  1. Guys I strongly suggest against sitting in the endzone unless it is in the temporary seating on the lakeside of the stadium. The UCF student section sits caddy cornered to the end zone and spills into the endzone. I know you guys aren't sissies, and I know that college students from both of our schools should be mature. But let's face it, there will be booze and taunting. Generally, the visiting section is on the northwest side. I believe there are cheap seats in that section as well. Has the USF SG worked with the UCF SG and SID regarding this?
  2. Well then that makes me feel better that we got a commitment from his relative Ereck Plancher.
  3. The three games includes this year's games. The exit agreement called for parity in scheduling, but they can't force us to play a sixth game to make another 1 for 1 deal. Therefore, the final year will likely be waived. In short, they worded the exit agreement poorly. Yeah honestly I don't see how Britton ever got this job. If he can't figure out that 5 is an odd number, what else did he bungle?
  4. +21 is a great number. Although, I've got a bit of bad statistical news for you. According to Phil Steele's stats, teams with winning records and large positive turnover margins usually have a sophomore slump the next year and end up below 500. Statistics aren't axioms so take it with a grain of salt. But after reading that whenever I think high turnover margin, I cringe a little. It bothers me a lot because UCF had a good margin last year as well. We'll see.
  5. Who are you guys going to start on the O-Line this year and do you have a quality backup for each OL position? I'm guessing here. Center - Griffin , #2 Capogna. Guard - Walker, #2 Tolley Guard - Hunners, #2 Tolley Tackle - Dile, #2 Carnes Tackle - Watson (No way Jim Redshirts him if he doesn't have to). #2 Carnes. I think replacing Miller, Carothers, and Davis is going to be difficult. Will the new linemen be able to fill those shoes. Yes/No? Why? I think Griffin is going to be good. I also think that Tolley will be a good one. Question about Walker, I thought he left the team is that correct? Hunners should be good. Dile's a returning starter and Thed's a second team big east OT. However, you seem to have almost no depth along the line. And some of your more promising players are young. Last year I believe that the game for UCF was lost along the line. The announcers continued to talk about how the line was blown off the ball and jamming up the LBs. I wondered why not cram the box, but I know the answer. USF runs a spread offense and if you stack the box with 8, even PJ will throw some strikes. So it's imperative that our line plays well against USF since we can't stack the box to stop the run. Personally, I think with the departure of three of your interior linemen and the added year of strength and experience along our DL, that the results will be different in that phase of the game. Although, I thought with the departure of Herron the year before, you were going to step back but USF's line actually improved. So I could be wrong. But I just wanted to hear opinions from Bulls about the front five and the depth there.
  6. Okay a UCF analysis. WRs. I expect Mike Walker will not be 100% by the Bulls game. He tore his ACL and it's gonna take time for him to get right, and be confident on it. I don't see how our other receivers are magically going to get better. And I'm talking about Brooks Turner and Sergiori Joachim. They're physically good enough but for some reason didn't have the skill that Marshall and Walker had. However, I expect that Rocky Ross will be very improved. Can Ross be as good as Walker was last year for us? He might get close. The real interesting piece of speculation that I bring is Keith Houston. This guy had an early offer from Miami after his junior year. He fell out with his HS coach and was kicked off his team and the Miami offer dried up. Either Houston's coach was the jerk or Houston got his head back on straight and he's coming to UCF. If this guy was good enough to get an offer from Miami as a junior, I am anxious to see what he can do in our lineup. Hopefully, he will be ready. Plus we have two other physically talented receivers coming in but they don't have the same kind of backstory. QB. Please Moffet stay healthy. RBs. Kevin Smith, Jason Peters, Shane Smith. Nuff said. O-Line. Please continue to show progress and let's hope now that this is your third season that you guys work together as a team. Solid two deep here. But as usual they've got to gel. These guys learned how to run block. Let's see if they can pass block. D-Line. Emeka Okamor moved to DE. He's a big guy (270). I suspect this will definitely tighten up our run D on his side of the line. Gabourel came on strong at the DT spot last year. I think our 2-deep on the interior is going to show massive improvement. Gabourel, Shologan, Douzable, and Hubbard on the inside. Senior, Junior, Junior, Junior. Woohoo it's about time we had a two-deep DTs which wasn't all freshmen. Add in Rex Hill at DT, a JUCO from Mississippi. Then we have at least three talented freshmen DTs. However, I wouldn't expect freshmen to make a big push at