  1. Ok, at first I thought YouTube was not really something I would get into.  Well I am happy to say that I am mistaken.  I have noticed very little USF videos on there and would love to see more....

I think I caught a few USF Bulls football highlights.  I know there was at least 1 Andre Hall tribute on there.  I also caught a little diddy on the USF library as well as a touching goodby from one girl who had spent the year in the dorms and what appeared like her whole college experience.

We need new content on there.  If any of you know how to post there, do it and have fun.  Would love to see more Sports clips on there....

  2. I think Hall will be allocated to NFLEL.  The Coach had nothing but praise for him in practices, and he did show something in the limited (VERY LIMITED) time he had the ball.  If he makes this cut, he should be seeing much more ball time in the final preseason game, as that is the game the coaches like to let loose their FAs and Rookies to battle it out on the field to impress everyone and earn a paycheck for the year.

If he makes it to next week's game I am almost positive he will see life in Europe for a year.

Attention Andre!!!  Go speak to Scott McCready, get Uber motivated (learn German), and get your game on.  Hope you break all kinds of records in Europe and come back with even MORE to prove to everyone.

As for Reed, he has already made the team even IF he has to sit out the rest of the preseason, which anyone who knows JR knows he wont let himself get beat by a silly concussion.

  3. Andre Finished with 5 runs for 25 yards, and the big run was a 15 yard run.  Even though he was in for only 3 minutes in the 4th quarter with the game already over and all the scrubs playing I am sure he opened some people's eyes.

If he doesn't at least make it on an NFL regualr season roster, perhaps he can be allocated to go to NFLEL where I am sure he will tear it up for the first year and then come back and make a roster the second.  If at least this doesn't happen, then it would be a real tragety.

  4. Ok, so far as I know, these are the current Bulls in NFL uniforms and are competing for spots or have spots on NFL squads.  This should be an easy reference for those who want to keep track:

Scott McCready - (KC shoulder Injury)

    Kawika Mitchell - (KC)

    Dejuan Green - (Oakland)

    Andre Hall - (Chicago)

    J.R. Reed - (Philly)

    Anthony Henry - (Dallas)

Levi Newton - (Detroit not listed in Depth chart but still on roster)

    added

    Frank Davis - (Detroit)

If anyone has any more that I missed, add them.  We could do a weekly post on their performances.

  5. So, if someone was a Yankee fan in NY, and then moved to another city, they are supposed to all of a sudden change allegances?  I think NOT!!

It is possible to like 2 teams in the same league.  ie.  Marlins & Yankees (me).  I like both equally and when they play each other, I root for a good game and not one to come out on top, unless it means something if either are in the playoff race.  I suppose I can't hope that most dual team fans react the same way.

As for being obnoxious, well, thats the NY EGO.  you either love it or hate it.

As for being the poster child for a corupt system, you KNOW that if any other team had the $ that the Yankees had, and the winning tradition, they would follow the same exact path.  Everyone wants to own or build a winner.  To say that you have the capacity to get as many Great Players to your team but you don't want to do it because other team's fans would hate you is just rediculous.  Colleges do the same exact thing.  Great Athelets go to the schools who offer them the best benefits, be it training facilities, winning tradition, Great Coaches, or boosters that pay them.  Untill you fix the system you keep trying to achieve the level of competativeness that others have establised in larger more experienced programs.

Don't hate the succes, just love your team that much more.

  6. Jealousy in Baseball is a powerful thing.  Only reasons everyone hates the Yankees is because they are jealous of their success, and they dont understand George Steinbrenner.

Georgie S has been an avid supporter of USF, If he wasnt as successfull as he was we wouldn't have had as much donated to us.  I respect him for his charity.

    YANKEES RULE!!!!!!

    <---- Fan since 1976!

  7. Congratulations goes out to Katie Ruhe (Former USF Golfer) for making it as far as she did in the program Big Break V on the Golf channel.  Even though the end results were known to Katie a LONG time ago as the competition was months ago, she couldn't reveal if she had won or not due to her contractual obligations.

