Was in first grade and I remember that day very clearly.

Considering the past season we had and a new coach I would give it a A. If we can have a decent year this year and get atleast 6 wins and show improvement
then next years class could be our best ever. If he has an awesome year and we get like 8 or more wins which will be very hard, but if that happened
no doubt we have a top 25 class next year.

He looks huge!! How big is he? One minor knock, he does run a little too upright.
Reminds me a little of Mike Ford with that style .... and hopefully that's where the similarities end.
I agree he does remind me Ford in how he cuts and his size.
He only does the awkward running when hit goes into his top gear so I don't have a problem with it.
If he can get up to about 210-215lbs that would be perfect he will be able to punish the secondary and yet
keep most of his speed. He should be a good one.
-
Given a RS year I can see him near 220-225lbs and 6' 5" he has the tools to be a great QB.
He could be the steal of the new players comming in.
The foundation is being put down and I can see a very potent offense in a few years.
Exciting times for USF football.
Indeed but depending on if we get anyone else at QB I don't know if he RS over our current QB's. Floyd was very hard to watch this year.
Floyd was tough to watch at times but with another year and with better coaching he could be decent enough that we RS White.
Plus we have Bobby also which I think will be a senior?

It takes 11 commited players to make a championship team. not headlines or stars..The "No Name offense" Green Bay. worked because they all supported each other...Im am more interested in good players who are team players then "Star" players who just think of themselves.
I do agree you want team players but the CB position is maybe the one position that doesn’t have to be a great “team playerâ€
All he needs to do is shut down his WR, have a good season and move on to the NFL. I say take the kid we need secondary help big time.
I am sure once he got around the team and got some friends he would be fine.

Given a whole year and if the team plays well and wins 6+ games then watch out, next years class will be our best ever.
USF needs to become the boise state of the south.
USF should aim higher than Boise State. I see USF as a yearly NC contender when they get into a power 5 conference. The recruiting area, the tv market, and hopefully the improved records and play will allow us to get into the ACC or Big 12 during the next conference reallignment.
No I think aiming for Boise State is fine, USF hasn't even won a conference championship and your talking yearly contender for the NC LOL
If CWT can really lock down tampa bay talent and keeps the big time hs players from UF and FSU then and only then can we start to talk
about making any sort of run at a NC.

Forgot the old days when we use to beat Syracuse like a drum.

It wouldn't take much to upgrade our last staff, I think we got a great upgrade.
Might not see it for a few years but USF will turn around.
-
Alot of experience being brought in, this was a homerun hire
-
Would be cool but I want the best coaches CWT can land even if they went to UCF I would take them.
-
Good hire, I like the staff CWT is putting together.
He isn't pulling a holtz and bringing a bunch of his close friends to help.
-
Sabans first year at Alabama they lost to a sunbelt team so programs aren't usually turned around in one season so
so I don't expect to much in one season.
-
I'm sorry I'm not wearing the G&G goggles on this hire.
Some people seem to think NFL automatically means results in college whether recruiting or on the field. Remember Bill Callahan or Mike Sherman? It really all comes down to results. Hes statistically had some of the worsts defenses in the NFL consecutively and that team he coached to the SB was known for its explosive offense under Gannon and Rice and got pounded by the Bucs.
Connections can get you anywhere in life.
Umm his defense wasn't that bad at oakland top 10 for a few years.
-
He graduated from the naval academy so he should bring intensity and discipline. Something this defense has lacked
since Holtz came here.
I can't wait for the spring game!!
-
Would you all hire a guy that had the chance to work with Marvin Lewis, Nick Saban and Bill Belichick? I know I would.
What about someone who coached defenses that were ranked in the top 10 in the NFL:
- 2000 Raiders Def. 9th
- 2001 Raiders Def. 19th
- 2002 Raiders Def. 6th
- 2003 Raiders Def. 25th
You do not become a defensive coordinator multiple times in the NFL for not knowing what you are doing.
This, plus I thought Oakland dumped alot of players after the 02 season so a big reason why they sucked that year.
-
Sounds like a decent hire, like said Raiders and Bengals are hard teams to win at.
He has plenty of NFL experience trust me the new crappy big east will be alot easier than going up against the Colts and Patriots.
I like the hire.

I am just happy college football season is over. I can now start to look forward to USF and its new beginning. Personally these last two years with a crapy team and conference realignment have been lost seasons for me.
Felt same way here is hoping 2013 season gets things turned around
-
The game is won and lost at the line hope cwt
can build a nasty o and d line.
-
Oregon would have been better but i dont see them winning
-
Name a team outside sec that had a shot of beating alabama?
I cant think of any.
-
Alabama is just that good.

Big Louisville fan for atleast one night. Looking good so far
Bench is a gamer

We don't need the second coming of Joe Montana we just need a decent qb that can take a snap
and isn't a turnover machine. If Bench can do that he will be are starter this year.
