  1. Your defense is fast. It's a much better defense than we KU fans expected. Our defense stepped up when it had to. FWIW. Barrman played the best game he's played in A LONG TIME. The Kansas OL is not big, but they are all great pass blockers. That's why we couldn't run the ball unless we caught USF off guard, and also why you had a tough time getting a pass rush. It's amazing the depth you guys must have, because word is you lost a lot of guys in the off season. Now I know why Leavitt didn't go to K-State. Go Hammer Rutgers!
  2. Hey, they have to give some type of incentive for people to live out there. They can have their 1.89 gas... they deserve it for putting up with tornadoes. I lived "out there" for 30 years. I've never seen a Tornado. They really aren't as common as the TV makes it out to be.
  3. He hasn't been our coach for 5 years...thank God! His nickname was booger because of that pic. Terry Allen went on to be an asst at Iowa State and the first game we played without him (manginos 1st game) ISU won. They gave Terry Allen the gameball (for beating the players he recruited). Since then we just call him "Gameball" and root against the now head coach at Missouri State University (formerly Southwest Missouri State).
  4. Mangino doesn't act in seperation. This is ararity for him to speak about ANY injuries. This article is missing a very important quote from mangino earlier in the week. "I expect Kerry to play". So relax. Mangino's not so scared of mighty South Florida, that he's throwing curve balls in the media. BTW. Barrman started about half of the games last year, and most of the games as a Sophmore. It's real easy to explain the descending playing time. He's very slow afoot. He's also afraid to throw the long ball, and then panics in important situations. Against Oklahoma last year he threw terrible looking interceptions deep in our own territory.

  6. Yes they can cover 4. We play in a conference with Texas Tech. But it'll be tough Saturday. The WR's have been a big surprise. I for one am more concerned with the OL. They have been underwhelming, to say the least.
  7. A more accurate Depth Chart. http://www.kansas.rivals.com/cdepthtext.asp
  8. We've pretty much heard all of them, accept the Man-Gina one, which I think is pretty funny myself. As long as you stay away from the Manginos weight and the Wizard of Oz stuff nobody on the prairie will be too upset. Nobody knows anything about Kansas so all we ever see or here is Dorthy and Toto, and "you're not in kansas any more" stuff. Good luck. Actually a good Fred Phelps (god hates fags dude) or "What's the Matter with Kansas?" (NY Times Best seller)) sighn would be pretty well received!
  9. It's a win win deal for Kansas if we win. It'll be a nice raod trip for us and would help our recruiting in Florida.
  10. Born last night, 9:30 Kansas time, Sean Patrick McDermott became the newest Bull at 8 lbs. 12 oz. He has a "Future Bulls" onsey waiting for him when he gets home. Born to my daughter (USF '02), I will do everything in my power to make him the third generation Bull in my family!! I have some pix, but can't figure out how to upload them here, so I will have to bring them to the game. Look forward to seeing you and everyone else up there. Definately will share a beer in Sean's honor!! Just remember. Since Sean Patrick was born in Kansas it'll be in-state tuition to be a Jayhawk! Congratulations, GRAMPS!
  11. Crowne Center is a nice area. Of course I'm biased as my father worked for Hallmark for 30+ years. They open up the outdoor ice skating rink in the fall. I don't know if it's open yet. There is more than one Jack Stacks, adn I couldn't tell you where any of them are. Sorry. I don't know where the cookoff is either. If it's in Lenexa, KS, then it's about 17 mins. The Stadium is less than that depending on which way you go. If you go down I-35 to K-10 that sounds a little long. I'd add another 20-30 minutes for game traffic. Unfortunately, I won't be at the game. I'll be watching on TV. It's my pleasure to help though.
  12. If you were referring to Vermont St BBQ, I like it. Another good place is Biggs BBQ. BBQ in lawrence is just another place to eat. There are so many great places other than it. That's all I'm sayin'. Somebody mentioned Tellers, which I think is quite good and very unique. The bar is the old bank counter...hence the name Tellers. I also like The Free state Brewery. It's the best Brewpub in Kansas and the food is better than any brewpub I've ever been to. The owner also has the #1 rated Bread Bakery in the Nation according to USA Today. They have excellent lunches and deserts as well. I could go on and on... Lawrence is a great town though. If you stay in KC, still take the time to walk around the campus and Downtown. You'll be glad you did.
  13. "If USF wins, it's not a marquee win. If Kansas wins, that's not a marquee win either. Neither of us are ranked, and neither of us have have played impressive, blow-a-good-team out football this season. Mighty snooty to consider yourselves any different in the sport in question." I agree completely. Somebody asked what a win over KU would do, that a win over Pitt, two wins over Louisville, and a win over TCU didn't do? The answer to that question is that it would give you a win over a flagship State school in the Big 12.
