Here's the explanation we received from the league. We questioned them on it and are not happy...

There was a glitch in the voting process. The calculations visible to NFL.com users were inaccurate. When the data was audited, Detroit WR Roy Williams had the most votes. The accounting process has since been fixed.

Whatta load of crap. At the very least they should make them CO-ROW.

My jaw dropped when I went to NFL.com and saw that Williams had won. I hope it is just an error on their part and they correct it asap. That just ain't right...  :-/

Figures. He only does it when he can gain financially off of it. Shows just how sincere he is.

I don't care whether or not he get's into the hall, because it isn't directly connected  to MLB, but he can NEVER be let back into MLB in any form. Unless they like being associated with lying cheaters who put thier monetary gains ahead of the game, no matter the consequences. With Selig at the helms I guess that is a distinct possibility though.

I might feel different if he had actually changed, but he's still a gambler. Just not a good idea imho.