this position. On the other end we've got Chris back, and Kareem Reid. Kareem has bulked up to 270 pounds. Chris is still lean at 240. So our starting lineup could be 270, 300, 300, and 270. This will hopefully stiffen us up against the run. LBs. The departure of Justin Warr and Travis Barr sucks big time. Travis showed a lot of potential but actually gave up football. It's a tough road, so I guess not everyone is going to make it. There was also the loss of Baker. Baker was looking to be the starter in the middle. He was big 230 and fast. He got rolled up and tore an ACL in the spring. Sandy will be back and is looking much bigger. He has added an additional 20 pounds. We've got Jordan Richards who was promising last year but had a shoulder injury. And Cory Hogue who did very well in his freshman year with several starts. And we'll be adding in several redshirt freshmen to the mix. I actually think that Alex Thompson is going to be very intriguing. He has gotten much bigger and is up to 220. In high school he played QB and ran a 4.5 at a Nike Combine. So this is a very unproven group. And there's a freshman or two who might get some time as well. Hopefully the larger D-Line will keep the OL at bay. DBs. Jason Venson, Joe Burnett, Johnell Neal make up a very young and talented core of DBs. Renford Parkes, Marlon Williams, and Sha'reff Rashad should also see a lot of action. I'm still waiting to see if Breon Rogers pans out. We'll be fine at this position. Slight step back at receiver since we've lost Marshall and Walker is coming back from an ACL. However, some improvement from the others may help to diminish the loss of Marshall. Some improvement at QB since this is Moffet's senior year. He should be poised. Improvement at OL. Let's see if they can pass block effectively. Running back is going to be awesome. TEs. Well we lose Darcy who had great hands. However, we've got a lot of guys with big bodies to fill in here. DL should be better against the run. Now we just have to replace Carrington on the edge. LBs. They will be improved but are stretched really really thin once again. DBs should be a bit more poised and return some very talented players. Our D should be better against the run with some more beef. Our OL should be better as well. Last year, USF really won the game in the trenches and blew our linemen off the ball on both sides. If you can't stop that massive gaping hole in the middle, the rest is academic right? So I think this year's contest will be very different and we've added something to help us against USF's strength which was the running game. And hopefully we'll mount one of our own. Okay I had to edit one thing. I feel I'm being too down on WRs Brooks Turner and Sergiori Joachim. They've maintained good attitudes and have worked hard. Maybe this will be the breakout year for them.
  7. Get the sideline seats. They'll either be in the 200's or low 300's. They'll put you on the visiting side so you can sit behind the Bulls bench. Just my opinion.
  8. Yeah but you gotta remember USF also beat Danny Muy and Chris Dearmas into the ground. Maybe Peoples will end up at FAU or FIU. ;D
  9. When Peoples decommitted for Maryland there was a huge falling out and the relationship soured. There is no more damage that can be done. Besides its not like we got Peoples on schollie and then released him. If we don't want to take a transfer, there's no grudge to be held. An 18 year old can vote for the president, go off to fight a war in Iraq, and we have no right to hold an 18 year old accountable for going back on his word? Bien you don't have the right to make other's opinions for them. Quit trying. It's true that holding grudges is futile. But refusing Peoples based on the past is not holding a grudge. Suppose we could use him and that's a real possibility. He comes to the team and coach places someone on the depth chart in front of him. In the back of Peoples' mind, he's going to wonder if he's being punished for the Maryland thing. Plus from the players' perspective, you know they're likely to get some chip shots on him. It could work but it would be very akward and not in either parties' best interest.
  10. Personally I don't know who is faster. With Steve having much less body fat I would think it would be Moffet. However, speed can't be gauged on physical appearance. I will say that neither of them are burners. I also would love to see which one has more arm strength and I believe that Steve gets teh edge. I'm not saying that PJ has a candy arm but Steve has a gun in his own right. Plus are you agreeing with me or not? I just said PJ bounce passes the ball. You pretty much affirmed that he isn't accurate. I mean he's really bad. Remember the joke. He couldn't hit water if he was standing in the ocean. Even PJ thinks that one is funny. PJ is a bigger guy but you don't want your QB to lower the boom. Daunte is a great example of that. They preached to him to not use his body because no matter how big you are you're risking way too much. Steve is taller, on the same footing in regards to speed, and is much more accurate. You don't have to be very accurate to be better than PJ though. Tools argument goes to Moffet.
