I agree with you however I am further along in the grieving process and am no longer as bummed about the situation as you currently are, it will get better, keep your chin up.
I am no longer as bummed as I used to be. I just hate for other people to actually think USF is getting out of here.
-
Like that's going to happen. Have you not seen how USF has bumbled realignment the past 15 years at every turn. Have you seen even ONE credible news source indicating USF is a candidate for ANY conference.
I haven't.
Yet I see UConn, SMU, Memphis, UNLV, Colorado State, and Tulane mentioned by knowledgeable media all the time.
USF has fallen so far they are now behind a former woebegone Tulane as an expansion candidate. The same Tulane we laughed at for years and who couldn't win a game for decades. USF is and always will be a Sun Belt level program.
Get that through your head.

USF: Getting left behind for a 3rd time.
The end.

I dont think you remember the UF game. Bohannon rocked that game.
Bad snap lost us the go-ahead TD and missed the tie-up FG right after not thing he could control.Best USF game I have been to since BJD's first career start against FSU in the Doak.
I agree. People remember what they want to remember. Bohanon played a much tougher schedule that Brown did. And I like Brown a lot.
GB beats Florida if our snapper can snap a ball or was it the holder or whoever screwed up.

Yeah, I'm not saying we don't draw over 40K on occasion, but it's usually against some big name opponent that brings half the fans. They drew 41K vs. North Texas. Would we do that? Maybe, maybe not.
-
Some of you guys forgot. GB was an absolute wrecking ball running the ball. He had it rolling against Tulane (who won a NY6 bowl) and had USF primed for an upset, then went down.
After starting the year slow, he threw 6 TD's to 0 Int, and was running like his hair was on fire.
I'm good with either guy, but GB is not chump change. USF has two good options right now.
USF had the worst defense in the country last year. No QB was going to truly overcome that.

UTSA has found recent success in FB, hoops is small time, school is not impressive at all, overall a school with very little identity except as a commuter school with shat academics. They play in an empty cavernous stadium (I know we share some similarities but overall they are trash)
Their academics are bad and their basketball is atrocious, but their campus is really growing. Have you actually set foot on it or seen it. I live in San Antonio. As far as the cavernous stadium, that part is true, however, most UTSA games are very loud. They drew 41K for the CUSA championship game last year. When was the last time we drew 41K for anything. They have a really solid football fan base. They open the upper deck for big games. As long as they hang on to Jeff Traylor, they will be good.

I have have almost no excitement at all for Goulash. He is the second coming of Jeff Scott until he isn't.
They are nothing alike.
My excitement level is high. I was very down at the end of last year but Golesh has won me over.
He's brought in what, close to 50 new players or so? This is an entirely new team.

What did they lie about?. Article was pretty much spot on. Maybe the dig at the end of the article wasn't necessary, but otherwise, I saw nothing wrong with the article.

No. Just my opinion having watched USF for 10-15 years screw up everything conference related.
How many rejections do you need to see before you realize USF isn't getting it done.
-
What are all of Kelly's supposed connections getting us.
Nothing.
Conferences aren't even picking up USF's calls at this point.

I Hope y’all are right. I really do. I just see zero evidence that you are.

Memphis' enrollment is about 20K. Tulane's enrollment is about 15K. USF's enrollment is about 50K.
Also, Memphis and New Orleans are ranked 50 and 51, respectively, in media market. Tampa is 13.
Yes, Memphis and Tulane have stadiums, but I've heard rumors we're building one very soon.
Memphis is not a very good academic school. However, Tulane is - AAU, like USF.
While Memphis and Tulane have had more recent success on the field, it's naive to think that'll last forever, or that USF will remain down forever. Realignment decisions aren't made based upon a 1-2 year sample size. Or at least, they shouldn't be. I don't follow BB very closely so I don't know how we compare (probably poorly, especially compared to Memphis which has had good or decent BB for a long time).
Respectfully, if the Big 12 chooses both Memphis and Tulane over USF, IMHO it'd be on balance a very bad decision.
Remember that rumors fly like crazy in the context of conference realignment. Just because one sees an article touting one or more schools, doesn't mean they're seriously under consideration, or even if they are, that they're the only ones under consideration.
Just my two cents.
What you’ve said is mainly true. Yet not one person ever has leaked USF to the Big 12. Yet about 8-10 other schools have been linked
What does that tell you.

Big 12 has site visit with Memphis. This after visiting UConn.
Crickets out of USF.
USF being mentioned by absolutely no one for any conference.

I would have to say that $40-$50 million per year is a hell of a lot better than $7 million a year, especially when you have a stadium to pay off .
I see this all the time, comparing apples to oranges. 7M is our TELEVISION payment. 43M is the Big 12's TOTAL payment (TV, NCAA tournament credits, Bowl revenue, other revenue, etc). Their TV revenue is around 30M, I believe.
In theory, out TOTAL payment should be higher than 7M per year.

I predict we will start to see significantly more rumors and tweets of USF changing conferences now. Probably soon.

When you're pushing your third school in two years, you need to take the hint on your football acumen. Take the ******* Duke degree and call it a good day.
In the portal era, players can be cut. Deion cut over 20 players within the past week. Maybe they keep their scholarship as a regular student, but they don't have to keep you on the roster.
It's not just players that have leverage in the portal era. Coaches move on too.

They're called starters .......... and they're "favorites" for a reason. Coach thinks they give him the best chance to continue his coaching career.
Correct, but coaches make their favorites starters. That's the point. They get latched on to certain guys who they think are their best players and they generally ride those guys. They may be wrong, but they love their favorites.
-
Coaches do have favorites. They may not admit that, but they do.

CAG said he would be very active in portal. The guys that recently left so far can easily be replaced.

I feel he is better than the Coastal QB, but you can tell CAG has his favorites.
Cause he threw one good pass vs. backups in a spring game?
If CAG feels the coastal guy is better then so be it. Either Archie or Gunnar isn't going to be higher than #3 anyways and maybe #4 once the incoming freshman gets here. We have plenty of QB's not worried...yet.
mr ad and president law call memphis and than the pac 4
in USF South Florida Bulls Athletics

Smazza is 100 percent correct. MK and the USF prez should be burning up phone lines and getting on planes trying to get USF into the Pac4.
Remember when the Big East was down to 3 members, Cincinnati, USF, and UConn and only had one year of a BCS auto bid left. The Big East was still able to lure plenty of CUSA teams in.
Same deal. The Pac 4 still has autonomous status, auto bowl bids, etc. USF can make the PAC a temporary home until ACC calls, if they call. The time is now. If USF doesn't accept then you can bet everything that SMU, Tulane, and Memphis will accept. Do you want to be left in AAC with Charlotte, Sam Houston State, Louisiana Tech, and whoever else the AAC brings in? Because that's what would happen.
