Only ~20% of teams have released their full OOC schedules so far. I've been checking every day to see if we're on any of those newly released schedules. So far, the only released schedule we're on is BC's.

I know a guy, who knows a guy who knows the schedule. He said USF has two open dates they are trying to fill and prefers not to release a schedule, only to add two games later on and have to get that info out. They alos do not want to release a schedule with TBD next to dates.

Not from either of those two websites. But since you linked to the Morgan State athletic department website, you can see that he played 32 minutes in 11 games at Morgan State.

To me that equals not being able to get on the court. Despite being in arguably the weakest conference in Division 1 basketball.

He only scored one more FG in his career at USF  than I did and I was never on the team.  He looked the part however he had huge heavy feet, looked like he was playing in snow shoes.

He never looked the part to me.

All I saw was an enormous guy who was probably told that basketball was his ticket to a free college education and that he would get scholarship offers because "you can't teach 7'3."

You must have a short memory!

There is not a whole lot to remember. He played in 43 games and scored just 23 career points in his career, which included one season at Morgan State. He couldn't even get on the court at Morgan State which is in arguably the weakest conference in college basketball. When Omogbehin signed with USF my first thought was "Fire Stan Heath right effing now."

They finished 134 in NET last year. Wonder if they will be better or worse than last year.

I saw elsewhere in the thread that a certain in-state school will be playing us in basketball this year. That could be our biggest game of the year.

Boston College lost their leading scorer and their 4th leading scorer from last year. Their big man is pretty good and played at least one year of high school ball down in South Florida.

That other game you are referencing will not be a home game.

In light of Pender choosing UNC it got me to wondering. Why is it that kids get caught up in the glam of “P5” schools? We have seen it time and time again with Wollard, Cherry etc. Last year Armwood highly recruited RB Snead chose OSU when they had 3 or 4 other 4* RB’s already on roster now that guy is at a JUCO. Pender chose UNC, what’s the over/under on him wanting to come back home in a year due to a “hardship”?

Sometimes the best play is going to a school like USF, UCF, CINCINNATI, Temple, Houston etc where you can play early and often and not have to sit two years behind 4 other 4* just because the jersey says OSU, UF or FSU. Do you think USF should stop taking transfers that snubbed us from the get go, I feel those highly touted recruits look at school like ours as a fall back.  Look at Ed Oliver, could have went anywhere in the country but went to UH and still got drafted 1st round.

Most kids want to play at the highest level and, believe they will earn a starting spot, so if they get a P5 offer they take it.

USF should absolutely not stop taking transfers. Not every transfer will turn out like Marquez Valdes-Scantling, but if you stop taking transfers you will definitely miss out on the next MVS.

Forgot about Milon and the way he tore up the Colonial, should translate into 5-6 ppg in the AAC.   I stand by my 10-12 place finish but will concede the cabinets are not bare however they still have a massive rebuild on their hands and will love seeing them suk this year.

Not just the Colonial. As a freshman reserve at Boston College Milon averaged 5.4 ppg and made 39-79 threes (.494). He made 23-48 (.479) against ACC opponents and was expected to have a bigger role as a sophomore.

So, if Dawkins figures out how to use Milon I'd expect him to double your 5-6 ppg in the AAC.

Was a junior but opted for the draft while his stock was high, went undrafted and signed with the Pelicans likely playing developmental ball.  He realized the ship was sinking and opted for a lifeboat, they will be straight A$$ this year and has the makings of the team CBG inherited.

Aubrey Dawkins stock was never high. He HAD to enter the draft, he's **** near 30 years old.

It's funny because they're fan base is about to witness them getting slapped off that high horse.

Actually, the UCF fans I talk to expect the team to take a step back. Most think that their ceiling is probably 6th place. They are just hoping that Johnny Dawkins can win without Donnie Jones' recruits.

Lost Taco, Dawkins, and another starter. Oh.. yes... Taco was that big of a force for them.

They also lost BJ Taylor, one of the best point guards in the conference until he slid over to shooting guard when they added Terrell Allen. Btw, Allen surprised UCF by transferring to Georgetown in late April. Also lost Chad Brown an energy bringer off the bench.

Meh, Ollie got the strongest sanctions.

Connecticut is penalized one less official visit this year and one less official visit next year. My goodness. How WILL they ever recover?  Very few basketball programs use all of their allotted officials.

Two years probation is nothing as long as they don't violate rules during the probationary period. Since they hired outside of the Jim Calhoun coaching tree that probably will not be an issue.

You mean the one pre USF that had Miami and Boston College?  That Big East?  Or the one that was pre Miami and Boston College?  That one?

IIRC Boston College was an original member of the BE. But to clarify I mean when the BE consisted of: Providence, St. John's, Georgetown, Syracuse, Seton Hall, Connecticut and Boston College, Villanova and Pittsburgh

That was a great conference. They had three teams in the 1985 final four and Boston College was a buzzer beater away from possibly advancing to the Elite Eight.

The BE of today pales in comparison. It really is Villanova and nine (soon to be ten) other schools

Meh, Connecticut basketball fans being unhappy in the AAC seems pretty similar to USF football fans being unhappy in the AAC (to me at least). At least Connecticut was an original member of the Big East. If that's really where they want to be God bless em.

I miss the real Big East, not the bastardized version of it that eventually broke up in 2012. The current Big East is unimpressive to me but still had 4 tournament teams (same as AAC but AAC won more games) and I think 5 NIT teams (AAC had 2).

    OOC SOS?

P5 teams schedule buy games for wins not OOC SOS.

For that purpose USF would make more sense as a home-and-away series for a P5 program that, is not playing in a holiday tournament or Coaches Classic type of event, than as a buy game.

Tulane and ECU are AAC buy game teams.
