  1. HOT, just like the rest of the athletic program, lacks in tradition. 3 (or 4) directors in 16 years....Kinda makes it hard to establish much of anything. The first director, Sid Haton came from Oregon and recognized what a college marching band should be. The 2nd director, Michael Robinson and his #1 guy Steve Visnage came with more of a drum corps/competitive marching mentality. Hopefully, Dr. McCutcheon has a little better of an idea of what a college marching band should be...

He doesn't... and lack of tradition is no excuse for lack of focus, pride and just doing it the right way. All of these kids have been in marching band before... most of them in good HS programs or they wouldn't have been able to get into the USF school of music... They know what's required.

You dont have to be in the SoM to be in the marching band.

Hell, you dont have to be a student at USF. You can enroll as a "Non-Degree Seeking Student" at USF and take the class.

You don't even have to enroll, you just don't get paid. Do they still offer a stipend?

Heck, there wasn't even an audition.

    Yes... they get a stipend.

The money really isnt worth the time they put in....Two-Three 3 hour practices during the week, plus giving up a half-dozen Saturdays during the semester.

Nobody is doing it for the money.

  4. Basically this game is about bringing the pain. Remember we are South freaking Florida and knock some hats off

    Yep.

    South Freaking Florida.

The school that has never done anything other than get ranked #2 and promptly fall flat on their faces. No national titles. No conference titles. A couple of wins in mediocre bowl games.

Some of you need should learn to recognize the difference between what we think the program/want the program to be and what it is.

Reality is that USF did something no other program has ever done - been successful within 10 years. It might take another 10, or 20 years to get to the level where we all want and think they should be at. The national powerhouses in the country - Florida, Florida State, Michigan, Ohio State, USC, Miami, Texas - took time to devolop as programs.

Right now USF is not a major national powerhouse. Time to be realistic and appreciate USF for what it is, not what we want it to be.

That might just be the most asinine post I've ever read on this forum and I've read/wrote some doozies. If you want to appreciate home losses, losing to FCS schools, constantly being at the bottom of the conference.......have at it. That's a $hit sandwich I won't bite into but you obviously think is tasty enough to continue to consume. You want to appreciate less than mediocrity, good on you, but don't ask me to join your "I'm happy to be a loser" club. Reality is what you make of it not what people like you say that it is and our Bulls football team does not have to be this friggin poor on the field. That's JMHO but hey I'm glad theres someone out there who can appreciate where we currently are at.

I definately dont like it. But, ******** and moaning like a bunch of spoiled little girls about everyfuckingthing that happens gets you what? Hurt feelings? A stiff **** cause you cried the loudest on a message board?

Reality is a mother ******, and it sucks a lot of the time and reality is USF has been fortunate to be so successfull in the "early years" of the program and there will be bad times, just like now.

I would be the guy beating his chest scraming USF WILL EAT YOUR CHILDREN is USF has done a **** thing, but they haven't. Until then, we, as a fanbase need to drop the enitilement issues that we, as a fanbase have suffered from for far too long.

And................followed up by an equally asinine post. Dude, you should have stopped at the first one. Now I just envision you in your boxers, with bed head, punching your keyboard like its your little brother after he got into your private drawer.

How often do you envision dudes in their underwear?

What exactly does your asinine post have to do with my reply to an offensive game plan to win THIS game?

    Oh yeah, your a donkey

Aww....You call people names. How cute!

It was in reply to your asinine (apparently the word of the week) comment about "South freaking Florida." Just trying to shed some realism on what South Florida is, not what you want it to be.

  8. @fauxtoddfitch is pretty funny too....

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

Great progress out of Daniels this week in practice, he did hit the broad side of a barn, a big step forward #USF #onestepatatime

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

We are going full green uniforms this Saturday so no one sees us sneaking out at half time #USF #camo

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

Coach Cosh locked himself in his office again, took 3 bottles of rum, a curling iron, and a light bright, must be game planning #USF

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

I should probably sell my tickets to this #USF game, make a quick buck...oh wait, gotta coach....crap

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

Cosh is working on defensive schemes using finger paints he stole from Pizzo Elementary School #USF

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

Just think, we are now less successful than ECU, have a great day :)

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

You all complain about my screen and bubble calls, so we did 12 straight runs, what more do you guys want? #USF

    Faux Todd Fitchâ€@FauxToddFitch

I'm really pleased with the effort from our guys, takes talent to lay an egg like that #USF

  9. Just my opinion, but the only hope we have is to bring quick passes and BJ calling his own number as much as possible... I don't see our offensive line winning the battle the majority of the time, so deep passes is not going to be an option very often (most likely when BJ is running for his life) . I honestly think our best hope is to adopt as much of the pistol offense we can muster for this one. FSU's Defense is going to Blitz the hell out of BJ, so hopefully quick and short plays will work...

If you were our Offensive Cord. What would you do?

The only problem with that, is that we'd be relying on BJ Daniels.

    Oof.

  10. USF needs to be no worse than 7-5 at the end of the season. It can still happen, but there should be blood if it doesn't. Unfortunately It's hard to see only 3 losses down the stretch especially considering we're staring down the barrel of one in 6 days.

Dude, we are not looking down the barrel, we have the pin pulled and is resting firmly against our ballzack

I hope we win on Saturday just for the mindfuck that will ensue on the boards here. I wouldn't even know how to react

    :roflmao: :roflmao:

May be worse than a lose..... At least we saw that coming..... Lose to Ball State and beat FSU.... this place will melt the server down.... :roflmao: :roflmao:

That is USF Football. Win when you should'nt. Lose when you should win.

  11. Listen, I want Holtz out of town as much as the rest of you, but he isn't going anywhere right now. I think Doug Woolard needs to go as well, as I alluded to in my post last week about Derrick Brooks being our next Athletic Director.

However, none of that is going to happen anytime soon. In the meantime, do you think this season can be salvaged? What in your mind would it take to consider this season a marginal success? A win over FSU? 4 or more Big East conference wins?

In my opinion, we can save face with a strong showing against FSU. Lose by 10 points or less and hopefully make it out of the game with minimal injuries. From there, we need to run off a couple of wins in conference. Overall, I would consider a 7-5 campaign a success at this point. If anything, I hope that our senior leaders will step up and help get us to a bowl game.

He's on the Board of Trustees at Florida State. Ain't gonna happen.

And yeah, they tear thru the Big East (the games that count) and make a bowl with a winning record....I'd call that salvaged.
