I don't think Plancher is that big. Listed at 5'9" and 190.
-
I imagine after a certain size level that technique and leverage are way more important than raw strength.

jesus christ-- why must we all wallow in the mediocrity of 2-3 stars? we are big time and we have big time talent within a bike ride from campus.. and yet everyone on here wants to bring in recruiting scraps. this mentality is absolutely sickening if you ask me.. you want 2-3 stars? then that means you still want to be going to carshop bowl games for at least another 4 years.. leavitt needs to stop messing around with these 2-3 stars and start getting players that can get us to BCS games already
Right. The staff should have spent untold hours recruiting Tim Tebow and CJ Spiller and not bothered with anyone below that caliber. Then when Tebow and Spiller went somewhere else, we could have gotten 1 or 2 star guys instead of the 2 and 3, and the occasional 4 who would love to come here right now. We have to get better every year in recruiting.

Rockytop, They had a nice win yes, but nothing to say it was all about a new coach. They had a great game with 3 srs and 2 jrs starting in front of 24,000 fans. HELLYeah I'm glad they beat UF. But you need to pick a side. It is either USF or UT?
As much as I would like to start giving people ultimatums on only cheering for USF, it's not a good idea. At this point in our program's history we need all the fans we can get. Casual ones included, who may have allegiances "up north" but who root for the local school, the school their kids go to, or the school where they are getting a master's degree, etc.

This kid was a no-star QB on rivals. We got a verbal and he got 2 stars. He then verbaled to Missouri. Now he's a 3-star qb and ranked in the top 30 of dual threat quarterbacks in the country. This Dexter McCluster and Kevin McCaskill are really showing me that our staff can identify talent. It's also showing me (see McCluster to Ole Miss and Grooms to Missouri) that we need to learn how to keep them here.

This comment in this article only means that PJ has been removed from QB... and when #1 is gone #2 goes to # 1
thats it. Grothe will be your starter next year Hill will take it for awile in spring but thats it. I want someone to tell me what they saw good in Hill in any of the times he played...I keep hearing athletic this and that well HE CANT READ A DEFENCE period thats it end of story!! he played in a HS that did not require him to read anything he was a man among boys in a very low level class where his athletic ability made him shine! You can have the best arm and run like a deer but if you have no idea what the defence is doing it dont mean ****! In the WVU game he threw the pick into cover 2 on a delta route to the roll over when the safty was roll strong!! thats elementry! cmon someone has to know football enough to see!
Young Qbs make mistakes. Question is will he make the same mistake again and again? We saw PJ throw that pick in the red zone against NCState. He's made that mistake before. You may be right that Grothe will start but I would not give up on Hill at QB yet.

Is he going to take Rod Smith?
-
No new OC would be my guess. Good news anyways.

Rezz, it's SK-One, just decided to use my name. Two Sanjays in Fort Myers? Odd.
-
This month's maxim has a layout with a former USF volleyball player. She's dating some tennis guy. She seems nice. ;D
-
How about the fact that FGCU (down here in Ft Myers) is going Division 1, porbably joining the Atlantic Sun? They probably have some feasability research done. Article in the paper mentioned school spirit.
-
The best part is where he said "they play in bowls."
There was that one, the other one and the Meineke Car Care back in 2005.
;D

Moseley is an OL out of Hillsborough. 3 stars by Rivals, and interested in WVU.
-
CB
4 stars by Rivals, 2 by Scout
Out of Lakeland
-
Are we recruiting this kid at all? Everything I have read (and I don't have any premium services) does not mention him as being interested or about us being interested. Seems odd for a kid in our backyard.
-
Looks like we have some good players coming in this weekend. I think Javarris James is a real long shot. I hope Thaddeus Lewis, Kevin McCaskill and Don Moseley would be heading this way though.
-
A couple years ago I was amazed at the size difference between the Southern Miss line and ours. At the bowl game I thought the sizes were pretty even. Good to see us getting bigger and hopefully better.
-
This year, with what we have the only question is whether the kids are out there hustling and playing as best they can. Are teams getting psyched to play us? No, but that's to be expected and we may snag a win or two that way. Other than that its just hustle and building as good a foundation we can for work ethic and effort.

Hold on. I had no idea I was expounding on views that were also adhered to by the resident board nut case.
Please disregard my two previous posts on this thread. I need to do some serious soul searching on this matter.
HAHAHAHAHAHA.............ROTFLMAO

If this were true, then Smith would have no option but to resign and try to salvage his reputation. I mean what would you do if your incredible genius was being obscured by CJL?
-
I am a relative newcomer to the board and believe CJL is the guy. However, there are a few who believe he is not a good coach at all. My question then is very simple, when did you first believe that CJL was not the man for the job and what were the circumstances that led you to believe it? A specific year or game is what I am looking for.

I do not think we regressed and they improved. After UCF we beat Louisville, Rutgers, Cincinnati and Syracuse, and lost to Miami, WVU, UConn, Pittsburgh and NC State. After us, UCF beat Marshall, Houston, UAB, Memphis, ECU, and survived Rice. Lost to Southern Miss, Tulsa and Nevada, the only teams they played with winning records.
Other than WVU and Miami our losses were against average teams. Their losses were against average teams. Our wins (Rutgers and Louisville) were better.
Having said all that, I would not be shocked if we lost next year, they play the games for a reason.

Looks to me that we will have a good solid class, nothing more, unless something big happens. Of course if Stirrups does not sign then it would be downgraded.
Only way I see us going up substantially is if Javarris James and/or DaRon Rose committed.
I know I know, rankings are not everything, but for discussion purposes they are something.
