FedEx is about making a profit. After all those teams left it wasn't profitable. Fred Smith is a businessman first and Memphis fan second. The American wouldn't be good business for FedEx plus once the Big East name was sold that deal was definitely off the table.

Yes it total delusion that Memphis higher ups would pump false hope to guys that write our checks like FedEX CEO Fred Smith and other big money players (Alan Graff and Bill Laurier) for us. Why in the hell would you lie to those guys. Use your brain on that one. You don't burn bridges with people in that kind of position. This isn't something put together at the last minute. Its been a process for 18 months.

Cincy and Memphis have the 11 and 12 spot in their favor. USF is in the pool for 13 and 14 that consist of Houston, UConn, BYU, Boise State, and UCF. I would like BYU and a Florida school

Texas doesn't want to expand but they will because of ramifications if they don't. 100% true Texas doesn't want to expand but they recognize at the same time that there are some things (not telling) in their best interest that need expansion to happen

It's happening this summer. It will not be the last round though. So your president is making a good move to show commitment once we hit into when the majority of the GORs start to run out.

I can actually share this fact with you. What I am saying is coming from an ambassador of our university. Meaning his sources come straight from the horses mouth or 1 point removed from the horses mouth of our university. He actually was nice enough to share on the crazy Memphis board which the media(Jeff Goodman, John Martin, Mike DeCoursey, Dan Wolkens, ect...)loves to pull material from to write crazy articles about us. He posted this 3 weeks ago He definitly has more details but that is about all he is going to share on a public forum. This was only shared because ESPN obtained those documents so it was out in the open. But the work going on with the Big 12 has been going on for 18 months. I can't speak on if your president and administration has been involved during that span of time but Memphis and Cincy have been working in tandem with each other with the Big 12 for 18 months. This was actually reported by Garry Parrish in the fall.

Well it's going to get weird for you. Memphis bid to the Big East was lead by leadership with no vision. Memphis bid to the Big 12 has been led by one of the best AD and President we have had in a while. Rudd has done nothing but worked on improving our school since the mess of a leadership Shirley Raines and RC Johnson. Bowen has helped get our athletic department out of debt along with balancing out basketball and football. This leadership has led us through one of the worse contracts ever made for an unproven coach in Pastner and grabbed the Big 12 Coach of the Year and HOF in Tubby. Saying all that they have made big time strides and establishing relationships in the community and getting corporations on board with our bid to the Big 12. FedEx is the biggest one but we have some other heavy hitters that are also involved with this. It's really a team effort by the city. Something you don't see with other cities. Our president is a UT grad and has some relationship throughout that state and has been working this for 18 months. They have put us in a prime position for this moment. Also USF is still very much in it because the Big 12 is going to 14. They are still deciding or not telling who 13 and 14 are.

I feel bad this Pastner last year. Good guy just not meant for this program