  11. All of them combined aren't worth Daunte Culpepper. Go Fins. You mean other than winning CUSA East? Do you mean other than Alabama? Hardly.
  12. Um SM is a heckuva lot better than PJ. For Brandon M to bail you out, you at least have to not throw it in the dirt. PJ almost always seems to skip the ball before it got to the receivers. I think he believes it is basketball and bounce passes are legitimate.
  13. Um actually that was a reference to something USF used to brag about academically on their .edu website. USF is the most popular destination for transferring undergrad students. I believe they meant students from other four year institutions, especially out of state schools and not necessarily community colleges.
  14. I'm not so sure about the timing of the events. I know that ESPN brokered the deal between Texas and UCF. I've seen no implication about an either or proposition.
  15. Zonald, IIRC from your pictures you don't exactly look like a spring chicken. My question is what prompted you to become a lawyer? What were you doing before? Is it a positive financial move or are you backwards at this point since you're just starting out in this career?
  16. You only have 3 DTs on your roster. 78 Richard Clebert DT 94 Allen Cray DT 39 Siaosi Uhatafe DT 6-2/245 Clebert and Cray look decent but if I recall correctly, they aren't as good as Tim Jones was. Uhatafe is only 245 pounds so he's more likely to play DE. That's some quality depth you got there. So while you're not praying for freshmen to start, you don't exactly have a lot of backups. Now I did get this info from rivals so it may be outdated. And live in the now. Our true freshmen DTs Shologan and Okamor are now juniors. So when you say unlike ucf, you should say unlike ucf in 2004.
  17. UCF has done well in the past couple of years getting funding for our enrollment growth. I don't have any idea on the state of med school funding. Howeer, you've still got the Moffit Cancer center which is a good thing.
  18. Well you did lose Tim Jones, Royal, and Simmons to graduation. Frank Harry already quit, and Leslie Stirrups isn't going to qualify.
  19. Honestly, hearing all these stories about UCF fans being crappy to you guys makes me want to extend an invite to some guys for a tailgate to show that it's not that bad. I'll admit the student section is rough. I went to the SC game and was talking to some students and they dropped the F-bomb inadvertantly in front of my 7 year old. They weren't being beligerent but yeah young people use coarse language. But everybody does and it's disturbing that we've lost our decorum as a country. Yes I let the words fly under my breath at work, and personally it's where it starts. I was talking to a VEEP and we were discussing a fellow employee's blunder and I just casually said so is he on your **** list? He didn't bat an eyelash but with the other people present I quickly tried to excuse my french. And yeah yelling FARK USF is a bit different than what I've just described. I'm sure that some USF fans/students will be that classy at our event also. But don't let that convince you to stay home. I think we do need to launch a campaign for classy behavior before the game and drive home the importance and benefit of a little decorum.
  20. Leavitt took a UCF helmet to a USF practice and destroyed it with a bat in front of the Bulls players. The players said he went ballistic. I think Leavitt feels it is a rivalry. He also refers to UCF as those guys to the East. Make sure as many of you guys come as possible. It's gonna be fun. Maybe we should have a UCFSports Bullspen mixer?
  21. They're over there being extremely vitriolic. The pissing match threads are almost copies of UF-FSU pissing matches on warchant and gatorbiat.
  22. It's the proximity.  Many players played with or against each other in high school and/or were recruited by both schools.  If I could picka rival for UCF it wouldn't be USF. I'd rather be rivals with FSU or Miami.
  23. Trip, the more you try to deny it the more it looks like a rivalry.
  24. The fortunes of a football program can change rapidly, and UCF improved as the season wore on. But the bellicose tone of your argument belies the logic that you're attempting to put forth. If someone were to say ECU was a rival, I don't think it would get nearly the same response out of you. In fact, I believe you're having a really good time rubbing in the drubbing we got this year. And that is pretty much what rivals do. They trash talk their rivals. JMO. I could be wrong.
