  1. This was the best performance by the team this year so far - very encouraging.
  2. Never said i wanted I wanted CJL fired...sure don't want Rod Smith as head coach at any level! I just felt CJL's act was wearing thin at the beining of the year... I like some of the things I have seen the last 3 games, but we have now been exposed in areas we never were before... Let me be the first to say that I rushed to judgment!
  3. I can't help but think what last year's team could have been with grothe at QB (granted the red-shirt year I am sure helped him - I mean if had already had the redshirt year uder his belt). Anyway the it gt me to think about the short-history of the progarm and the quality of our QB's> Not sure if there is too much debate to be had, but am curious to see what other people think. Here are mine (minimum 1 start): 1. Marquel Blackwell - The standard by which everyone is measured 2. Chad Barnhardt - Many fail to realize how fortunate we were to have him to start the program with 3. Matt Grothe - let the debate begin, but I have already seen more that in him than those listed below 4. Pat Julmiste - was carried by some very good teams; fortunate to have Anfre Hall 5. Ronnie Banks - "The Statue" 6. Courtney Denson - aweful 7. Glenn Gauntt - aweful at the 1-AA level
  4. Enjoy your ranking while it lasts...enjoy your weak-ass 8-4 record and your trip to Charlotte!
  5. We are looking at 6-6 this season, maybe 7-5 if we pull a road upset. Not bad with a frosh qb and NO run offense or run defense.
  6. They guy can play but he isn't clutch...
  7. I am not impressed...qb is aweful and theri db's couldn't hang with our wr's... West Virginia - L Louisville - L Pittsburg - L Through in a couple more L's where they WILL get exposed and they will do well to finish at 8-4.
  8. Better run defense would have created more possesions for the offense...nuff said.
  9. Amp I love ya, but you HAVE to make that catch!
  10. a game we should have won! For all that Grothe did good tonight he made some critical mistakes. I saw him make some freshman mistakes but some **** fine throws and runs! Our future looks good with Grothe...what this season could have been with a running game.
  11. UCF drew a crowd of 46,000, the third-highest in school history, with some help from their opponents. A big group of South Florida fans made the 85-mile trip from Tampa, at times out-shouting the home crowd.
  12. six times, we need to cash in. Amazing with all of the mistakes that we are still in this thing.
  13. How can we continue to be so mentally weak???
  14. Overall as a group its tough to say since we have had some key losses and it may be to early to difinitively judge their replacements. Based on the first 2.5 games I don't think anyone would argue that we have a better coaching staff. The defense looks like they miss the loss of Kravitz, and the one coach I would have loved to have seen go is still calling the plays! Hopefully Grothe will continue to develop despite his OC.
  15. Its not good when your QB is by far your leading rusher AND you are not an option team... Let's get this kid some help!
  16. Elite programs are not built overnight, although both schools should be proud of the progress they have made. The closer you get to the top the more difficult it is to get to the top.
  17. The offensive line has to create opportunities for the running backs. The bottom line is our two "best" backs are out... CJL needs to make adjustments and get Grothe under center a few plays, bring in a tight end or two to help create those opportunties. I hate the fact that our coaching staff is married to one way of thinking and is usually too late to make the adjustments needed to be effective, not great, just effective.
  18. I wouldn't consider beating McNeese State, FIU, and UCF as making us "world-beaters". As a BCS school you should recruit enough depth to compesate for that loss to beat lesser teams. That would be a good excuse once we got into the conference schedule.
  19. USF = 1.5 yards per carry (with the help of a few sacks) UCF = 4.3 yards per carry Just under half of ours have come on one play.
  20. cannot stop the run and cannot run the football...anyone who knows anything about football knows you aren't going to win like that...
  21. Enjoy the win then, because there won't be many more this season if we don't coach these players up.
