From what I saw today from about 9:30-10:30.

Flowers: Throws a wobbly ball with a lot of air under it. Missed on a handful of short, touch passes. Had a few nice longer throws mixed in. Also, he looks small. Just saying.

Bench: Had a lot more zip on the ball than Flowers. Also made some poor decisions leading to INTs and breakups.

AW: Physically, there's no contest between him and everyone else. Tight spiral, effortless touch with good carry.

Kean: Looks like a freshman. If he touches the field this year, CWT is toast. Nowhere near the arm strength of the rest of the QBs. Accuracy was a mess. Also looks like he short arms his passes.

I can't speak for the rest of the practices, playbook stuff, etc. but if today is any indication, Flowers is not the clear leader for starter.

-**** Kean was my hope lol There goes my prediction for the year. Maybe he was nervous.

Why is it that Darius Tice gets no love? He out played Johnson and is now officially the #2 back. I think he will have a great year as well

I feel Kinan, Hope and Allen are the biggest slept on X factors.

One thing I do know is that the graduation rate and academic are probably the main positive category the team as a whole is. In the end Calloway has to make the decision to either find help or try harder. Ive been there myself until i got my act together. Taggart can only do so much.

I think the gold helmets and all green uni is always the best option. We play better in that set of colors lo I did no kind of research for that statement lol

Good experience for the team. A full summer practicing against good competition maybe against a few pro teams and by the time the season starts they will be in great shape. Plus it seems that he gives a good look at international players. He might get us a bunch of Pau Gasols lol

I think we lost some good players, but redshirted a lot of better players and gave them time to physically mature. Andre Davis was great, but we were one dimensional with him. Now we are forced to finally give other receivers a chance. plus we have a bunch of awesome transfers, walk ons and freshman coming in. I think this is probably the deepest USF team ever. Before we relied on a few stars or playmakers, but the rest of the team was so so, now we are truly deeper with talent which is why we always started losing toward the end of the season. Taggart built this team from scratch and saved a lot of talent for this year. Now there is truly no excuse

 

Deepest USF team ever? Maybe the most potential, but currently deep, I would beg to differ. 3 or 4 other ( maybe more) USF teams have had a two deep much better than the current team IMO. What do I know though.

First of all Im am a UF graduate, Florida Gator baby and a Bulls fan hence the name "GATORBULL" 2nd, ive watch video on every recruit taggart has brought in and did research. 3rd, All u can do in the offseason is have fun and predict ****. I dont believe in hitting women, but if she was a dude, he would of never been arrested, it would of been self defense.

Banking on previously injured players not always a great idea but we can hope. I remember skip did this and it did not pay off. If he still has this same speed he will be hard to keep off the field.

According to one story I read, he successfully ran for the track team after his injury healed up...yes he runs track too

He had 8 touchdown runs of 60 yards or more last season. Not sure why he was not heavily recruited but the tape does not lie, this dude is fast.  It's going to be a nice year for the Bulls.

Whats funny is that i got to UF in 95' and wasnt a big college football fan until i had a whole bunch of big dudes in my class (Fred Taylor, Ben Hanks, and some other cat) and was curious to see how they play. But it took a while for me to become a fan b/c they were obnoxious lol I appreciate the Gators more as an alumnni

I don’t see how we haven’t gotten better.Quarterback (better) - We officially have 4 quarterbacks on our roster than can run a 40 under a 4.7, three of them run a 4.5 and 2 out of those four can actually throw if you count Brett Kean and Karsten Miller. Personally, I think Kean will rise up as a true Freshman and lead us to glory. When the season starts I shall have my “I told you so post†ready. I’m not a big fan of Bench or Flowers, but if they somehow manage to beat out Kean then I’m confident we can get at least 6 wins with them.Running back (waaay better) Marlon Mack is a beast. Tice is a beast who can also catch. Not sure why you fail to mention him in your post, but I see him getting 500 rushing yards this year while Mack Surpasses 1000 again. Kennard Swanson, and D'Ernest Johnson will play their roles as well. I feel they have all probably added muscle and speed this offseason so it will be an awesome year of running.

Receivers / Tight ends (better) –How are we worse? Welch sucked, Andre Davis was great but gone, and Adams is still here. Now our quarterbacks will finally be forced to utilize the other talent such as 4 star Rysheen Bronson, Clerveax, Whitehead, Chris Bar and let us not forget McCants in addition to 2 good transfers from P5 schools. We have plenty of speed and good hands this year.Offensive line (Much better)- I agreeDefensive line (Better)- Kevin Bronson, Deadrin Senat, Marlon Gonzalez…and they are playing with 4 bodies at the line. We are much deeper this year.Linebackers (Freakin awesome) No words needed, I expect an awesome defense this yearDefensive Backs (Better) I think mad players got experience from last year and have probably put on good muscle in this off season.Kicker/Punter (better) We are good at this position.Return game (better) We have waaay too many speed options this year. I am not at all a depressed bulls fan. I love USF no matter what their record is, and i definitely will not bandwagon over to the gators or noles blog. Im just being realistic in my analysis, and not going to claim that our kikcker is better after losing kloss lol. Its ok to be a fan without expecting a #1 overall ranking bro. Go USF

I graduated from the University of Florida. USF is my 2nd team. I became a fan because i love the journey of this team.

I feel that is why we sucked these past few years including losing to a non-P5 Georgia Southern was our Karma. But we have a new coach which means a new start

Other than the dearth of Haitians on the team, nothing has changed ...

 

I don't want to compare USF to Memphis, but last year Memphis did not play UCF or ECU.  They destroyed Cincinnati early in the season, but other than that they beat conference foes Uconn, us, Tulsa, Temple, Tulane, and SMU.  None of those teams had a winning record.  Again, beyond Cincinnati they did not beat any good teams.  They did beat a struggling BYU in Miami.  

 

That is why last year was a good "turn it around" year for us as we had a pretty soft schedule, but not as soft as Memphis.  This year our schedule is much tougher.

Not to mention, we almost beat a good Wisconsin team

Pump the breaks a bit on the "one of the top defensive coaches in the SEC" banners.  Tom Allen was a line bakers coach for two years at Ole Miss.  Not the architect of the 4-2-5 scheme there.  A position coach.

I never said he was the "defensive coordinator", but he was one of the coaches on one of the best defenses last year and had a lot of hype to become a Defensive Coordinator.