Hopes this jump starts a long and successful career that will take her out of her waitressing job.

  8. The NFLEL is sponsored by the NFL and is used as a developemental ground for the NFL.  HOWEVER, there are "homegrown" players from europe that would ordinarily not garner a look from NFL teams that are brought into the league as "National" players.  They have no affiliation with any NFL teams.  They have signed contracts with the specific NFLEL team they are on and not with an NFL team on their practice squad assigned to NFLEL.  Scott and many others are designated "National" players for this reason.  They may get some looks from NFL teams, but as a whole, these "National" players are independants and get traded from NFLEL team to team just like in any other leagur.

  9. Even though I don't have to explain my statement about Scott not getting many sniffs from NFL teams, since most of you have brains and can figure that out for yoursleves, I do feel that for those who are difficult and don't like using your brains, I will explain.

Scott is 29 years old.  He has had 2 major injuries in his career, one in HS (Serious Knee Injury) and the other last year (Knee Ligament Injury).  He was able to get on the Patriots 2002 Practice Squad in which he won a Super Bowl ring (XXXVI) and is going for his PHD in Anthropology or The Classics.

He is UBER talented and a proven athelete and trooper being able to come back after both injuries and STILL make a HUGE impact in the leagues he has belonged.

Why won't he go to any NFL team now even though he is productive in NFLEL and even though he may even come out of this year (if he is healthy) leading the league AGAIN in a (WR) yards or receptions?  He is 29 years old and will be 30 next February.  I don't know many NFL teams who would use a roster spot for a 29 or 30 year old who has had injuries and had never played a down in regular season on an NFL team.  Granted, he is an NFLEL Phenom, and has proven to you and to me that he can play with the big boys who are on loan from NFL teams (Joes -vs- Pros come to mind?) but he is no Joe.

I think Scott is happier playing every week first string, practicing with the first team, and being one of the Stars and Hero's of the NFLEL, than a practice squad team who most people don't even know or see throughout the year.  He wouldn't even get to Dress up on Sundays let alone feel the thrill of the crowd cheering him on.  Talk to any athelete and they will tell you that all they want to do is PLAY.

Scott IS playing and he is an inspiration to everyone that the NFL isn't the end all be all.  He has made a name for himself in the NFLEL and he is showing everyone that he IS the man and when the record falls for carreer yards and carreer games played in NFLEL falls to Scott he can hold his head up high and say, "Super Bowl Rings?  I got one.  Records?  I hold a few.  NFL?  Yeah been there done that.  NFLEL is my home and I was one of the BEST players ever to suit up in that league."

USF should be proud and I know I am proud for having followed his NFLEL carreer.

    ;D

  10. From the NFL Europe site:

    http://www.nfleurope.com/teams/story/HAM/9331002

English WR SCOTT McCREADY is in his fifth NFLEL season. His 143 career receptions rank first among national players and third all-time. His 1,607 receiving yards rank first among nationals and third overall. Caught 2 passes for 14 yards last week and needs 14 receptions to move into second place on the all-time catches list…

    His stats from week 2 are S.McCready 8 95 11.9 22 0

8-95.  Looks like he got his move to 2nd place.

He was the Top Reciever for the game and tied for top for the week.

Grats Scott if you read this:

Looks like he will get some more high marks this year.  Glad he is having a very distinguished career outside the NFL.

  11. The regular season scoring title.

She scored 22 in her last game and was tied for first with a 22.4 ppg with LSU's Seimone Augustus.

While Jessica will have scored 15 more points  (648) over the season than Seimone (633), Augustus played in 1 fewer game and scorred 27 in her final game to put her ahead in the ppg category.

Dickson will finish out with 22.34 ppg

Augustus will finish out with a 22.6 ppg

Still Dickson is #1 in our book.  Hope she tears apart the tournament.
