  1. Since I've been called out for letting my UCF show, in an attempt to save face I will say yes, yes I am ;D
  2. Understand that, which would be why i said I found that statement hard to believe if it was still closed. Just feel IMO that there is no reason this game shouldn't draw less than that number. Now if the past 2 games are a reflection we'll be lucky to have actual attendance of 36,000-37,000 (given that announced/paid attendance and actual attendance has differed by about 3,000-4,000 each game)
  3. I'm all for free beer, unfortunately given the fat that they reduced the size from 32 oz to 24 oz and still charge the same price i doubt it'll happen :-[
  4. Know this isn't the be all end all of tickets, but best available on ticketmaster.com is Sec 232 Row E with 3rd level not open. Understand 3rd level was opened last two games to satisfy group tickets, but find it hard to believe we'll have more people if no one is up there at all. Must be banking on a lot of walk-up tomorrow. Hope he is right though, we need the crowd in force and as i've said before, there is no reason why this game shouldn't draw less that 45,000-50,000
  5. I'd say no based on their schedule layout as of right now. They have SportsCenter scheduled for 6-7 and College GD Scoreboard for 7-7:45. They already moved kickoff up to 6:45 to accomodate ESPNU so I highly doubt they would move it again the day before to show it on the mothership. If they receive enough requests from KY and FL they MIGHT show it as a regional broadcast, but I would think at this point its highly unlikely.
  6. Thats cause when a game is well in hand at the start or midway through the 4th quarter the priorities have shifted to parties or post-game tailgating. If its close tomorrow night I have all confidence everyone will remain in their seats until the end.
  7. While I have no problem with the Green and Gold chant, having 9,000 students holding up little flyers to try and start it is a bit absurd. The "17" flyers were great because they were subtile yet effective to those who knew the significance. To echo the sentiments of a few in the earlier post on this subject, you can't force it, just like you can't force traditions. Traditions are created because something somewhat unique is started and accepted. Once you start trying to force tradition you're going to end up getting more people who don't want to do it because its forced. If you have to try this hard to think of something to put on a square of paper, should probably just let it go for this one
  8. For what its worth, before the FAMU game my fiance and I were at Kay Jewelers in the Brandon Mall and I was wearing my Bulls gear and the manager said something to me about USF purchasing the mall/land. He said that they were having to relocate their store from there because of it. He may have been misinformed and they may just be moving to the new 56 Mall as well, but thats what he told me.
  9. Isn't a lottery ususlly implemented when demand is greater than supply? Why not just allow the students to pick up tickets during the week (a 'la companion tickets) or get tickets at a designated area on game day then enter through any gate?
  10. I'm not saying its going to sound like Neyland Stadium or the Big House, but when you have between 40,000 and 50,000 people in a stadium it has the potential to be loud and disruptive when its not only 10,000-15,000 of those people making noise
  11. Exactly!!!! Obviously the game is decided on the field and we need to be near perfect in all 3 areas of the game, but lets not discount the 12th man. Going back to some discussions in other posts from earlier this week regarding crowd noise, WE must be in this game from before the opening kick-off. This is not a game to be sitting down when we are on defense. Every week, if there are 2 times a game that the entire stadium is on their feet its a lot. That cannot be the case this week. If we want our defense to be creative and come with disguised blitzes and whatnot, we must be a factor in that by making it difficult for Brohm to make adjustments and change calls at the line. You always hear opposing teams talk about how hard it is to play in particular stadiums because of the crowd noise and "hostile environment". This is a game where we need to make RayJay the hostile environment for the boys wearing red and white.
  12. Not gonna happen. Since we stormed the field 3 times a couple of years ago they line the student section with RayJay employees to keep us off the field. If they happen to let us on the field, they'll probably surround the goal posts with HCSO like they did after we beat BGSU. Bottom line, there are no excuses for people to make to not be at this game. You'd be hard-pressed to find another opponent that will be coming in as highly ranked as the Cards are any time soon (excluding Miami, which should pack the place either way given the fact its Miami) To paraphrase Lou Pinella: When people start caring around here, maybe we'll start winning more **** games. They call it home-field advantage for a reason, lets keep it tha way. DECK THE CARDS!!!!!
  13. I agree whole-heartedly. As I mentioned once before on this board, everyone wants to call Tampa a football town, but I guess that only appiles to the NFL. For less than $40 you can get into the game, park and have some food and/or drinks. By my math thats less than just a ticket to a Bucs game (in most cases). This is our first Big East game against a Top 10 opponent (and closest thing to a rival we have in the BE). There is no reason we can't have 50,000+ in the stands Saturday night. Everyone grab a friend and get them in the game!!!!!
