  1. 1. Are you going "home" for homecoming?   Yes haven't missed a home game for many years.

    2. All-time favorite USF athletic player (any sport)   Mike Jenkins, from my hometown, was the defensive star when I attended, 1st round pick, now on my bucs too (too bad he got hurt.)

    3. Favorite (or most hated, LOL) dormroom / apartment hotplate / microwaved food?  Pizza rolls. Burn the crap out of my mouth every time though.

    4. Pick one: Skydiving, caving, rock climbing, couch surfing. Why?  Skydiving its easy letting gravity do all the work.

    5. What rhymes with gay?  Mark May (it actually rhymes), UCF and ECU.

  2. Very smart by Bres imo. You want to see what players can just go out and make plays and beat the guy lined up across from them. Make their own reads, get off blocks, make tackles, practice shifting the defense as the offense shifts, etc. And if the offense capitalizes on the first two turnovers the defense got, then you can keep playing that way all game. When the offense violation the bed, thats when we had to adjust the defense and actually gameplan for a quarter or two. And we shut them down when we did that. I wouldn't say it was playing with fire, because as soon as we needed them too we turned up the heat and could have kept it on like that all game if it was closer. The reason Bres was so pissed about the scores(especially the late ones) is because even without mismatches giving us an advantage he still wants our guys to make the stops.

Basically Bres took himself out of the game and wanted to see what his players can do. Instead of us taking away what WCU can do best(the wr screen), we lined up and said okay lets see if we can beat them at their best with one hand tied behind out back. I promise you he still did his homework on WCU and we knew their play calls, etc. Its called a warm up, he let his guys get punched in the mouth a little bit and see how they respond. It wasn't pretty but it wasn't as bad as you all think it was either. The negatives I still saw were our DB's don't know how to get off a cut block to save their life and we were a little slow reading and reacting. There is no way to break up those screens with the scheme we were playing, but more of them should have been for little to no yardage.

But now this next game we can go out and exert our defense on Maryland and they won't know what is coming either. Do I expect us to do a complete 180 and not give up a single point to a much better school? No. But I think you will be much happier with the defensive scheme and see how we are actually doing different things to disrupt their offense.

  3. During the game, I was also reacting similarly and quite frankly freaking out about why we weren't making adjustments. But now after the game, it seems pretty easy to see that we were running a vanilla game plan. Certainly a big part of getting new players comfortable in a new scheme is running just a base defense. So we were in a simple call which just put players in position to make their reads and not give up the big play.

In the 3rd quarter when we actually needed to, we changed it up a little bit and shut them down. When the game was out of reach we went back to the base to continue getting our guys reps into the different looks and reads they will get from the standard defense that they are still learning.

  4. I had the same issue of not receiving my tickets because of missing Bulls Club payment. I get that is technically my fault, but a reminder or some sort of contact would have been great at some point instead of just sitting on my tickets. Usually my ticket rep has just taken my donation with my ticket payment, and as soon as I knew about it, I made my payment. Especially considering I get a monthly email from them some sort of communication would have been great.

But now that I did get my tickets, they forgot to put Club Access on them, so I have to bring my folder of tickets to RJ tomorrow so they can put a sticker on each of them.

I appreciate them taking a bad situation and trying to make the best out of it and make it right. So I don't want to voice my frustrations at the poor reps on the phone who are doing their best, but who is in charge of the Bulls Club now that Eric is gone? Maybe these are issues because Eric knew he was leaving, but I feel like someone should take some responsibility.

  5. I don't know what some of you guys are talking about. This video was great, the real emotion coursing out of it gave me chills. So much more inspiring than just a rah rah we are the best chant and highlight reel. You have to love Thor in particular, that is a guy who has bought into the program. There will plenty other videos that will be "exciting" this is real and heartfelt and shows why a recruit would want to come here.

Obviously it means nothing if the results don't come on the field, but it gives me a reason to believe they will. And after seeing today's class, the recruits must be believing too.

  6. By no means did we deserve to win this game, we got out coached all day and our defense couldn't stop anyone. BUT...that officiating was awful. Holding call on Reiter, tripping call on Murray, holding call on #52(phantom player), personal foul on Hawkins, personal foul on Joyce, all awful calls. How that the td was a ruled a catch at the end is beyond belief. But I guess it really doesn't matter since I am sure holtz would have found a way to lose anyways.

  7. Glad to see (most) fans stick up for BJ. I thought he played well and is obviously giving effort. I also question the effort of some of the other players but mainly the coaching. We have no killer instinct. Our whole defense looks lost and confused. Even when they are in the right position for a stop they just wait for the play to come to them instead of attacking the football.
