  1. I have been watching our performances in Track and Field.  Get that mile relay team up on the line as four wide receivers.  Our Track team is actually very good.  Too bad it's not a revenue sport.  More people would be excited about it!

When it is time to talk coaching extensions, Jenkins would be one I'd look at.

Overall, Jenkins has coached seven conference freshmen of the year, 26 conference most outstanding performers, and guided his teams to 183 individual and 24 relay championships since 2008. As well as the 2024 men’s conference championship.

In addition, Jenkins has coached 238 NCAA preliminary participants, 123 NCAA final participants and 88 All-Americans. In addition to his NCAA success, Jenkins has also coached five Olympic Trials qualifiers, four World Championship qualifiers, and two Olympians.

If the NFL is willing to play ball after all this time it means they are starting to get nervous. The NCAA should try to undercut the NFL and keep kids in their prime athletic years in college and start paying them. They have more dedicated fan bases in college and they should use this advantage over the NFL.

Imagine if kids coming out of college were between 25-28 instead of 22? The NFL would basically become the senior tour. They would have to eventually develop their own minor league system that would compete with CFB driving up costs and potentially cutting their ad deals if they start to decline because of age of players\loss of viewership.

Hadn't thought of that.  Pretty good insight as far as the age thing goes.  They'll never let that happen.

The ACC is still getting paid  more than the majority of FBS  football and just want more more more. Greed and Corruption has is killing college sports.  I don't think the current college students value sports nearly as much as we do.

Good point.  When it ceases to be as important to the fans, the bottom line goes away.  And since carriage fees are going away, a lot of programs are going to suffer due to that diminished importance and demand.

You’re looking at it from the wrong point of view. This format would allow us to control our own destiny and push our administration to prioritize winning. Right now we could go undefeated every year and not be included in the CFP or expansion. This format, as long as we play well and win, we stay in the top tier.

Good God!  And I thought I was an optimist.  God bless you, son.

  5. I don't watch pro sports.  I have no affinity for the teams.  I don't know that I will have any affinity for USF sports after these changes.  With the turnover in players and them only looking for the payday, I really can't see what would make a USF team any different than any other team.  What would be USF about a player who ducks in for a payday and then transfers out for more money after one year?  Why would the players have to take classes at all?  Do we make other USF employees take classes?

We may destroy the sport, but hey, at least we were "fair" while we had it.  :bang:

We are being led by rake steppers.

I can't remember one day to the next. Getting old is no fun.

And that right there opens up a whole new activity - rewatching old football games because I've long ago forgotten if we win, highlights, and basically everything else about the game.  Just watched some USF vs UCONN last night.

I just wouldn't wager on the results.  You'll go broke.

  7. I like FAU.  When we played them first time down at what looked like a high school field, their fans were great!  Invited my wife and I to tailgate with them and who couldn't like Schnelly?  There's only one fanbase that I loathe and that is purely due to their actions.  And we don't have anything to do with them anymore as far as football.  The others are just teams we play.
