We can lose this and still be on track for a bowl IF and only if we take care of business against the presumably "weaker" teams on the schedule.

FAMU, Rice, Charlotte, Temple = 4 wins

On the fence teams: UConn (turning it around last year), Navy, FAU = if we can get 2 out of these 3, we are bowling

I would say WKU, UAB are stretch games and if we can win one of these it's almost a lock to bowl.

Memphis Bama and UTSA will be the big tests.

Uab has like 7 returning starters kinda like us…..i think our coaching hire is much much better, this is a win in my book

    Why ?

1 - SMU was a power school before the death penalty.

2 - They have DEEEEEEEP pocket donors.  USF does not.

3 - They are a top academic institution... they aren't AAU because they don't do enough research - but they are in the top 75 of schools.

SMU fits the ACC profile as well as (if not better than) USF does.

I wasnt knocking SMU, i was saying our conference just got worse again

Face it. USF doesn’t add value to the media rights for the P5(4?) conferences.

We just need to dominate our G5 conference. Keep the students engaged with the OCS to grow the fan base. Maybe we’ll get the G5 playoff slot every few years.

Dont worry, they will eliminate the G5 autobid soon, already talking about it, making it just the top 8 or 12 teams like bcs,  and rankings have never been good to lowly g5 teams

ND already stated that they will remain independent. Mher is reporting that SEC is talking with ESPN with regards to adding a 9th conference game while adding two more schools to help inventory. My guess is that SEC grabs FSU & Clemson. ACC will probably agree to a settlement with those schools and then add UConn & USF.

No they are going to add stanford and cal because espn wants night games and espn gets what they want(we arent and havent been part of what they want since botched BE negotiations)
