  1. we will never win a championship with CJL, mark my words. I like the guy and have a lot of respect for him, but it's coming time to move on.

    After one freaking bad game?

WTF are you talking about? I guess you must the last 6 years where the schedules have become harder every year and the man had to recruit out of double wide?

    Thanks for the "contribution".

  2. tennesse plays two freshman qbs

to start banks again(when he has other able body qb's on the bench) would be professional suicide for leavitt

i thought banks could run the offense and was led to believe thatt.I didn't think he was  one of the worst  qb's in the country

about sacking it up-does that mean to stop complaining and criticizing?we did that with seth G

there is something terribly wrong with our offense

instead of bringing in a ton of  rbs we should have recruited 5 more qbs and keep changing them until one knows how to complete a pass beyond the down marker

    * Earth to smazza....Tenn starts two 5-star, All-American QBs. USF starts two kids that were last minute pickups at QB.

    * banks and julmiste are both equally as terrible, starting either one of them based on your rationale would be professional suicide.

    * leavitt didn't mislead anyone. What is he going to say..."yeah both our guys suck?"

    * in case you haven't notice we have not been able to recruit any QBs until this season.

    * also...in case you haven't figured it out, all those running backs we collected in the off season are going to have to be how we win games.

  3. Even though the evidence was piling up, I still wasn't convinced...there had to be more to those wrinkles and baggy eyes so I did some more googling...

At first I couldn't find anything...until I change my search parameters and typed in:

    S-T-O-N-E A-G-E  O-F-F-E-N-S-E

Once again google shows why it's IPO deserved so much hoopla b/c it unearthed this little ditty of Lou Holtz in one of his early coaching jobs :

  4. It is a complicated question, but thanks to Al Gore's Internet invention I was able to find some historical evidence that might help us date this living coaching fossil.

Much like George Washington, Lou cannot tell a lie so I checked the American Revolutionary War Archives and sure enough we have proof of Lou Holtz crossing the Delware with George Washington:

  5. cyber,

as long as we stay with them, and keep the continued hard recruiting effort at Hills High.  Don't slow play, be up front and don't expect anything, don't play the recruiting game, Coach G hates negative recruiting, and above all be honest.

Generally speaking Leavitt has always done this, and thus earned the respect of most staffs in the Bay Area, including Coach G and his staff.

I know the wife of Hillsborough High's athletic trainer. She goes to all the games and she has mentioned that there are ton of athletes at that school. If we can cement a pipeline to Hills High that would be huge. Throw in Armwood and Jefferson and this program would skyrocket.....and to be honest it looks like we are on our way.

  6. Uh, hello!  Can you honestly say you have better QBs than UCF on your roster right now?  I doubt it.

Your QB situation is not exactly rosy either:

    Keeping their attention

O'Leary spent a considerable part of Friday's practices preaching about speed and smarts. QB Steven Moffett got an earful.

O'Leary moved in freshman QB Kyle Israel to work with the first unit after he became frustrated by Moffett's quiet laid-back demeanor in the huddle.

Must suck to be Alex Haynes. That is,  a quality RB entering his senior season w/o an OL or QB.

  7. The #8 QB in the country according to you. I guess he was also #8 qb at Auburn.

Actually he was never given a chance at QB, b/c the moment he stepped on campus he was talked into switching positions. It's one of the oldest big-school tricks in the books. This move also tell us that he is a team player, b/c despite Auburn going back on their promise he gave Auburn enough effort to win the starting cornerback job.

A more legitimate question would be where would Denson stack up if he was given a legitimate shot at playing QB? The fact that Auburn moved him to CB does not necessarily suggest that he can't be a great college QB.

Most SEC teams put their best players on defense and they probably saw his abilities better utilized as CB than at QB. You have to remember that Auburn is not a big passing team, so all they need is a QB to manage the offense, or in other words hand the ball off and complete the occasional 3rd and 3 pass to move the chains.

BTW, he was being recruited as QB by many teams including VPI, who incidently did pretty well with a very similar smaller ultra athletic QB.  Remember Michael Vick? One of the main reasons Denson reneged on his verbal was b/c there was no way he was going to ever win the starting job with Marcus Vick at Tech. That doesn't mean that he is not as talented as Vick but just the reality that sometimes you can't compete against a legacy.

  8. I know that this isn't the board, but as many other offenders, just wanted more to view ...  ;)

There are quite a few world travelers, and wondered if anyone has seen this:  :o

The future Mrs. and I are at a local mall ... in the food court and I have to relieve myself (Love the Beer in mall food courts  ;D ) ... so I go to the men's room and look straight at the urinals when I enter and what do I see ?

Urinals Full of ...ICE  :o  ???  :-X  :-/ What the Flip is this ? Should've taken a picture. Well, I melted a few ice cubes, obviously.

Anyone else ever see this ?

    Go BULLS !!!

I never seen ice, but you know you are in Southern Piss country when you see these thing floating in your urinal. This is a good example of advertising ideas gone bad.

  9. If you need any other reason why the NFL should not be forced to change it's age restrictions, just look at the NBA.

Tonight the pistons and pacers combined for a 50 point first half. This is a direct result of the influx of young players in the league who have no idea how to play the game.

As a fan of both professional sports I don't know that I would be willing to pay top dollar to watch the NFL equivalent of the NBA. This is what is going to happen if they open the door to underclassman.

BTW, the NHL and MLB don't compare b/c players can be drafted and placed in a minor league system to develop their skills. That will never happen in football and basketball so there is no sens making the comparisons between these sports.

  10. Well, less than a week to the BIG DAY !!!  ;D

Gonna be a busy week down here gettin' ready ... then after Saturday ... Gettin'Busy !!!  ;)

Have the family flying in on Thursday and a bud coming Friday.

    Go BULLS !!!

Hey ET, I am going to be on vacation most of the month of June, so please accept an early "Congratulations" on your upcoming voes.

    Good luck and congrats!

  11. Funny how all these new concerned bulls fans are cropping up. Another reason to ban guest posting.....

Memo to those of you who can't read: last time I checked Washington State has a very successful football program and Woolard was heavily involved in its operation.

Memo # 2: In case you have not figured it out, Jim Leavitt runs the football program. Do you really think Leavitt needs any help in growing the program? The new AD needs to be involved in providing resources and ensuring the academic integrity of the athletic programs. We don't anyone to micromanage our coaches.  That is unless you want Leavitt to really consider going elsewhere in three years.

Considering that the biggest problems at USF right now are basketball ...on and off the court, it would seem that Woolard is perfectly suited for the job. Especially when you consider that he had little old St. Louis in the Top 30 in attendance every year in a market very similar to Tampa Bay.
