Purely speculation on my part, but I am thinking the deal was that Marsh could enter the portal with the risk that if USF took on another QB then he wouldn't have a spot to return to. He did so, didn't find a better offer out there (not surprising given his on-field performance over 2 seasons) and so he was able to return when USF did not take on a QB transfer. That would be supported by the timing of his recommitting.

Too bad Pennix transferred to the Washington Huskies. I think that's the seasoned QB we were going after. Kid's injury prone but a total stud. In any event, glad to have Marsh back.

  2. I really dig Torello and the coverage we get from him and Bay News 9. He loves trolling all sides on social media, but that helps get eyeballs on his content. I'm all for that. He's the best that we've had since Greg Auman. TBT's USF coverage is milquetoast to relatively non-existent, except when they throw a bone our way.

He was also good at leaving teams better off than when he got there in 3 of his 4 previous stops.

It wasn't really Coach Skull, it was his agent that was the mastermind behind the agreements at Oregon and FSU. And Coach Skull did indeed leave us in a better situation than what he inherited. I don't blame him for booking out and reaching for that Nike money.

Article on Fox 13 says they hope to have On Campus Football by 2026. Needs funding.

I think they have a few bigwigs committed on the funding front already. Otherwise, we wouldn't have heard the Weatherford proclamation. We'll need every donor big and small to get us over that finish line though.

I personally don’t care who we add. I don’t plan on us being in the AAC for more than 5 or 7 years anyhow. Just fill in the blanks with whoever so there’s a conference championship game and let’s win this thing as many times as we can.

This. We also need to work on converting more of our fickle fan base to come in support for USF, not who we're playing s against.

So everyone should pout and bail now, when things finally appear to actually be happening? Won't that just ensure failure rather than help create the success? I wish we would've built an OCS 10-15 years ago, but I'll **** sure take one now vs. never.

Now is not the time to take ball and go home. We need to support the alma mater, despite administration's mismanagement.

It will never have a dedicated beat writer again.  That ship has sailed.

To some extent, we're lucky we still even have a "local" paper... it's only a matter of time before they downsize further..

Call me naive, bit I think we will. Either athletics does enough to merit the beat writer, or enough folks complain about the lack of beat writer. I won't hold my breath on the latter.

One of my friends got his tooth knocked out by some drunk WVU fan for offering her some moonshine at a tailgate, but he was serious he always brought shine to the games. HE took it that my friend was making fun of him or something. Obviously cops come and the guy who was getting was crying  and trying to talk my friend out of it. Then my same friend got escorted out that game by the cops and arrested, but they let him go because they remembered he got his tooth knocked out earlier that night before the game.

How is this relevant to USF athletics, other than this odd occurrence allegedly happening during a tailgate?
