  1. I have never seen more than one chop block call in a game. We had at least 3. Has to be something in the coaching.
  2. Not going. Too much travel from Jax four weeks in a row is bad for the home life. I would have put up with it, if we had competed Saturday. Watching on TV this week.
  3. This game along with the "high powered teams" is making for good scheduling in the years to come.
  4. Question... Does a "gang of 5" team still get access if, for instance, a Big East team qualifies for the playoff?
  5. Haven't referenced an article before, but thought you guys would want some good news out of Jax. Jaguars Notebook: DE George Selvie is making most of opportunity Ryan O'Halloran November 12, 2012 7:41 PM EST Contract or no contract for next year, what a 1-8 record has produced for the Jaguars is a weekly audition for every player. That includes impending restricted free agent defensive end George Selvie, who was injured in the preseason, forcing him to delay his start to the regular season. Selvie, 25, sustained a sprained knee Aug. 25 at Baltimore and didn’t play until Week 6 at Oakland. He’s tried to make up for the lost time by contributing 13 tackles, one sack, one tackle for lost yardage and five quarterback hits in four games. “I feel like I’m getting back into the groove of things,†he said after practice on Monday. “I started off with a smaller role and have progressively gotten a bigger role.†Selvie’s workload has been 18 snaps against the Raiders, followed by 29 (Green Bay), 31 (Detroit) and 29 (Indianapolis). The Jaguars were conservative with Selvie’s road back. He returned to limited practice Oct. 3 and went through his first full workout on Oct. 17. He played his first game on Oct. 21. “I respect the fact they wanted me to be patient and I wanted to be healthy — I didn’t want to go out there early and set myself back,†Selvie said. “We tested it each week.†Selvie felt back to full speed against Detroit, when he chased down a scrambling Matthew Stafford for a sack. “I had a couple of plays when I came free for a hit and I was like, ‘I can get back there, but I’m missing a small step,’†Selvie said. “[Against Detroit], I got a chance to open it up, so that was good.â€
  6. Said I wouldn't give them a dime when I left, they sucked me back in with football. It is over.
  7. My son is playing Pop Warner football this year, and at the beginning his Coach asked that parents wait 24 hours before making comments. I thought that was wise advice. I am breaking that rule tonight. I am sick of being almost competitive. Our defense is fat and slow. Nobody wants to make a play. I don't care if the people in the "know" think we are asking for too much. We had a team team that people tallked about if nothing else. Now we are nothing. How much lower does this team need to sink for something to be done. Personally, last season was unprecedented and changes should have been made then. A retread defensive coordinator from a league that does not play defense? Come on. This garbage takes away dollars from my family and travel time (weekends are a waste, travelling from Jax). I will stay logged in tonight to take any comments anyone want to throw at me, but after the last two years, I can't see throwing money away on this crap anymore.
  8. Don't know how to put this in words, but I'll try. Our defense looks fat and lazy.
  9. coph, disagree I say we're better than most of the MWC and it has shown. Scheduling this on a short week before a conference opponent, with the travel out west, and the elevation change, is not something most schools would do if given the choice.
  10. This had all the makings of a trap game. It was a bonus to get the win. I know we had to do this on the fly, but it is poor scheduling to let the suits schedule a Thursday night game after a trip out west. Unprecedented. Go Bulls!
