 12 football games per year is tough to do. This will give them quality opponents on a yearly basis and still allow them to schedule ND, Utah, etc. It may not be a bad deal for yus. Its just a thought.

  5. $4-8.7 million per full memeber...... ouch.... We better get north of $14M per school in the open market. I think this is ESPN trying to devalue the conference even more. Hard to be considered an objective journalist organization when you are reporting on your own contract negotiations. How much would it be to buy out BYU from their current TV contract with ESPN? We have $45 million in the bank.

  6. I don't blame Doug or Judy for all this conference shuffling and USF getting left out, all the so called winners in this war are established programs. My anger returns to all the USF presidents and hippie professors who were dead set against football for all those years. They failed to realize the football is an extension of the marketing department and the front porch of the University. If USF began playing football in the 1960s our fan base and donor support would be significantly greater. We probably would of had some form of an on-campus stadium, and its hard to imagine that we would not have established rivalries with either UF, FSU, and Miami and most importantly we would probably have been offered ACC membership during their early rounds of expansion. (In my opinion our best and natural home to eventually land our program)

USF Football is just 15 years old. We have really not done anything spectacular. We were at the time one of if not the largest public universities without a football program. We also do not have a history of strong academics that would hold athletics back, so rising to Division 1 and having marginal success is not that great of a feat. We have a lot of potential and room for growth.

I see your point, but I dont think we would be where we are today without Lee Roy Selmon. He is the one responsible for us leap frogging UCF. He was a great leader and had a vision for us. Without him we would have never left CUSA or even been admitted to CUSA. Sorry, but I feel your agrument is flawed.
