  1. Already have their starting pitcher up over 50 pitches and there's no outs in the 3rd. He's going to get tired soon. We need to keep working him.
  2. 1-0, top 1st Anyone else's video feed very pixelated?
  3. Rutgers wins 9-1. Good-bye Louisville. Big game tonight. Can put ourselves in a really good position now. First pitch announced for 8:45pm
  4. What are the odds they don't make the field by going 0-2 in the tourney? They'll definitely make the field, no question. Some sites even project them to host a regional. In my opinion I think this should knock them out of hosting.
  5. TV guys just said UL didn't pitch their ace for the tournament. Looks like they are coasting into the NCAA tournament. Maybe it's just me, but if I'm on the committee, I would punish a team for doing something like this; assuming they are in the field and just going thru the motions in the conference tournament which directly impacts the NCAA field. I get the strategy part, but it just seems like a disservice to the conference.
  6. Welcome to Florida kid! haha Rutgers up 7-0 now, still bottom 5. Runners on 1st & 2nd with 2 out. Pitching change for the Cards. Tauris Carpe Diem
  7. Is there a mercy rule? Yes. 10 runs thru 7 innings. Its the bottom of the 5th right now, still 6-0.
  8. Rutgers has jumped out to a 6-0 lead thru 3 innings.
  9. Notre Dame defeats Pittsburgh 5-3. Seton Hall vs Pittsburgh tomorrow at 3:00pm Notre Dame awaits the winner in the semifinal on Saturday.
  10. Just some fun facts. Yesterday was the first time the #1 and #2 seed have both lost their opening game. The #2 seed has always made it to Friday, and only once has the #1 seed gone 0-2 (St Johns 2008). Also, Georgetown has never made the Big East tournament in its current forms (since 2006). USF has never played Seton Hall in the Big East tournament (nor Villanova & Georgetown, but they are typically not in it).
  11. 7-2 Seton Hall over St Johns. St Johns is eliminated. Seton Hall awaits the loser of Pitt-Notre Dame, which should be starting in the next 10 minutes or so (yep, they're already an hour behind schedule)
  12. They treat it as if its a playoff series. Like in the MLB how in a best of 5 series it's a 3-2 split. The biggest problem with the current format is when a 1-loss team beats an unbeaten team in the championship. That to me is the biggest BS; it should be double elimination the whole way. The softball tourney works that way, why doesn't the baseball tourney? I think that's because it is single elimination. When you look at the regional and WCWS, when it's double-elimination, the teams will alternate. Its the same reason why for Softball Super Regionals last year, we were the road team twice because we lost a coin flip. Say what? They're both double elimination for the BET. Something doesn't add up here... No. The Big East softball tournament is a single elimination format (something I strongly disagree with, but I'll take it this year).
  13. Add in their selection for the "new traditions" from a few months ago and it shows you how out of touch athletics and SG really are. (Government out of touch, where have I heard that before?)

  17. http://www.usforacle.com/not-really-our-shirt-1.2828711#.UZ5Bp7VwqFl Looks like Athletics and SG really screwed the pooch on this one. How many times have they said to "Wear Green"? And then they go make a white shirt? Not to mention a bland, cheap design. #BestAthleticsDepartmentintheBigEast
  18. I could be wrong. But it looks as if we will be the road team this evening. http://www.bigeast.org/portals/5/fls/19400/pdfs/Policy_Manual/baseball.pdf http://www.cwsomaha.com/index.php?option=com_easyfaq&task=view&id=17&Itemid=161 Seeing as how UConn was the visitor yesterday and we were the home team, I guess we flip for today.
  19. We went 0-4 against UL and SH in the regular season. We went 13-2 against the rest of the field (14-2 if you count last night;s game).
  20. Late night games making me hit the snooze alarm a few times this morning. I regret nothing. Figured we might need a new thread for today's games since the other one went 10 pages. Anyhow, here's today's lineup, all of which are available on ESPiN 3 and Big East Online. #6 St Johns vs #2 Seton Hall - 10:00am [Elimination Game] #7 Notre Dame vs #3 Pittsburgh - 1:00pm #5 Rutgers vs #1 Louisville - 5:00pm [Elimination Game] #8 Connecticut vs #4 USF - 8:00pm St Johns took 2-of-3 from Seton Hall just this past weekend, so its not out of the realm of possibilities. Rutgers also took 2-of-3 from Louisville (at UL) back at the end of March. Pitt swept ND this season, as did the Bulls to the Huskies. Could make things interesting today if the season series are any indicator.
  21. USF vs UConn - 8pm (ish) tomorrow I'm guessing Gonzalez gets the start tomorrow. Not sure how we proceed after that. If we win do we go with Lovechio on Saturday, and Herget in the in necessary or Championship game? If we lose tomorrow, who do we go to on Friday and for the elimination games on Saturday?
