As much as any Bulls fan would want that to happen, the likelihood is not high. A NY6 bowl yes but not the CFP or Champhionship game, especially since our only decent OOC game next year is against FSU.
If you remember, Memphis was being mentioned as getting a playoff spot if they won out after their ole miss game. If fla st wins 9+ and we win out, i think we have a good 80% shot at the CFP, especially if the AAC wins the majority of their bowl games and ooc games next year. We will need to root for the conference teams except UCF. The biggest factor remains Houstons (my pick to win the AAC) ability to handle an Ohio St caliber team in the NY6 bowl

That is a fine looking list of transfers to add to an already deep team. Throw in Reilly Gibbons who was eligible this year as a freshman, but didnt play so he redshirted. So from my understanding, will be a redshirt freshman next year

2007 by such a small margin. I just have a hard time finding the quality NFL talent on this team that the 2007 team had. I think the only sure fire NFL player on 2015s team is Mack. Probable NFL'ers to me are Nichols, Thor, and Brynjar. Byrd might get picked up as a free agent. Senat possibly, and if Adams starts to get sure hands and bulk maybe him too. But thats too many ifs. Score goes 27-20

Need a stud mlb from juco that can transfer in and start right away
need to plan on Mack going pro after next year too
Hopefully Cecil Cherry from Texas will be a good player for next year, but honestly I am content with rising SR Nigel Harris and JR Auggie Sanchez

So about that respect thing... You guys don't think USF gets it? I would go as far to say we get more respect than anybody in the country as far as AP poll is concerned. We now officially have more votes than any other 4 loss team IN THE COUNTRY. Above Washington St, above Tennessee, above UCLA, above Mississippi St, and get this, the ACC's 4 loss Miami and Pittsburgh don't even have votes. Take that for not being able to do it in the AAC.

Sounds like we need to be good next year, because the soft OOC schedule in 2017 coupled with Tulane and Tulsa from the west will give us the treatment Houston got this year.. could be 10-1 and unranked. Which btw is complete crap
-
WOw im cheering for uconn but thats a badddddd call. Thats a touchdown temple for sure
-
Well we can only blame ourselves. We never should have lost to Maryland. But there is no shame in losing to Memphis, Navy and Florida st. I am perfectly happy with 8-4, and dont even think we deserve the title over Temple

Noel Thomas looks really impressive early on. They gotta get him the ball somehow.
This reminds me way too much of Mike White leading our offense.
mike white is massively better than this shmuck. Hes like Matt Floyd
-
let the game play out and stop with the whining--- we might get lucky-- even if we don't -- great season.
youre on the wrong board or coach diaco if you arent wearing blue right now.
-
THATS how they won
Newsome is going no where tonight. UCONN needs to sling the ball.
youre right, running up the middle hes not, but screens will work if you have noel thomas going up top

In all seriousness, Tim Boyle needs to start taking some shots with a heavy dose of Newsome. But if mid way through the 2nd he isnt connecting with anything, they might want to stick with the wildcat / trick plays, because boyle straight sucks
-
If temple scores here, its o...... No. I wont say it
-
The USF team that played the last 30 days would beat an all star team comprised from both rosters.
If there is a god of football, he/she will sink Temple tonight.
youre so delusional. Stop.

Fair or not, the AAC's bowl showing will greatly determine our chances of a preseason ranking

