No way we make the playoff.

Hoping we finish regular season higher than 15.

Then if we win our bowl game potentially finishing the entire season in the Top 10 would be great.

No way we don't finish in the Top 10 if we win our bowl game undefeated. At worst that would mean we just beat another Top 10 team in a NYD Bowl Game even if we get no credit for the rest of our schedule.

I know the CFP playoff is a long shot, but not being in the Top 10 would be equally as unlikely.

  2. Calling it now. IF we go undefeated we will be in the CFP. Yes it will take us winning by big margins, yes it will take P5 champs with 2 losses or even 3, but I think it will line up.

The difference between us and WMU is that WMU started the season unranked not even receiving votes. In the initial CFP Rankings (week 10) WMU came in at #23 while 8-0. By winning their remaining 5 games they climbed 8 spots.

At week 10, we should be 9-0 and I would estimate top 10 ranking since we start the season ~#20. Winning our last 4 against a potentially ranked Houston, and whoever the AAC West Champ is could propel us to top 5 and a CFP berth.

  3. Sell out to win AAC CG next year and get butts in seats. Kiffin would be your best option for both of those in the short term. Make no mistake he would definitely be a 1-2 year rental, but I would take it for our first ever championship. We will not get anyone better who would make us more likely to win in their 1st year here.

Much different hire than in previous years as this would not be a rebuilding. Whoever we hire would be expected to win immediately.

Hate the guy as an individual, but he knows offense and how to recruit, so I can put my personal feelings aside for 1 season.

  4. Staying at the Tutwiler Hampton Inn downtown. I would guess team hotels are most likely the Westin and Sheraton in Uptown as that is where the pep rally the day before the game is. I have stayed at both of those hotels and they are both what you would expect. There is a nice strip of restaurants in uptown just 1 Block from those hotels.

So I'm not gonna lie, that early bye week scares me. Hopefully our depth doesn't diminish and we can do a lot of rotating towards the end of the season.

I think you are missing a key point that we actually get 3 bye weeks next year because of moving our 1st game up. There will be one more bye week sometime in the middle of the conference schedule that is currently undetermined.

Yeah shouldn't be far, Capitol Pub and Henderson Tap House are two good bars that are next to each other.  My group is meeting up around 330-4 at Capitol Pub to get some pre-game drinks.  If you are looking for pre-game food, down that street is a place called Velvet Taco, it's sooo good.  Majority of our group will be wearing Bulls gear so we'll be hard to miss.  Stadium serves beer as well.

Who in your group will not be wearing Bulls gear?!

  7. Also on the fan boy train for this season. And disagree that we will disappoint, but what is wrong with saying Nichols is an NFL talent? I love Marlon Mack, but agree with the writer than Nichols is probably the better NFL player (best USF CB since Mike Jenkins) and don't see how that means he doesn't know about our team. If anything the fact that he named a player other than Marlon Mack shows that he follows us a little more closely than you think.

  8. I don't think it was about poking the Gators, I think it was if he acts like he is committed to the Gators all that time, he isn't going to have coaches and family members constantly recruiting him still to go play for the Gators and can then just make his official flip at the last second without giving anyone any time to try to harass him and flip him back.

Unless we get Calloway back, our defensive line is screwed going forward unless Taggart plans on going with an undersized line of 4 DE. Also, if Keno Dillon goes down who do we go to at TE? With that said, we have a crap ton of defensive backs and WRs.

We have Adkinson, Wilcox, and Nataro who I believe were all 3 star recruits behind Dillon. Yes they haven't played and are unknown, but no more so than a true freshman would be.

I really wanted a DT as well, but don't press the panic button yet. Hector and Senat will both be only JR's. Bronson a SO. Gonzalez was a highly rated recruit and would have seen playing time last year as a True Freshman if not for injury. Getting Calloway back this year is probably from what I have heard but not guaranteed.

Nah, it's the off season and I'll do what I want since there's not much more going on with our football team. Recruiting is exciting and helps the off season go by a little faster, so I'll over react and keep on posting different things that I hear about recruits on this board because it's entertaining for me.

Keep on doing you. I also find recruiting very exciting and agree that its great for the offseason. Nowhere did I say you shouldn't post different things you find or hear. I just like to take them with a grain of salt and not count my chickens until they hatch.

Nobody seriously said good riddance. I was probably the closest, and I still wish we had a better option than him (mainly due to the character questions), but it seems that we don't given the recent defections. So I hope he pans out. Still think it's best to wait until signing day to gloat too much, given that just yesterday he had Temple plastered all over his profile.

You certainly weren't the only one, and I understand the jest. My main point is there is just way too much overreaction to a guy's twitter account or visits. They are kids they will do stupid stuff like saying one thing and doing another. And even stupider things that lead to criminal charges.

I absolutely agree, lets wait until signing day and hope every recruit signs with USF. You never know what can happen, wouldn't be the most shocking thing if Saloman put up all the USF stuff again just to make his switch to Temple even more dramatic on signing day, but I hope not. Hell I'm still hoping against hope that Shavar Manuel switches to us last second out of no where.

  12. While I agree that I would love to have this WR commit along with Salomon, because you can never have too much talent. I think that WR is one of our deepest positions where we could really see some names shine next year if we can get enough balls to go around and I don't expect Freshmen to get much playing time. Adams (our elder statesman), MVS, Bronson, McCants, Reed, Barr, Legree, and don't forget about Clerveaux who was supposedly wowing coaches in camp before losing his 2015 season to injury.
