It will always be too soon.

If we start passing into the middle of the field the knights will be in trouble. Because their DC will have keeled over from a heart attack.

Some people said this about Louisville back in 2005.
eff all that. Root for the Bulls. Everything else is secondary on Friday.

CCS may move on from Gilbert. But I think there’s no chance he gives King, or any other first time coordinator, the job if he thinks his job may be on the line.

Defense allowed 13 points. Offense gave up 7. Special Teams gave up 7. Temple had gotten the offense going the 2 weeks prior so overall good defensive effort.

What? I’m partial to guys who take over a record breaking offense and say “I didn’t watch any of the tape from last year.”

up the middle, up the middle, up the middle punt and repeat. Our oc is a joke and a can't understand why an employer would pay him for that crap. definition of insanity- doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
That’s not true. We now have 2 variations.
Up the middle, up the middle, deep pass down the sideline, punt.
Pass to the far hash, Pass to the other far hash, up the middle, up the middle. Turnover on downs.

Is my running back sophomore year Marlin Mack?
No, your RB is the good but not great Tice.

Bad coaches find ways to keep the ball away from the best players
Imagine you have 3rd and 3 at the opponent 20 with 2minutes left. At home. Do you run up the middle with the RB or put the ball in the hands of QF on the edge? I know what the OC did.

At this point, I still would like to see Brett Kean out there. BB is athletic, great arm and is tall….but hasn’t wowed me this year. Kean looked great on the field. Even the passes where he didn’t connect, the ball still touched the receivers for the most part. Either way, I just hope we can win 2 more games this year
You love your wife like you love BK? Admirable.

Wonder what the biggest swing between 2 teams is from one year to the next. We won by 36 last year.
only chance we’ll have is to keep Armstead under some semblance of control. Probably unlikely given the run defense to date.
-
So we’ll keep playing a converted DL (Reaves), converted safety (McGee), and freshman (Boyles) and hope for the best.

2010 game at Cincinnati. 2 game losing streak with a first year coach and a bad feeling that it would get worse. We won 38-30.
Of course we fired that guy 2 years later because it got much worse.

Good thing we're South Florida. Maybe we can marry the two.
Maybe. If we were South Alabama then definitely.

Pretty sure Houston offense is from same family as ours. Maybe distant cousins.

When you realize that Sterling’s perfect offense is one designed to pick up 3.4 yards per play and results in any points this makes sense. Drive 70 yards and kick a field goal but run 20 plays and pick up 6 first downs? That’s a win for him.

Found the above on the below website. This link shows that of the 160 or so teams that have ever been ranked we have been ranked the 75th most times.

Ewing theory possibly at play? Or maybe for us it’s the Justin Roper theory? Or the Zach Collaros theory?

I know you are kidding, but visitors to the board may not realize it. One thing about CCS is that he is 100% class and would never tolerate such behavior.
I’m pretty sure we average a chop block a week. We had one Saturday. EIther Atterbury or Cecil.

We are either talented and young but yet to put a complete game together but still talented enough to bust loose, keep composure and win it in the end.? Or, We are talented but just not there yet to run with the big dogs so the lessor teams are giving us a game? Or, We just don't focus on all things "game" from the beginning so we get slapped around for a while until our collective brains drop into gear. (it does look that way at times)
Across the board, I think we should be way more dominant this year on both sides. I get all the contributing factors like youth, inexperience, etc. but, USF should be at the stage now with WT and CS recruiting that we are now a reload team.
If..If...the talent we have shows up for 4 quarters at Houston, I think we can finally show our true identity and get the W. Their good but, their beatable.
We’re starting 3 freshmen on the OL. We’re not recruiting 5 star linemen. We’re not reloading there. We’re building on the fly.

I am going to try like crazy to stay away from this board on Saturday. If we lose it will be filled with I told you we were terrible and we have been calling this loss for weeks and we were finally proven right. If we win it will be all how we win ugly and are the worst 8-0 team in history.
If we win it will be in a shoot out in which case the defense still sucks. Or in a low scoring affair in which case the offense still sucks. But if we los ethen everybody sucks.

Thanks. I saw only the 4th quarter last week due to some other commitments.
Among many glaring things is that on multiple series the first down play had the Temple DBs playing10 yards off the slot receivers. That’s assuming they were covering them at all because a couple plays it just looked like we had 2 WRs on a side with just one DB. And we never once passed it to them. The coverages would be different on second and third down. Which you would expect.
