It's fun to watch.

His wife asked him, "Honey, do these pants make my butt look big?" He doesn't remember anything after that.

We exist to please the whims of corporations.
Where cynicism intersects with reality. Thank God I am old. But it would be nice to see us in a good conference before I go to that Big Smoky Party in the Sky.

Never thought I would see the demise of the Pac 10. But then, I never realized the power of the networks to control the sport that way that they do.

"The team also plays in Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, so it has the capacity for a move up."
Soooo, is RJ an asset or a liability? Is our proposed OCS so small that we have no room to grow and a major conference wouldn't want us? Did Adam and Eve have navels? That article is so good that it just gives rise to all kinds of deep questions.

Maybe put the first quarter later in the game when we are warmed up.

I would go just to see that. A Bullspen tunnel made of board members for you to walk through!

Army beating 20th ranked Air force gotta like that
Not as an Air Force vet! But, yes, a W for a new conference mate is nice.

If we can get the next game it's a coin flip for bowl game...
Before this season started, I never would have believed that the above sentence would be posted in sincerity. The team is ahead of where I would have put them for a first season coach/system/team.

Is that "Rock, paper, scissors"?

Sadly, this is exactly the team I would expect. It seems like we step up to the level of tougher opponents and a different team plays the following week. Lets break that cycle.
I am sure that I read many versions of your post about fifteen years ago. We've rarely been consistent. Beat WVU and lose to Futgers. It has been exciting (how's that for a euphemism?) Depth has a lot to do with it and, really, this team/system/staff only have less than a season working together.

I've been called the cheapest SOB on the planet and even I have the HULU, Disney, and ESPN+ because I dropped cable (saved $200/mo). The only time I am sorry I dropped cable is when the games are on channels I can't get but until we do better, I will get most of the games. I can get lots of streaming for that $200.

...and I want it now!

Yeah, that sounded better when I said it to myself. Far enough to make a day trip out of it, but close enough to drive?

Hard to imagine an undefeated G5 that beats Bama in Tuscaloosa wouldn't somehow find its way into the playoffs ....
Yeah, that bias would be too obvious and would have to be dealt with.

There are a lot of "alumni" (veterans) of the military. Lot's of eyeballs for the Commander's Cup and for Army v Navy every year.
Last year's viewership numbers by team put all the service academies higher than USF's by at least thirty positions.
I am not sure we need to be concerned about anyone else's value to a conference until we add some ourselves.

I'm also of the opinion that we should go with man. I watched so many receivers running wide open against the zone against FAU because our guys didn't react until after the ball was well on its way. At least give man coverage a shot because it can't really be a whole heck of a lot worse than what we're seeing with zone.
If we go man against a dual threat qb, he'll run all over us. It might work against a pocket passer.
