  1. really??? i thought he was looking at us seriously. wanted to stay home. didn't he show up to practice with his coach.?
  2. Thinking 10-3 with a stupid loss on the road... and a lose 2 of 3 to Auburn, WV, Louisville. Finish the season 3rd in the Big East. Maybe the Gator bowl will show us some love.
  3. Any updates or news on that story from you guys at the St Pete times or Tribune?? That would be an enormous signee.
  4. I think its worth talking about... Gotta believe Wojo -- or Chris Collins will be looked at.
  5. indeed... don't think we will win that one -- but if we can keep it close that would be huge. Gators lost at Auburn this year... so its surely a big task.
  6. With the exception of a trip to Auburn and a trip to Pitt, gotta believe next year could be a breakout year for the football team. Home Games: West VA Louisville UNC Cinci UCF Elon Road Games: Rutgers UCONN Cuse Pitt Auburn FIU
  7. USF wins maybe 2 conference games. We finish the season a consistent 10-16 and Mac gets fired a year to late. Woolard is going to hire a hot shot young assitant from one of the big programs like Duke or UNC to try to bring some credibility to the program and to the boosters. Woolard only gave Mac another year because he is Lee Roy Selmon's hire. It is curtins for MAC. Sorry. We have UAB, Wake Forest, BCC, then the Big East. Please find me 3 wins in that schedule. 10-16 and we start fresh next year with a Chris Collins or some other young guy who is willing to take the marginal salary.
  8. I can't believe people on this board are so blinded by loyalty that they will defend 3 consecutive losses to Texas AM Corpus Crist, UNLV, Missouri State. I think that is why this darkside vs. optimists confrontation continues. The darksiders can't understand how anyone can support these results.
  9. I don't know what to say. The optimists are just so funny at this point. Next up is UAB, then Wake Forest, then Boofoon Cookman, then Big East. I can't see us winning three more games this year. Gonna get ugly.
  10. I get really tired of the negative posts that offer no insight.
  11. I sometimes wonder if some people on this board are just fans - or lacking some meds. BE coach of the year? Post-season win? are you kidding me? I honestly believe that he will be lucky to make it through the season with his job. I think AD Woolard wants to pull the plug on him, but has been reluctant because he is Lee Roy Selmon's hire. I think he will be fired at the end of the year and I think he knows it. He needs to win 16 games to keep his job. My humble opinion.
  12. I think a person who is the head basketball coach at one of the ten biggest schools in the country is going to have more then negetive threads posted about him when he fails to finish out of the bottom quarter of his conference every year he has held the position. Did anyone see the posts on the Alabama board about Mike Shula?  and he went 10-2 last year. How about the calls for Lloyd Carr's head the past two seasons in Ann Arbor?  the guy had his team on the cusp of a national title this year.... but was going 8-4 -- 7-5. And Tyrone Willingham at Notre Dame..  They bought his contract out a season after he started 10-0. Coach Mac has underperformed at every level at USF.  These fans that post these threads want nothing but a winner.  That is all.  They don't want to bash the Univesity.  They aren't disloyal.  They want something to cheer about over at the Sun Dome, and what they have gotten over the last 15 years is not good. I think a person who supports a general with a bad war strategy is more disloyal then a person who criticizes someone who is taking them down the wrong road. Just my humble opinion. You guys would have supported Ron Zook.
  13. I just think a basketball coach should be winning more games then he is losing. That would be my barometer. If you get a job and have four consecutive losing seasons then I think you should be let go.
  14. study after study after study after study after study shows that sports franchises offer little to no positive economic impact on a city. They bring in very little tax revenue to the general fund, and mostly cost taxpayes money over the long run. sports teams are like nice cars. it feels good to have them, but at the end of the day, they cost money. most citizens are happy to pay for them, that is why the exist. but the idea that channelside and international plaza wouldn't exist is off base. people like the bucs and they are willing to pay to keep them around. it gives them something to do on sundays
  15. Jim, What do you need to be informed about with respect to Coach Mac and his resume?
