I will never, for as long as I live, forget the wide-eyed look on my buddy's face when I looked down the bleachers during that moment of complete silence after Hester scored. It felt like that second lasted forever before our corner exploded. I couldn't even bring myself to watch Delbert's last second kick in regulation. I covered my eyes and just listened for crowd reaction. That was such a wild game. We probably should have run them out of the building with all the turnovers we caused, but we couldn't punch it in the end zone any time we got close. Left a lot of points on the field and nearly blew it before Jerome Murphy's huge kickoff return to set up the final drive.

That kick return does not get the credit it deserves.  Without that, there is no Grothe to Hester.

That is a pretty good beer. It is not as strong of a beer I am inclined to choose but I like it. Even taking that and the fact that it was draft into account, 15 is a bit much. Whatever pain you suffered, just know it would have been worse with a mass produced domestic.

I am not a heifeweizen guy at all, but hey, they were free that night!  Thankfully they weren't double IPA's.

I love the huge upsets as well, the day we beat Auburn, App state beat Michigan.  These types of upsets will be fewer and far between with the new model and the NIL. The playoffs viewership is dropping due to the same teams and this will further exacerbate the problem.  The point is that college is going the way of the NFL and we already have the NFL and there lies the rub.

Yes, I agree that it's looking like CFB is going going down the path of becoming NFL 2.0.  I hate the thought of that, but when players are shopping themselves around for best offers and effectively getting paid to play the game, how much of that passion, rivalry, innocence, etc. that comes through in the product is going to be lost?  We shall see.  It's probably blasphemous to even speak these words, but there have been times that I really looked back on USF's I-AA days and almost wished to be back there with all of the BS going on in the upper levels.

  4. While I am a USF fan first and foremost, I will watch all college football, regardless of teams, division/etc.  I love the passion, the pageantry, bands playing between downs, huge upsets with fans storming the field, etc., whereas for the NFL, I watch pretty much only Bucs games.  Only way I can foresee changing my viewing habits is if college starts going the way of the NFL with regards to the above.

Scott was very clear about the decision in his presser. Here are the highlights:

-GB completed 80% of his passes since camp open. The next closest QB was 67% (he didn't name which one).

-GB graded out over 90% in making the right play in his attempts.

-Prior to the first practice they polled the offensive players and asked them to list their top 3 leaders. GB, having not had a single practice with the team, was in the top 3 with Cecil and Meech. He received 27 votes. No other QB on the roster received a single vote.

-CJS said that before he brought GB in for a visit, he spoke with Timmy and his father to explain the situation. He said that he was prepared to lose Timmy at that moment. If he wasn't, he wouldn't have brought GB in. Also stated that they told Timmy on Sunday night. There wasn't a single coach that didn't think GB should be the #1. They waited to publicize the Davey O'Brien nomination for GB until after the QB competition closed out of respect for Timmy. It would appear that they handled the situation as best and with as much class as possible.

-Stated that his #1 duty is to put this year's team in the best position to win. GB does that. Can't be concerned with 2 to 3 years from now. Knows Timmy is going to go on and do big things, wishes it was here, but he understands. Explains how he went through something similar with Bryant and Lawrence at Clemson.

-Timmy is the ONLY player that has transferred out since he has been here that he actually wanted to stay. Quite the indictment of everyone else.

Thanks for the recap.  Sounds like a no-brainer and that the coaching staff handled the situation appropriately.  Moving on.

  6. Gerry is a Junior, right?  Everyone is talking about Timmy redshirting for the starting job down the road.  Maybe he is seeing the writing on the wall that even after Bohannon leaves, if Brown is looking like the next coming, then he's still going to be the odd man out.  Obviously injuries can throw all of that out the window but he may be thinking there is no longer a clear path to being the starter.

Rank - The first four are essentially the same design. UM spent a lot of money to get their mini-field.

1 - USF IPF - 100 yds plus endzones, painted white truss system

1 - Buccaneers  IPF - 100 yds plus endzones, painted white truss system

1 - FSU IPF - 100 yds plus endzones, painted white truss system

1 - UF IPF - 100 yds plus endzones, painted white truss system

2 - UM IPF - 70 yds plus endzones, steel color truss system (check out the sat images, they ran out of room to do a full 100yds with a road in the way)

10 - UCF IPF - 100 yds plus endzones, steel color truss system, add some hay and animals and you got a barn....surprised the University of Chainlink Fence does not have extensive use of the chainlink in there like they do in the bounce house and surrouding their outdoor fields.

University of Chainlink Fence!  How have I not heard this one yet?!  Outstanding!!!