  14. My group sits in the same seats in the student section every game and try and try to get everyone going. This weekend wasn't too bad as a good number of people in our section were standing and getting loud, but it is pretty upsetting to look around the rest of the stadium and see nothing going on. Among other things you will see us doing over the course of the game is waving our hats in the air and yelling GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO BULLS before every kickoff, crowd push-ups after a score and people standing on chairs and sitting on shoulders getting everyone up on big plays. As for people wanting something traditional or whatever, as corny as it sounds, how about following the drum line out after the game? If you're willing to wait an extra 5-10 minutes after the game and celebrate a victory, the drum line exits the stadium down the rampway by the pirate ship. They all gather and wait, then they start to play all the way down the ramp. Its really cool when you get a crowd gathered behind them all fired up and cheering then walking out with them. I may sound silly, but its something fun and an experience you can't get at any other type of football game. PS: Thanks to whoever brought all the "17"s and handed them out in the student section. We had much fun with those.
  15. Agreed.....out of 11 receivers on the roster 6 are freshmen and 3 are sophomores, so we seem to have a nice stockpile there (and thats not including Amp Hill, who will have 2 years of eligibility left - '06 and '07) If Denson stumbles, hopefully Grothe or Hill will standout enough to show they deserve the job......we may be a year or 2 away from being in the position FSU is in now with Weatherford and Lee
  16. For what its worth, Ticketmaster.com is not allowing for 3rd level to be purchased for UCF, so obviously the number isn't large enough for that (yet).........when searching best available for 2 tickets it gave me 231 D, which is club level in the visitors area
  17. As fun as tailgating is, I think 0 for your last 12 might have something to do with that   ;D
  18. I'm not defending his position, I'm just making a general statement. It ranges far beyond his statements about the receivers and whatnot. Everyone is complaining about his negative reaction towards the team and that won't change until we change it by showing it on the field (ie: winning games like the one on Saturday) My point is our own marketing department is advertising bands as the selling point to the game, but we expect media to take us seriously and respect us. I never said that crowds were going to give us a national presence. But once again, we can't complain about the coverage we receive locally if the local people aren't going to care. And if locals don't care, why are people on a nationwide scale going to care. My point was, lets not be Bucs fans and start caring about the team and going to games when they're winning. The more support that we garner, the more we'll be talked about and covered.
  19. We do what we can........its not like that every week, but on special occassions........ususally there bout noon or 1pm.......and we have no problem taking it into the game, we're the rowdy bunch in the front row just to the left of the band (if you're facing the band) and the originators of the USF crowd push-ups after a score
  20. As compelling as this is to read, I would like to give one piece of advice..........don't get your panties in such a bunch over what Duemig says or has said. You have to remember, he is an old-school Philly guy. There is a differnet mentality about sports up there than there is down here. No matter how good a performance is, it will quickly be followed by criticism over what could have been better (think a coach's press conference after a 63-0 win where they start pointing out mistakes and such rather than just praise the performance). Now if the execution is poor in a particular area, that is what is going to get disected and torn to pieces. Now, was his name calling warranted? That depends on how you look at it, everyone is going to have their own opinion on that. But seriously, how different is it than calling a guy alligator arms or yelling at a guy for a false start or some other stupid penalty. To sit here and cry that he is calling guys names and doesn't support the program isn't going to get anything done and it certainly isn't going to get him to change his opinion. We may as well just say that we're taking our ball and going home and cry for our mommies. If we want to change his opinion, it needs to be done on the field. If you want him to talk about the program, it needs to be done on the airwaves. You can't sit here and complain that someone doesn't talk about USF, then you listen for a week and there is one phone call to talk about us. If we're not being talked about, we need to do what it takes to get talked about. And we're not doing ourselves any favors if our response to him is "don't talk bad about us and call our players names", thats just fuel to the fire. I can go on and on and on, but I'd just end up repeating alot of what has already been said, so I will leave you with this: If you want to be pissed at someone, be pissed at the so called "rabid football fans" of Tampa Bay. Everyone around here claims to be a huge football fan and wants to dub Tampa a "Football Town", but its too hard for them to do it on Saturday nights from August - November. Everyone wants to brag about the Bucs having a 100,000 person waiting list for season tickets, but we have to struggle to bring in 30,000 on a consistant basis. Our radio ads for Saturday are putting the game second to the "battle" between the USF and FAMU bands!!!!! We are in a BCS Conference people. We have a legitimate opportunity to put ourselves on the map and get a national presence. It may not be fair to make the comparison but Michigan packed in over 100,000 for Northern Illinois. We ARE big time now people, whether you want to admit it or not, and we need to start acting like it. Get off your asses and get to the games. There are no excuses anymore!!!!!
  21. If you're looking for early i'd say the mall is the way to go........been tailgating there for 3 seasons and never had a problem no matter what time we got there........couple of seaons ago we got there at 9am for an 8pm game and last season we got there at 6am for the 11am kickoffs
  22. Thanks for the update..........10am tailgating shall live on for another season!!!!!!!! ;D
  23. This may have already been discussed, but anyone planning on making a big road trip(s) this season? I'm sure the obvious choice for most is Miami, but unfortunately I am unable to make this one. Being a Jersey transplant I will be taking a lovely November vacation to the Garden State to see our Bulls stomp Rutgers. Hopefully there will be some more braving the elements to make this particular trip and we can paint the Scarlet Knights Green and Gold.
