Mike White committed to Willie Taggart on the day Taggart was formally introduced by USF, IIRC. Later that evening.

Ah, we are back to pretending that CWT recruited him.  CWT showed up and we had no QBs.  He asked who we were recruiting and it was White.  So he offered.  It was White's best offer so he took it.  This was not CWT genius.  It was desperation and taking advantage of legwork already done.

Seems like Team Meetings are announced and known/ leaked to the public when a coach plans on leaving his team. Unless he stupidly threw it in there during the pregame speech, I haven't heard of any Team Meetings being called at Coastal Carolina yet.

Players know long before there is a ream meeting.  Reminds me when my company had a series of layoffs.  Management was mad because the employees always knew when layoff day was coming.  They thought all the employees were stupid.  College players are not stupid.

I'm a huge GB supporter too on here, but ****.  The throws are accurate and the runs are good.

Again, one game and a series though.  I would say remember Mike White's first game and I thought he was Dan Marino.  I guess it's a different situation though.

I'm hoping he gets to play next week and our team decides to give a crap and win one for the gipper.

Mike White is in the NFL, QF is not.  That doesn't mean QF should not have ended up the QB.  But it does mean that Mike White was a lot better on a tire fire USF team than anyone ever gave him credit for.

I think that's the thing.  I know there are are a few saying "no way in hell" but it that because of the chances of it happening or really wanting it not to happen?  A lot of the cogs from that time period are long gone - Gerdes, Genshaft, Woolard, Selmon, etc.  Are the larger boosters on board with all the **** that went down or did time heal those wounds.

Forget for a second this program is his baby and just go to the coaching he did when he moved on.  Oregon and Colorado improved fast.  His recruiting and stamp on this area are still very positive and parents sent their kids to play with him.

I think this stuff is so blown up and there are far too many egos involved.  Can the program get any worse?  I mean this is literally the lowest of the low.  The admin will do what they want but I see this post getting pointed out 3 years from now again.  And yes, as Dave mentioned in an earlier post if it doesn't happen this go round we can officially put it to bed.

I will be on board if he can bring back Wally Burnham as his DC, the real key coach behind the Bulls of the Big East.

I have no idea how to feel about Johh Gruden rumor. IT is a total boom or bust pick. He knows football and has a super bowl ring to support it. He also is good with quarterbacks and used to have that espn college qb show kids loved.

Chris Simms led the Bucs to the first Gruden playoof appearnce in three years, then very nearly gave his life for the Bucs and the team.  And all Gruden did was complain that Simms required coaching, unlike Brad Johnson or Brian Griese.  Doesn't sound like a guy that likes to develop QBs. Sounds more like a guy that likes to call plays and not actually coach young players.

Coach Mo's unit was the highest performing on team, and Da Prato is a hell of a recruiter. Tricketts offense was starting to click, although I would've like to see it with more tempo.

Axing everyone will mean starting completely over with recruiting & flipping the program over on its head yet again.

New coach will almost assuredly bring in his own staff.  But I would not mind seeing a real defensive coach with fire that can recruit and let Trickett run with the offense.

No let's stay on this.  I went back yesterday and read all the emails I had from reporters, USF personnel and players that reached out, both current and former.  So no, not just what I wanted, but what people wanted me to know.  What's your source?  Feelings?

USF players and personnel.  But you are always right, as usual.  It's your board, you control the narrative.  So be it.

So let's see who the next head coach is and talk about that.

Yes, it was divided about 101/4

Those few dividers, most of whose names you should know, splintered off into their embrace with McMurphy.

    Right.

You were dealing with major life issues at the time and half a continent away.  But you know.

Or maybe you just heard from those you wanted to hear from.

    But let's move on, right?

IMO, because a few players were whiny, soft, participation trophy ******* and couldn't take actually having to compete and bust their asses to achieve something. Also, because the administration was trying to undermine him throughout the ordeal.

    In your opinion.  I see.

Couldn't be because he wanted them to lie to save his job or anything like that.

That would be a name for sure.  Can't believe they would hire someone on record with seriously racist remarks, though.

That Jim is a "jackass" isn't really debatable.  🙂

    But he's our jackass.  🙂

    Fair enough.

Was he a Bucs coach under John McKay?  He would have to be 95 yo by now.

Looked it up, was under Dungy.  He is therefore only 66.

    "Whispered by the players"....please.

I read that report with an open mind. It was one-sided. The cake was baked and the report was just the icing. The "whispers" were that the administration wanted him gone. They found their out. They took it. There were just as many "whispers" from players that supported CJL and thought the entire situation was overblown and used as a pretense to ousting him.

Yes, the locker room was terribly divided.  Why would that be?

  12. Just now, BullyPulpit said:

That is your perception and opinion. At the time all of this went down, I thoroughly reviewed the entire report concerning the incident and found numerous, glaring issues. It is my firm opinion that the "investigation" was a pretense to get Leavitt fired and to try and bolster the University's attempt to avoid paying him his buyout.

We are beating a dead horse at this point. I don't think Leavitt will ever come back (although I think he would move the needle if he were to be our next HC).

As did I.  The report was fine until the end when reporting showed what he was doing.  And that is just what was in the report.  What was being whispered by the players was worse.

At any rate, he is never coming back.
