Here's an idea tell the Alabamas, Clemsons, Georgia's etc. of the world to stop scheduling the Citadel, Furman, Ga Southern, etc. and play the top G5 teams every year.  Tell them to put their money where their mouths are.  It should be no problem since these top G5 schools are so inferior and now the G5 schools have a shot at proving themselves on the field instead of talking heads using "eye tests" and spread sheets in a board room

Why would they do that? They have nothing to gain from and only hurt if they lose the game?

  2. So is STRONGS team better than Willie's team? Are either of them better than Leavitt's program? No we regressed and we need to get over the hump. Who takes us back? Where is the fire and intensity now? I hate UCF but watching them comeback against MEMPHIS and play with intensity and passion shows that we lack it. We need the SWAGGER, aggressiveness, intensity, passion, fire in our bellies, or whatever you want to call it back. We are too laid back and just  lackadaisical  on the field now.

AKA USF PURGATORY, 21 years  of misery and despair, and we are Just getting started.  It really gets HOT next yea:FIREdevil:

HOT like our undefeated start to next year of 0-0. I was behind the 7-0 start because I wanted to believe we could get better, but the coaching staff let the fans and team down. The coaching staff refused to evolve, make ,adjustments, and change the system and playbook.

Oh, I'm still in a "let's make a difference" mode. There's no excuse for what's happened the past month. That not a single person has been fired in the last week is stunning to me unless they're waiting until after early signing day-and it's not like we have an amazing class coming in as is.

I hope the new AD is hopefully waiting for the new president to make some real changes to enhance the athletic experience at USF mainly football.

So you can’t admit that someone who grew a program from nothing and coached in better conferences to a better record and bowl victories is better than someone that has a sub .500 record not just here but in his entire coaching history and has managed exactly zero bowl victories? What one accomplishment can anyone point to that would put CWT above CJL because there are hundreds that point the opposite direction. When CWT needed a DC he hired CJL at one of the highest salaries for a college assistant, I don’t see any way that goes the opposite direction especially with CWT being relieved of his playcalling duties on his own team in his first year.

In a much stronger conference with inferior facilities, lower rated recruits,  and built the program from scratch. I will take CJL any day just because his cut throat personality and fiery passion for some good football. If you add in the other factors it is not even a factor. Charlie can't do 10-3 with superior recruiting in a worse conference.

I would not have been mad had CCS gone for it and failed there. I would have been mad because the play call would have been yet another run up the middle.

Also, the set up to the question ignores the play right before. We had 3rd and 6. We handed off to go right up the middle. If you’re running that play on 3rd down you have to expect that there’s a 50-50 shot we’re going to need a 4th down play of a couple yards or less. If you have no intention of going for it on 4th there then you have to play 3rd down differently. And that is a lot of the probem.

Correct if you are not coming to get the first down on 3 and 6 with a pass then you should be committing to go for it on fourth down if the run fails.

Tailgating, cheering and standing are all awesome college traditions but we are being disingenuous if we want to pretend we haven’t ambitiously created a hostile environment to those things while a good portion of fans even on this board have championed it.

I couldn't agree more with you puck. I had to shut down the tailgate early and try to talk my friends to come watch opening kickoff versus GT.

You would think that this would work, but it will take more than just an exciting offense. Our attendance wasn't great in Taggart's last year here, and that was probably the best Offense we've had. Hopefully our new AD has some solutions.

Winning, exciting offensive football, and getting more students involved goes a long way. The school also needs to offer more transportation to get the students to the game and fill up the lower bowl with more students. When I graduated in 08-09 season there was a larger student section then there is now. An OCS will go a long way, but the BULLS need to establish a winning culture and create some tradition. I hate UCF, but they do have some chants and gimmicks such as zombie nation and the cell phone lights to get their crowd involved. I know our stadium will look empty because it holds a lot more people, but we have to create a culture that gets our fans and area involved. The only solution I can think of is win and make USF football great(joking) again.

I am reminded of the UConn game back in maybe 2013 or 2014.  One of the only wins we had for the season.   It was a complete deluge pouring rain.  Most people were in the club or under cover.  My buddy and I were basically alone in our section wearing panchos and loudly cheering and standing.  A TSA dude in a pancho ordered us to sit down. I said no cause we aren’t bothering anyone out here.  We’re cheering for the Bulls.  He motioned to the cop to come down and the cop said if we didn’t obey him we would be removed from the stadium.  True story.

Sounds like he needs to be removed for ruining the atmosphere. Motion the cop for him next time!

Here is the most recent debate on standing or excessive celebration.

I have plenty more I can provide you over the years, if anyone is interested. Including going back to 2005.

Or the time I got arrested for standing and cheering because it obstructed the view of the non-paid employee seats that line the lower bowl.

I tailgate and cheer my bulls on! If I stand, stand up, get loud, and join me. Unless you are handicap and can't!
