What makes this even worse is that of all these schools,  we have I think the second highest student enrollment.

USF students really only turn out in number for UCF, UCONN, Memphis and maybe Houston. When they do come to games the don't make noise throughout the game like most student sections. They just kinds sit there and wait for an exciting play to cheer for. I'm not including the pep band in this description of students because the pep band stands most of the game and does different chants during the game when they aren't playing their instruments.

Also USF doesn't do a good job of promoting basketball games to the students. So, students who aren't super into basketball don't know when there is one, or that they get in free, or that the first 100 to arrive get access to the Student Lounge with free pizza, free Coca-Cola products, TV monitors, pop-a-shot games etc.

Students at basketball games should only sit down during timeouts or halftime. The rest of the game they should be on their feet creating energy in the arena instead of waiting for something to cheer about.

I think you reverse the players and you reverse who "outcoached" who .....  you look a lot smarter win you have the guys to execute what you would like them to execute

It is obvious that FSU has more talent than USF. The Seminoles coaches made an in-game defensive adjustment and the Bulls didn't adjust to that.

Or they play over their heads for 28 to 30 minutes then the other team realizes, "Wait, we are better than these guys." Case in point FSU.

I think FSU is a bad example of what you are describing. FSU changed its defense during the last four minutes of the game. USF didn't adjust to that. Imho Hamilton outcoached Gregory at the end of that game. That's why USF lost.

Free throw shooting is actually what helped this team get to 24 wins. We shot 5% higher during the post season run last year , and needed every bit of the 33 made free throws to beat Stonry Brook in OT in the first round of the CBI. It also helps to play the first four games at home.

To infer there is no correlation is foolish.

Even in the Stony Brook game USF only made 68.8 percent of their free throws. Fortunately they had almost 50 attempts. There was one game in the CBI that they were 6-6 for 100% which bumped up the average. The rest of the CBI games were at or below the regular season average iirc.

Not a huge basketball fan, but to me, the horrible free throw shooting has contributed at least as much as losing Yetna. Injuries are, for the most part, unavoidable. Free throws are a simple matter of practice.

The Bulls made 64.4% of their free throws last season and won 24 games. This season they're making 63.7% which isn't much different from last season. of course there are more games to play so that 63.7% could improve or get worse yet.

For me, I've never really worried about the psyche and/or confidence of the team. The execution isn't always there but they never appear to give up or stop hustling. Let's just hope the 2019-20 version of USF MBB doesn't emulate last year's in that we had a 5 game win streak coming into mid February but won only one more conference game the rest of season.

I watch the bench during games and quite a few times there is bad body language over there. Even during times when the team is playing well. The one guy that always seems to be encouraging his teammates is Yetna.

So beating a beating a top 75 program on the road is huge for our basketball program? I thought the expectations for football were bad.... All jokes aside, Go Bulls. I am not a basketball fan, but always good to win and support the Bulls.

Well, considering that USF is ranked 115th in the NCAA NET beating a top 75 program on the road, no less, is a good win for the program. If I understand the NCAA NET rankings the Bulls have another chance for a quad one win Wednesday night against Houston.

Next year is still a big question mark. Will Yetna be back to his old self? Will he be fully healthy? How will he be psychologically? Will we lose some games early because of any of the issues above? Will anyone hit 3s consistently (will any hit jump shots consistently)? Will Castaneda still be streaky? Will AC get any better as a player? Will the team suddenly be any better from the line? How long will it take for the transfer to adjust to playing again? Etc. etc. etc.

Who is AC? Did you have an Anthony Collins flashback?