Well, I think the AAC is better than people think. Memphis, Temple, Houston, and Navy are legitimate good teams. Uconn is improving and Cincy can hang with anybody. The thing is, when we saw the national media talk about the AAC, it was when an AAC team beat a ooc opponent or kept it very close. If the Bulls can win the ooc games next year, along with a respectable showing by the rest of the AAC, respect will start coming. First things first, AAC teams need to win the bowl games they get invited to this year. That'll turn some heads.
Outside of the NY6 bowl, I think the AAC can realistically run the table in bowl season with Greg Ward, Paxton Lynch and Jahad Thomas coming back. Have you seen our bowl lineup? It is cake. Hell, even Tulsa is 3-0 vs the G5 this year. I can't wait until the matchups are out. I hate to say it, but I don't think USF is ready for Houston, much less a NY6 team. But the simple fact of exposure makes it all worth it if we do make it.
-
There's no way in hell Memphis runs the table next year. I think Memphis will be average without Fuente next year and more importantly, without Lynch. I guess we'll have to wait to see who's right. If he's gets fired in 3 years, then he can get another job in CUSA or the AAC. It's not like his career will be over. If you're offered a decent P5 job, you take it.
I don't see Memphis running the table next year either. But who knows, they will still be at LEAST a 7-8 win team. And no one from the AAC is hiring Fuente if he sucks big time at VT. Prime example, you don't see decent AAC teams buzzing about Randy Shannon, Al Golden, Randy Edsall, or Steve Sark, and at one point they were hot commodities. Maybe the sorry excuse for a program Tulane might... Point is, failures go back to the drawing boards as coordinators aka less pay. Its a gamble. I guess its all worth it if he makes more money and kicks ass at VT.
-
Memphis has historically been bad. They have been good for a couple of years, VT has been much more impressive overall, they play in the ACC, have more money, more fans, better academics, better facilities, etc..homerism. And no one knows what the score would be if they played this year.
I could go off on the Juniors and Sophomore names making huge contributions to the team right now. This team will not pull a UCF and go from good to bad that quickly. VT is a mess right now. My point is that Memphis will be good for the next few years and can easily be ranked with continued success and we saw this year, that if they run the table, they have a real shot at the CFP. When you start fresh at a new place, it is hard to build up a program from the ground up when you have had a history of success like VT. It is expected to be done overnight, or else you're gone. Then lets say he is fired from VT, after very mediocre seasons... Where does he go from there? I just think with comparable money, why not stay? I guess we should wait and see what he was offered.

Get used to this conference, everyone in it is here for a long while.
I really think the Big 12 will get left out again, and gets pissed off and adds 2 for a CCG. Who those 2 will be? Idk. I personally like the American, but most of USF fans want out. Good news for you guys is that Cincy / BYU / UCF was probably top of the wish list last year, but no one is touching UCF now, BYU wants to stay independent, and Cincy looks slightly less attractive right now, but still is probably in the running. So youd have to think USF is in the discussion with Memphis right now. I doubt they want Houston for more TX schools. And Temple is too far
-
who is leaving from Temple? Remember that we have to go up to Philly next season
They lose their 4 best players on defense and their best WR. Still, PJ Walker and Jahad Thomas are back. http://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-football-depth-charts/depth-chart/temple/91970

Memphis would beat VT right now by 20+.... Huge homerism, I know
-
Temple has everything to lose and UConn has little to gain (bowl wise). I'm expecting Temple to play with more intensity and win by a couple of touchdowns. If UConn can win the turnover battle and get some easy points, then it could be closer.
Normally I would agree with you, but ECU just lost with a bowl on the line to Cincy, and Cincy had little to play for except for their 7th win, just like UConn. I don't necessarily think Temple has a ton more talent than any team in the AAC east either, especially with Jahad Thomas being banged up for much of the second half of the year. They are just very well coached. I think UConn will play a tougher game than most think

Fuente for escaping this crap for a mid-tier ACC job
I really feel like if the AAC stuck together, this would be a better job than VT. Think about it, the AAC had a winning record this year vs the ACC. There is something to build on in the AAC. If we can just add Boise and one more (Air Force would be my pick, but maybe Marshall, NIU, or even Arkansas St, which has dominated the sun belt almost every year, and isn't a directional school). And while we are at it, gosh darn it, dismiss Tulane because that was a terrible add from the start and still friggin is and idk what the bring to the AAC at all

Such is the dumb state of college football.
It is BECAUSE of that state of college football that USF had a spot in the Big East in the first place lol
8 Bulls selected for all conference.

Im glad they got it right with Mack and Nichols being the best 2 on the team. I personally have no gripes with any of the selections, except the Byrd snub. If I had to pick one guy who maybe got lucky with the second team selection its gotta be Eric Lee. But the conference is secondary heavy, and lacks premier pass rushers, so it makes sense
