We will be way better inside next year. Coach just needs to pick up a really good 3 pointer shooter.

I like the JUCO from Wallace College - Jimmie Williams - to be that guy. Third-team All-American, he was Top 25 nationally in scoring (22.5 PPG), rebounds (8.3 RPG), assists (4 APG), free throw percentage (75%) and field goal percentage (54%). Shot 37.4% on 65 made threes and he's a sturdy 6-5. That's the guy we need.

My only thought is that someone has to throw in the midweek games.   He appears to use those games to try and help develop some players so he could be holding out hope that he can get him to come around and give some quality innings by the end of the season

I guess, but when is it time to realize he probably just is what he is?

Archie, T MInk and Brown give up 6 runs in 2 1/3 innings combined.   Other 5 pitchers threw well.  Good to see Scrape back on the mound.  He looked good out of the pen earlier in the year.

Why does Billy continue to put Tanner Mink out there . . . ever? ERA near 10 in 15 innings. We get a 4-3 lead last night and TM promptly walks a guy, hits a guy with a pitch to open the next inning. Then Skeen does no better.

I agree. I think if Amir’s nephew comes in we might be a different team as in bigger and more physical in most of the positions. We just need that guy that will make shots when we really need them like Youngblood and Miguel did.

I just posted a highlight reel of Dante Oliver - Asst. Coach Desmond Oliver’s son. Check it out. Looks like a shot maker to me. Maybe not as a freshman, but eventually. Wonder why/if he’s not already committed. And CJ Brown is a potential three-level scorer.

  5. It’s all about development at this point. As mentioned in another thread, despite these huge losses, the cupboard isn’t empty IF there is continued development from guys like Walker, Tobiloba, Knox and Reid. Reynolds is a legit big, Brown could be an impact freshman and Coach Amir knows what he has in Jennings and Stroud. If they’re all here in the fall, that’s a solid eight to build around. Bring in his nephew from Georgia, Coach Oliver’s son, and a few more solid guys and you have a competitive club.

We don’t even have any money to keep the conference player of the years this crazy.I feel like we’re HCC.
No wonder we’re not in a power 5

So we have one good season after a decade of slop and we're suddenly supposed to be flush with cash in the NIL? Are you giving?

  7. Anyone heard anthing about Asst. Coach Oliver's son Dante? I believe he did a post-grad year at IMG. He had committed to ETSU out of school, but didn't attend when Dad was let go and came to join Coach Amir's staff. From what I remember, he was a decent prospect with some length and could shoot it.

it has absolutely always been that way. some people just have some idyllic vision of the past that didn't really exist.

Maybe, but much of it was done in the dark.

I think some of this roster-hopping could be avoided if the player still had to sit out a year before competing. Sure, pay the kids, but the first year you have to pay them just to practice. Might make the player and the program think a little bit harder about the decision.

  9. Nothing that is happening in collegiate sports today is meant to lift all boats and build a better, stronger product that creates more involvement. Every piece of it is designed to consolidate power in a handful of places. To an extent, it has always been that way, but right now, today, and the policies that are being put in place for the future are designed to shut programs out and make the overall product less competitive and less accessible outside of the chosen few.
